The Laundry Will Be Folded When I Finish Booking ADRs updtd 11/6Never Dones!

Okay, list of things we have in common:
1. We are both teachers!
2. We are both southern gals living in NC!
3. We both love Disney! :lovestruc

Also, I can TOTALLY see the Bob Saget-ness in your husband! That's so cool! He looks just like him!

YAY for MVMCP! I think it's worth it to ditch the DxDP so you can go! It looks amazing!

Thanks! I am excited about it!

And I did something so unprecidented, they'll be talking about this on the babnana thread forever--I changed the dining plan to the DDP from the DxDP. And I'm left with a shell of my former reservations, but I'm happy with that. I also know there are a couple of meals I'll be paying out of pocket, but it still works out better cost wise.

...

And your Babnanas are proud.::yes::

And your Babnanas are proud.::yes::

.

You won't believe how hard that decision was for me. . .dropping all of those signature meals. But here's the crux of the matter: when I thought of eating that food and how hard I've worked to be so close to losing 10 pounds, I thought that I didn't want to gain anything back in the 6 days I was on vacation.

And I want a little freedom. It's a bit of the pirate: in me.

Some weeks are great.

Some not so great.

After an okay Monday, it's becoming more and more evident to me that this week may fall under the category of not so great. Melancholy even.

And in reality, planning a Disney trip usually turns the week around. And I probably should really be planning right now, but I keep thinking:

"Did I send that piece of paperwork in?"

"Why was I so harsh with that teacher? She really was trying to help."

"Can I hit fast forward to the weekend?"

And I've tried assuaging my problems with taking the trip binder with me to work. :rolleyes1

Yeah, it stood in my "teacher bag" all pretty all day, waiting to be opened and pour out the Pixie Dust. Poor Tinker Bell. She couldn't even spread her wings. She was stuffed in that binder all day long. Today I didn't even bother. The binder sat lonely on my desk at home all day. No one to even wistfully look at it. What was the point in lugging it? It wasn't coming out.

I did leave it open, though, so Tink could fly around the house today.

You know I should have taken it, but all I do is whisper sweet nothings. . .

"As soon as I grade these papers, I'll look at you."

"As soon as M counts to 6 for me, I'll peer through your pages."

"As soon as I write these goals for the IEP. . ."

"As soon as I finish this 30 minute observation."

"As soon as I have a not so pleasant word with J for not turning in her PowerPoint presentation."

And on, and on, and on. And as I look at my feable excuses for not looking at my Disney binder, there is one glaring constant, one thing that becomes so apparent, that I can't believe I haven't seen it as being the reason for my melancholy. . .

WORK IS GETTING IN THE WAY OF PLANNING FOR MY DISNEY TRIP.

But without working, I can't go.

It's a vicious cycle that remains unbroken.

LOL I feel your pain as a teacher!! Today was one of those days I feel like it's going to be a long week!! I'm just treading the water!! So I'm with you!! I hope you're able to find some time to do some planning soon....sounds like you need some of Tink's Pixie dust...and feel free to send me some too LOL

Oh, that is the crux, isn't it?

We work to afford Disney.

Just remember, tomorrow is another day

Again, 70 days (but really 69, since I'm driving down the night before!)

nice update!!

Once again we're going to miss each other by a few days!!!

Your binder puts my Oct one to shame but better than nothing right? I did do an excel type sheet to keep track of our DDP credits which was a new add for me!

I'm loving your dinner on Dec. 22nd....:thumbsup2

Love the binder and still envious of the spreadsheet!

:thumbsup2 on the spreadsheet!

I knew the Legomama would approve of that dinner. And lookie on that day! NO ADRS!

Love the binder and still envious of the spreadsheet!

.

I can't take full credit for the spreadsheet--I've modified one from over at Tour Guide Mike, although mine is so modified, it really does not resemble the original anymore.

I'm in awe of your spreadsheets and your organization!! WOWZERS!!! Very impressive!!!!

You have some great ADRs you will definitely be eating well!!! Can't wait to see those food photos!

great up date:thumbsup2

Thanks, Hallie!

Thanks, Jen. I can't live unless I'm organized. Even if it's just a bit of organized chaos!

And I think I am going to do a dining review again this year. I went back and forth about it, but I think since I'm just doing the ddp, I will (less meals to take photos of, of course.)

Yay for completed ADRs! That's a serious binder you have going there. I guess it needs to be to contain the holy grail. ;)

I'll go weeks and weeks without visiting Facebook. Then, there will be a plethora of status changes. One right after the other. This weekend, it started with something along the lines of "Lee Corso is a nut", which I was proved right about when the University of South Carolina toppled the Crimson Tide. It followed with Nick Saben's comment about being beaten by (the real) USC. Then a comment about the laundry (which is, by the way, folded, thankyouverymuch) and the Pirates of the Caribbean marathon on USA.

But none of the statuses on Facebook match this one:

"I wonder if I'll ever settle on a resort. 5 minutes til 10 I'm on the phone with Disney Travel Company changing resorts yet again. Back to French Quarter. The beignets are calling my name."

Yes, ladies and maybe one gentleman, I have changed yet again.

Here's why:

I thought briefly of booking a flight down. Southwest's rates are right now around $275 for a round trip.

Then I realized something: I don't want to be without my car.

And I realized something else: I really don't want to stay at POP Century.

And this time, it's not a resort snob thing. It's a, "I'm going to be by myself and I don't want to be at a big resort" thing.

Sure, the rooms are newer at POP. The TV is better.

But, at POFQ, the resort is smaller, the food court better (beignets, anyone), and I feel closer to home. I look back at my pictures last year of the Sassagoula River and I realize, I want to take the boat over to DTD for brunch at Wolfgang Puck Express. I want a lazy walk of the Sassagoula River. I want a beignet without worrying about getting somewhere else because the beignets are right within reach early in the morning.

So, I'm back there. At home.

And I guess driving won't be so bad.

I knew it could come to this!!!!

I've been talking my mom into upgrading to a Moderate when she goes to visit my brother this weekend but of course everything is booked because it's a holiday tomorrow and I guess people are taking off for the week.

You will be happy at home and won't regret the decision!!!
