What are the odds of getting two connecting rooms with king beds? Do these even exist? :confused3
King beds are in limited supply, and can be hard to get at times.

All king bed rooms (standard or accessible) will connect with a standard double bed room.

Does anyone happen to have a pic of a room with a king size handicap accessible shower? We want to get a 4th floor king size bed if at all possible & from what I have read here that would mean an accessible room. (I know they would first go to anyone who needs it.)

The reason I am asking is because we stayed at a local hotel this weekend and they put us in a handicap accessible room. The shower head was obviously lowered with good reason but it could not be raised up high enough for my husband to get under it. One night was not a big deal but I don't think my dh would want to do this for a whole week. Thanks!

All 4th floor kings will be accessible rooms. Standard kings only go up to the 3rd floor.

It's been awhile since I've been in one, but if my memory serves me correctly, the shower head is still at a decent level. I know some poster posted pics of that type of shower... hopefully they can remind us of the link :)

A friend asked me for info on Pop Century ... so I'm 'bumping' this tread and sending her a link.

Just wanted to chime in that we're getting excited about our trip coming up in May. We have stayed at POP twice now - Sept 2004 & Jan 2005 - May 2005 will be our 3rd trip there in less than a year! :teeth: We're going down to celebrate our 5th wedding anniversary & also getting "one" more trip out of those AP's. I called this morning & booked with the AP discount & also booked our "Magical Express" service from the airport. Can't wait to be at POP again & can't wait to check out Disney's big 50th together with our 5th anniversary! :teeth:

The showerheads in the accessible rooms are at normal height - they are just the ones on a cord, so if you needed to, you could take if down.

(That was a terrible description, but hopefully you understand what I am getting at!)

These may have been addressed before, but I don't have time to go through all of these pages to find it! Any help would be appreciated! :goodvibes

We have a preferred room ressie for only two nights, after which we transfer to the Dolphin.

My first question is, do any of the preferred rooms at POP have king size beds? I know it is the 60's building, but has any one requested any specific room in the preferred location and been satisfied/not satisfied?

Next, has anyone tried to transfer from POP to the Swan/Dolphin? I know that some people have gotten help from Disney to do so, and some have been left to fend for themselves. Just wondering what anyone's transfer experience between these two hotels has been like....

TIA!!! :wizard:

Yes, there are king beds in the Preferred section. They are limited though, so they can be hard to get.

As for transferring, touch the Luggage button on your phone the night before you transfer. They will set up a time to pick up your bags and transfer them over to the Dolphin for you. You do not need to be in the room for this to happen.

I thought I asked this here, but now maybe it was another thread...........
Anyway, someone mentioned the arcade at POP. Is it good? we loved the one at Contemporary.....is it comparable?

My DS4 (oh my gosh, he's 4 now, that's the first time I wrote that) lovs the arcade at POP, and I think it's a good choice for his age. We also take the monorail to the CONT every trip to play games there. The games seem to be similar, but generally cost more at CONT, with less tickets given out. It is no where the size of the one at CONT, but it is nicer than the All stars game rooms.

Sidenote - my DS celebrated his birthday with a bag full of quarters to play games at POP this weekend. We also learned how to use the change dispensers and play colorama when he was 2 years old at POP.

Are all King rooms handicapped? I am so confused. Any help would be great...

No. Check out the first post in this thread for the exact count of King Typical and King Accessible. :)

I did read the first post but I got confused when I continued reading. I thought there were some regular king rooms, when I read the count, but later in the thread I thought people were saying that they were all handicapped. I didn't want to take a handicapped room away from someone who needed it because I requested a room with a king for my stay in June.

That first post will have all the true information.

As for taking it away from someone... typically, anyone who might require the roll in shower will book it in advance, and the room assigner will pre-block them in the room. So, if you do get an accessible room, you're not taking it away from someone.

Apologies if I am repeating anything but i have read this whole thread and do not think I am... (Definitely correct me and redirect me if you feel the need! hehe)

I have made 8am PS at Crystal Palace at MK and Donald's Breakfastosaurus at AK, and want to make sure that there will be buses at POP that will get me there in enough time. I have read that there are the Character Breakfast buses but then I read the actual Transportation sign in a picture at POP that says for AK the buses start 30min prior to park opening, which would be like 8:30am. Am I safe or should I make some calls?

Thanks for indulging this nervous newbie!

The busses start 30-45 minutes prior to the EARLEST PS at that park. Be SURE to catch the first bus :)

Buses to the theme parks for the purpose of playing in the parks start one hour prior to park opening time.

Buses for the purpose of Breakfasts will start 45 minutes prior to the first PS time for that specific area.

I am so excited!!! My wonderfully romantic husband has surprised me with a trip to my favorite place (WDW) for our 15th anniversary. We are going the first week in June. My only problem is he wants to stay at Pop Century to make me happy but the last time we stayed there (just after it opened) the room would not get cool enough for him. Has anyone else had this problem? Have they changed the air conditioning since they opened?

Congrats! We did that for our 15th too :)

The A/C is an often reported issue. I believe if you let the front desk know, they lower it on a case by case basis. Generally it is set to 70. After the first night, 70 is fine with me...
