Hi everyone.
Does anyone have experience with the living seas salon? I was considering this location for my reception, as I am also planning to have a DP in Epcot. What is their F/B min, etc? Is is more casual or can it be "dressed up" a bit? AND... would there be any way to arrange for a wedding party ride on Soarin? I would just love for some of my guests who have never been to Disney to experience that. Would I be permitted to go on the ride if im in a wedding dress?
Thanks!
Amy

You aren't allowed on the rides in your dress but yes you can buy a ride out for your guests, its pretty expensive though.

There are many couples who had living seas for their reception. spacerangerqueen wrote a planning journal for her wedding, which included a living seas reception, might be worth a look: http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=2069464&highlight=the+living+seas

When it comes to dessert party minimums it really depends on the location of your dessert party within Epcot. I think there are at least 10 options but the most popular seems to be UK lochside. Lurkyloo kindly posted pictures of the view you get from lochside and a few other locations in the following thread:

With regards to riding Soarin' as Chilly said you can but it's very expensive. Lurkyloo recently did an anniversary party in DHS and to keep the tower of terror open for a ride it was $6,500. I'm sure I did read somewhere however that you can ride as a group without buying out the ride - someone else may be able to elaborate.

Oh no.. I definately don't want to buy out the ride. I just thought that maybe they can grab a few of us and sneak us past the line??

Thank you for the links, leonix!
Like I said, I definately dont want to pay the $6500 for it. I thought that if you had the reception during park hours that they may be able to do that.

I did a quick search of the boards and it seems you can all go on Soarin' together for a fee of around $15 - $20 each but you cannot wear your wedding dress - they may let you through though in a white cocktail dress?

We had our reception at the Living Seas on a night of Extra Magic Hours at EPCOT. The reception ended at 9:00 and all of wedding party and friends played in EPCOT until 12. We changed first and sent our recpetion clothes back with our parents to their hotel. It was so much fun.

How were you all able to enjoy the park? Did everyone have tickets? Or did you have to pay extra for this? It sounds great!!!!

Well there are really two answers, there is what was supposed to happen and what happened.

When we asked our planner about it, we were told that after the reception, anyone wanting to stay in EPCOT would be escorted to the main gate and would have to scan their tickets.

This did no happen though, they basically just let us out into the park. Everyone who wanted to ride rides did eed to be a resort guest however, since it was extra magic hours.

Are the rules at DL different? Because Jennifer's wedding pictures (PB&J - Rose Court, Animation building in DCA, Soarin') show her riding Soarin' in her wedding gown.

Probably—Disneyland weddings and Disney World weddings have almost no crossover in policies, options, etc. It's only recently that WDW has begun prohibiting brides from going on the rides in their gowns, too. You can find pix from weddings a few years back where the bride is on a ride in her gown.

Thanks, everyone. I guess I will just de-stress on this one until I talk to a planner, lol.
I guess I just thnk that if people are spending so much money to enjoy their wedding at their park that they should get extra privledges! :snooty: It irks me a bit that that is not always the case, but I'll get over it.
