...well, it POURED here ALL DAY Saturday [to the point of flash flooding] and then it was sunny yesterday, but we had gusts of 30mph winds all day...it's sunny today, but really chilly...

Yuck. Sorry about that.

We had horrible rain Saturday night, yesterday morning we're getting ready to go to the city and DH finds a flood in the basement I didn't know, I'm upstairs in the shower and the poor guy was down there trying to vacuum up the water - he was exhausted last night

Could we please have your rain? The fires here are a bit much. My mom was evacuated on Friday. 3 homes were lost. 100 acre fire burned in Austin yesterday, 6-10 homes lost. Last night it was 50% contained. Not sure how it is now. DH was taking my suburban to work, but now I want to keep it in case we have to bug out. The ground is parched.

Can you believe it? West Texas is burning, Central Texas is burning, we've had several smaller grass fires around here too.

New Jersey is flooded and Texas is on fire. Can't the big hair states share some love? The extra water can put out our fires and there will be big hair harmony.

OMG. Trying to diet here people -- remember the big wedding coming up? I'm down 12 lbs since January 1. I have at least 13 more to go!!!!

R is a wild child. She turned 2 in Dec. She's too stinkin cute, but completely insane.

Little V is a sweetie. She's such a good baby.

Are you on facebook? I have pictures there, but I haven't updated much lately. S is always on my facebook acct, farming.

Yikes, Kerrie -- I didn't realize she was close to that one. This is as of yesterday from the Texas Forest Service web site (I used to do communications for them, so I always read it when they have fires or respond to other situations):

WICHITA COUNTY COMPLEX, Wichita County. 11,785 acres, 90 percent contained. The complex is made up of three fires – Iowa West, Holiday, Missile – burning around Wichita Falls. Shepard Air Force Base was threatened, as were hundreds of homes and apartment complexes around the area. Twenty homes are reported destroyed.

At least it is 90% contained. Hope they get it completely out soon.
