Majestic - Thanks, I really appreciate your help! We always make room requests, but to be honest, we're usually happy whatever room we get!:teeth: We're in WDW, after all!::yes::

Kind of a silly question, but I couldn't find it on the Disney website...Is the WL pool zero-entry?

Thanks!

Not silly at all and it has been asked before. :)

No it is not zero entry. Wish they did make it that way but they didn't. Oh well.

Does anyone remember from last year:

1. What time the fireworks were during Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party?

and

2. What time were the fireworks on the regular days in December?

I know someone here will know this answer. ::yes::

Another question???

Has anyone ever ordered room service, not from the menu but from Artist Point? And they delivered it to the room. Also, has anyone ever had champagne and strawberries delivered to the room?

Trying to make a special "room service" night for my DH during our trip in December.

Any other ideas? Thanks. :D

Can't help ya with the fireworks questions but I CAN help you out both financially and by answering this one!!

We ordered room service ONCE from Artist Point. They slapped on like a $20 delivery fee!!! Artist Point charges extra for room service PLUS the room service people tack on a charge as well.

As another example...if you wanted to get take out that you pikc up yourself from AP you would have to pay that fee PLUS a 15% tip as well!

I spoke with the manager regarding this practice especially since I wasn't warned and they credited some money back to me but boy was I shocked!

On the other hand, WCC does NOT charge for takeout even though they advise that they can or are supposed to. I have done it several times during our stays.

Matter of fact, I highly recommend you also have GOOD two way radios for your stay. I use Kenwood GMRS radios. They allow us to seperate at the hotel and parks and still be able to keep in touch.

If money is no object, ignore what I said. :) (Then again, if money were no object, I would do dinner at the chef's table at V&A at the GF.)

Hope this helps. :)

Thanks Fred for the information. I'm just trying to plan. Maybe we will just eat at AP and then grab a bottle of champagne and go up to the room.

I wish money were no object, I would pay for everyone. ::yes::

I remember your two way radios, Marcel was very impressed. We are definitely thinking about getting them. Especially since I do have a bad habit of wondering off mesmerized by the sights of Disney. :D

We were hoping to go in September, but now it looks more like December. I haven't changed the timer yet.

Although, we are thinking of driving over on Thursday, 9/16 to go and eat at Boma and then maybe catch Wishes or something. It would be neat to meet up with you again. We were just going to go in the evening, but we could leave earlier in the day. ::yes::

DizKid- We were there in December of 2002, and if memory serves me, (and God knows it doesn't always) the parks were open until 8 PM at which time they had the fireworks. As for MCMCP, I think that was 8 or 9 to midnight, and the fireworks were definitely towards the end of the night, and made me cry I might add! But then I always cry at the fireworks, much to my family's dismay! Hope that helps! (not the crying part):teeth:

And now I have a question I know has probably been answered before on this thread somewhere, but time to read posts is something I don't have a large supply of lately---and I wonder if somebody (Fred?) can help me out. Who knows when they start decorating the lodge for Christmas?

Thanks Tig-girl,

Don't feel bad about crying at the fireworks, I'm usually a basket case. Happy tears, though. Just makes you realize that "Miracles really do come true."

P.S. My DH usually joins in. He is such a "mush", but that is what makes me love him so much.

Thanks again for the info on the fireworks, trying to start to plan priority seating. :D

'cause that darn thing is confusing me :scratchin
I have tons of notes about the bus service from WL, small blue flag boat to CR and the large green flag boat to MK,but ohhhhhh that monorail!!!

I was under the assumption that we could easily boat over to the CR, and then jump on the resort monorail to get to the Poly for dinner. Is that right?

Can you also boat over to CR and catch a monorail to Epcot? And back again?

What is an express monorail?

Help please???

Tig-gil

Hi, last November 13th Suzannews a DIS'er that works at WCC said that they had started putting the Christmas Tree up when she lefted work the night before. All the Chiristmas decorations through out WDW were up when I arrived November 15th.

DizneyKid

Jeanne, we are leaving that Wedensday morning for home (sniff-sniff)

Yes you may do just that but, it isn't the fastest way...first you would have to wait on the small Blue Boat then ride to CR, then walk to the Resort (boat docks are not right at the Entrance to the CR) then go up four flight to catch the resort monorail...The small boats stop running at 10:00pm.

Can you also boat over to CR and catch a monorail to Epcot? And back again? NO, you can ride the Blue Boat over to the CR then ride the resort monorail to TTC, but you then have to transfere to another monorail line to EPCOT. The Monorail that goes to EPCOT doesn't stop at any of the resorts.

What is an express monorail? For guest who are not staying on Disney Property they arrive at the TTC then board the express monorail that takes then directly to the Magic Kingdom this monorail does't stop at any of the resorts.

Help please??? Did any of this help?

So, what would be the best way to get from WL to the Poly (and back) for a 8pm dinner ?You didn't tell me that part,LOL.

And as far as the monorail goes, from the CR we have to go to the TTC and transfer to get to Epcot or simply take the Epcot bus from WL.Right?
And on our Epcot day we are planning to shoot over to the Concourse Steakhouse for lunch because I thought we could easily jump on the monorail from Epcot, and get to CR really quick. Not so huh??? <sigh>

Also, what would your advice be for getting from WL to CSR(and back) for a 7pm dinner. And for getting to AKL(and back) for a 7-8pm dinner?

I had posted these questions on the transportation board awhile back, and all I got was one reply that said "rent a car" :(

--------------------------------------------
You are right about the transportation between CR and Epcot! Taking the monorail, you would have to go the TTC first, then catch a monorail to Epcot!
As far as the other resorts are concerned, you can take a bus to DTD, then transfer to specific resort buses! I don't know if you can catch buses from the TTC to go to specific resorts!? Does anyone know that answer?
Honestly, most people just take a cab from WL to AKL or CSR to save on time and convenience!

* I just edited another option! Take the boat to MK, from there you can take a bus to different resorts!

So, what would be the best way to get from WL to the Poly (and back) for a 8pm dinner ?You didn't tell me that part,LOL. I feel the most direct way to reach the Poly is to ride the Inter-Resort Bus from WL to the TTC then walk to the Poly or catch the Resort Monorail from TTC to the the Poly...walking would be faster.

And as far as the monorail goes, from the CR we have to go to the TTC and transfer to get to Epcot or simply take the Epcot bus from WL.Right? Yes, I think you've got it.

And on our Epcot day we are planning to shoot over to the Concourse Steakhouse for lunch because I thought we could easily jump on the monorail from Epcot, and get to CR really quick. Not so huh??? That's not a bad plan with your lunch plans because you will already be at the CR, you will just have to transfer to the EPCOT Monorail when you reach TTC. (Tansfering means walking down a ramp then around and up another ramp)

Also, what would your advice be for getting from WL to CSR(and back) for a 7pm dinner. And for getting to AKL(and back) for a 7-8pm dinner? OK, to reach the two resorts for dinner the easiest way would be to go to the Magic Kingdom then ride each resorts bus back to the resort.
Then if the Magic Kingdom is still open when you are ready to return to WL just go back to the MK and ride the boat back to the lodge. If the Magic Kingdom is closed you should catch the bus for DTD and then transfer to the
Wilderness Lodge bus

(* I'm adding this because I think you can do it if you think about it...if any of the Parks are still open when you finish your dinner, like EPCOT because that park is opened the latest. It would be faster to take the bus from CSR or AKL to EPCOT then catch the bus back to Wilderness Lodge or ride the EPCOT Monorail to TTC then jump on the Inter-Resort Bus back to WL.)

I added that part because the bus service to DDT is the slowest and takes longer.

The only resorts that have a bus that goes to TTC are the Wilderness Lodge and Ft. Wilderness Campground. This is the Inter-Resort Bus I have been talking about. No other resorts have buses that go to TTC.

Thankyou AC ! I guess we could always use this option to get TO the other resorts, and take a taxi back if it is after park closing time.
