I'll be going on a 2 week vacation at the end of September/ early October but its not your average family vacation. Since I became pregnant and due in July, we had to make adjustments to this trip.
Before I was pregnant the plan was to go on my first cruise ( 7days) with my husband, 4 yo son, my parents, my brother + spouse and sister + spouse. I found out I was pregnant in November and with the rules of the cruise baby would not be 6 months for the cruise and there was no way I was planning to leave my 2 month behind for this cruise. So instead of cancelling the entire cruise for everyone, we decided that my mother-in-law will go in my place on the cruise.
We haven't taken a trip with my mother-in-law like this, so it will be interesting to say the least. She wants to do some park days before the cruise so now the week before the cruise we will plan park days all together and I will stay on property while the rest of the family goes on the cruise. But don't worry I won't be completely alone with the baby. I invited my friend to spend the week with me while they are on the cruise.
I'm sad to miss this first cruise but we plan to schedule one for next year. I'm excited for this vacation after having our second child. There will be a lot of emotions but it will be memorable that is for sure!
Thankfully I got an annual pass last month when I went for 2 weeks because I knew we will be going in September so that is one way I tried to save money and knew how many days I needed to be worth the price. Also gives me a reason to try to get another trip down to see my brother and SIL this year!
Nothing is completely planned yet but we know the basics for this trip... I will find out what my MIL would like to do in the parks because she hasn't been on a big trip like this and I've been frequently haha. I'm not sure if I'll make a pre trip report or post but this helps me get started in a way.
Has anyone had a weird family trip that there seemed to be a lot of moving pieces? We seem to do this with our trips to make it work with our large family.
