Thank you! It is breaking our hearts to see her go through this, and it is just the beginning. I can't imagine junior high :guilty:

Junior high is such a hard time in a kid's life. I hope she's able to handle the bullies by then.

It's crazy cold here in Texas. The electric grid can't handle all the extra power usage, so there will scheduled outages. Not too bad in a well insulated house, but I feel bad for DH working in a metal building with garage doors.

It's 17 here without the windchill. My mom in North Texas was at 6.

The world has gone crazy. Crazy I tell ya! :confused3 We're up to 36 right now, I'm hoping for some heavy rain to melt some of the snow and ice, but it's supposed to be below freezing again tonight.

...I was thinkin' more along the lines of:

Sorry Kimmar, doesn't ring any bells. Then again if it's supposed to be the late 70's, I was only 11-13 then. :rolleyes1 I was listening to disco and I was into Tiger Beat magazine, Shaun Cassidy and Scott Baio. I don't recall this song playing on popular radio stations either. Sorry to let your Jersey inside joke go to waste. :(
...well, snap, wanna take a whack at it?

...welcome to MY world.

Your world stinks! I want Texas back!

...my DS's car has a solid sheet of ice on it...

And this song is dedicated to Kerrie:

I can see clearly now the pain is gone...

Well another interesting day in The Big City. A traffic cop was hit in the head by falling ice outside my building. EMS came to check her out. Huge sheets of ice falling off the roofs (my building is 60 stories) and slamming into the window and crashing into the street below. :scared1:

Snap, I'm so sorry about your grandniece. DD had major issues with being bullied when she was younger, and has even had some issues recently. The most recent incidents were coming from girls that she went to grammar school with that she doesn't even go to school with anymore. :sad2:

A solid sheet of ice on a car definitely stinks!

Our dogs' water bowl is frozen solid.

Being hit in the head by ice falling off a skyscraper REALLY stinks!

Wickey, I may not remember the 70s, but I was a child of the 80s and I remember the clothes and hair of that decade. I came of age in the 90s and had a grunge faze. Flannel and combat boots... :lmao:

I need pictures!!!!

A little OT but I was cleaning up my spare room last weekend and came across an 8 x 10 photo of me when I was 21. I can't believe how old I've gotten. I looked at that picture and thought "wow, I was pretty". Then I started crying.

I hardly ever think of my age in those kinds of terms but it really hit me when I saw that picture.

Pakey -- you are beautiful! :grouphug: Don't let being a few years older get to you . . . you are a strong, kind and fun lady.

I got nothin'.

I was one little step ahead of you - I had DAVID Cassidy on the cover of my Tiger Beat! :woohoo:

Those Cassidy brothers -- swoon!!!!

I heard the news about the rolling brown outs right after I had a shower -- hair wet, no makeup. It would NOT have been pretty if I had lost power at that point.

I just hit myself in the eye with a wooden spoon.

Punishing yourself?

That is crazy! I want it to be 70 again here in Texas. I do not like the cold. :headache:
