Ok, I just asked this as an outside thread, but what specific room sections should I request if I want to view the fireworks? I know I want to face Hourglass Lake, but what sections, what rooms? Thanks all! Just narrowing down specifics

There is a Bank One ATM in Classic Hall, between the check in area and Everything Pop.

I'd just request a view of the lake and IlluimiNations! That'll work! We had that view in the 50's , but others have had it other sections as well

We were in the 70's, right next to the big wheel, and we walked out our door when we heard the fireworks start (thanks to the DIS I knew what the booming was ) We looked to the right, towards the 50's section, and we could even see little bits of the fireworks above the buildings. Just barely, and just the high ones, but still:

1 night at Pop Century: $77
Dinner at Everything Pop: $25
Souvenirs for the family: $40
Seeing fireworks from a value resort: PRICELESS

Is Everything POP open well before the parks open and well after the last one closes? I am a "commando" style park-hopper, and I'm trying to decide if it's worth it for me to buy a refillable mug. If Everything POP is closed when we leave in the morning and again when we return at the end of the night, I don't think I'd ever get a refill!

Depends on how many days you intend to stay and how many days, if any, you choose to rest at the resort rather than hit the parks. The food court is open early so you could stop in for an early breakfast before hitting the parks. I managed to get in a full breakfast before EMH at MK with no problems. Sipped on my coffee : on the ride over and stored my mug and jacket in a locker. If you stay until the last of the fireworks and ride the bus back to Pop the food court will be closed. So, if you look at it purely financially, you'll need about 5-6 drinks to break even. But even with fewer drinks you still have a useful souvenir from Pop C. Enjoy your trip!!

Ok I have 2 questions, I think both are easy to answer.

I am going to WDW in Sept and I am staying at Pop Century. Are the crowds pretty low during this time of year?

And, seriously, how long are the bus rides from Pop Century to the parks? Like how long will it be from when I get on the bus until when I get off the bus? I'm just curious because Pop Century looks like it is far away from MK.

The bus ride will be 13-15 minutes, give or take depending on lights or traffic.

WDW is 43 square miles, but that is just under a 7 mile by 7 mile square. Busses are reasonable transportation for the distances involved. just don't use DTD for a transport hub unless you are in a DTD are resort.

We stayed there in September last year ( the week of the 17-25.) It really wasn't 'too' bad. The busses were pretty crowded around 9:30am when we went to the parks and then right before and after night shows like Wishes, Spectro, Illuminations & Fantasmic. We noticed that the Pop busses from the MK in the evenings had LOOOOOONG waits to get back after Wishes on the nights that Spectro ran. The one time we waited for about 1 hour and 45 minutes and the line hadn't moved at all so a group of us got on the monorail, got off at the Contemporary, took the bus to DTD and then took the bus from DTD back to Pop. We did notice that after we left to get on the monorail the busses started coming more frequently.

The longest bus ride is to and from the MK, but it really isn't all that bad. I'd say about 12 minutes. The rest were really quick! There were quite a few times when we stood (especially going to DTD at night because all the parks were closed so everyone was going there,) but the rides were short so it wasn't bad.

Has anyone ever had a cake delivered to there room at Pop Century? Or does anyone know even if they do this at POP? I had one delivered at AKL.

After reading this thread and checking out Tyler's map I changed from prefered to regular view. DD wanted to stay in the Lady building anyway. With a AAA discount we were able to save $100.00 with the $84.00 rate. Not bad since AP is $74.00 and I don't have to worry anymore about codes. Now all I have to do is wait and wait and wait. Get the impresssions that I am not a patient person!

Hey, that's great! If DD would like to be able to see Lady you might want to request a view of Lady! That might mean being in Tramp building, but facing Lady..sounds pretty cool!

I am fresh back from a mid-february solo trip staying at the Pop, and I loved it! The theming, the Twinkie Tiramisu, all of it! hehe Now I see many people on here wanting to make sure that they do not have rooms that expose them to pool noise, etc. I am the oposite. I stayed ground level in the 60s (preferred room) with a room right off the pool. Yes there was noise but I liked that and all the hustle bustle of people going too and from the parks. I have made a res for late may/early June in a preferred room again and was wondering if there was any advice on when to call/write (which is best?) to see if I can get in a similar room next time? I have seen some people say the week before, 3 days before, ???
