I'm going to the Contemporary January 26th! :goodvibes Got the buy 4 nights get 3 FREE! Cost is $2097.00 for a Magic Kingdom View, with a 1 day MYW pass (putting towards another annual pass) plus we'll get the $200 gift card (going towards the annual passes) and the Planet Hollywood vouchers, Sea Rayers boats and minature golf. I hope that's a good rate.

Anyway, are there any tips or any particular room I should ask for? Also, is there a microwave oven in the hotel?

thanks all!!!

On the other hand, I feel bad for guests booked at the Poly between now and March, as the GF pool is also closed for rehab and they are ALSO being told to use the Poly pool....that is going to be a crowded pool. :scared1:

The GF pool is only scheduled to be closed until 1/23 I believe, so the GF folks won't be over at the Poly for too long...and then only if they want a themed pool, the quiet pool at the GF is still open :thumbsup2

in an earlier phot of the BLT pool (by someone parasailing), it looks like the building shades the pool from sun. I hope this really isn't the case. What time of day was the photo taken??

I see what you're saying. (btw, the pic in question can be found on pages 180 & 181 of this thread).

I know the Bay Lake Tower view at the contemporary (the view that overlooks the pool & Bay Lake) faces EAST. So the DVC pool looks to have a similar setup, only difference being the wrap-around design of the DVC tower looks like it could potentially block some late afternoon/early evening sunlight.

I believe that pic was taken in late December (a couple of weeks ago), and the sun is shining from the South - so from those two pieces of information, I'm sure someone can estimate the approximate time of the photo. However, remember that this pic was taken very close to the winter solstice (shortest day of the year), so it's not going to be indicative of the sun/shade you should expect on the DVC pool the majority of the year.

Really, the only direction the pool is completely "blocked" from is West - so the majority of the year, the only time the pool should be "shaded" is in the evening.

Hope that helps.

If you want to stay as high as possible request a room on the 11th floor, since it's the highest non Club Level floor on the Tower. Besides that there is a microwave you can use anytime for whatever you want at the Contempo Cafe.

Or in any suites at the CR?

:lmao: You must have a family like mine!

You can see photographs of the "junior suite" in the garden wing at post 88 or http://www.wdwinfo.com/photos/contemporary/room2/index.htm Doesn't look like there are two bathrooms.

I don't know personally but the 14th Floor suites with multiple bedrooms surely have more than one bathroom.

CR4L will come along shortly and he will know for sure.

Showed my family the price difference and that we could have a MK view for the price of the suites. So since we are only 3...we'll stay with our current reservation heheh

Is there a charge to use the fitness center at the Contemporary if you are a guest at the Contemporay?

Honestly I don't know either since we never stayed in one of their suites.

Staying with my sister on the concierge level at the end of the month. I like to begin my day with a good walk (believe or not). When I am at BWV or BCV I can walk around Crescent Lake. Are there any walking trails/paths around the Contemporary or do I just need to walk on the treadmill?
Thanks for your help in advance.

There are some trails around the garden wing, and you can also walk to the Magic Kingdom and back (it takes 10-15 minutes to get there).

The treadmill would also work, because you can use CR's gym for free.

I agree with walking to the Magic Kingdom and back. In fact that's something my mom does a lot when we stay there. Besides that working out at the gym on the 3rd floor and using the treadmill is also a good idea.
