Can any Pop Experts here tell me if there is Gatoraide or Poweraide availabe for free in the refillable mugs at the Food Court?? I hope so as we like to drink them in the hot weather in Florida..thanks.. :sunny:

I'm not an expert, maybe when I get back, but from all I've heard its just soda types and if your lucky apple juice. Not exactly a healthy thirst quincher. The mug makes a nice souvenir though:)

Thanks for the reply. Is that Winn Dixie 5-10 minutes away or 25-30 minutes away?

Ummm. I would say about 10-15 minutes from Pop. This was my first trip, so I am still pretty unfamiliar with the world outside of Disney, but we had no problem finding it.

I was thinking of going to the Walmart on 192 for all of my shopping needs. I figured they would have everything I need and better prices. Anybody ever go to the walmart?????

I have not used DME yet, but it is my understanding that you would take your luggage to the lobby and since you are on Delta you can check in with them in the lobby. I guess they have a room that they would store it in until closer to your flight time.

Ok, so do you take your luggage to the front desk or do they come and get it? Sorry if this sounds so dumb, but this is our first time at a value.

Also, will they bring it to your room when it arrives? And what about your carry-ons? When we arrive our room probably won't be ready. I know they'll hold them, but will they deliver them when we can get in our room? Thanks!

FUNNY! My 11 year old nephew is addicted to these too.....so am I. It's a coffee flavored syrup, found in all supermarkets along with the choclate milk mixes, tea, coffee etc. There are many different brands, i like Nestles the best. You add milk & ice and make a cool tasty drink.

I like the Nestle one too......I get it at Walmart, if all else fails, you could check the WM close to WDW!

Blueberry,

I just got back from a week at Pop and the answer to your question is no. You cannot get free refills of gatorade or powerade. What you can get is certain types of soft drinks, minute maid lemonade light, and apple juice. You can purchase the powerade or gatorade in the food court area. The prices are not as cheap as what you would pay at your local grocery store, I am sure. I hope that helps some even if it is info you didn't want to here.

We went to the new Super Walmart located at 3250 Vineland Road, in Kissimmee. It is very close to DTD & easy to get to. If you need more detailed directions let me know. HTH!

Hi ~ I'm going to be at PC October 3rd thru the 8th, and am very much looking forward to it! I'm giving the trip to my family [mom, sister, her four kids] as a big birthday present to them all, since we have some 'biggies' this year - mom turning 70 [Sept], niece turned sweet 16 [Jan], oldest nephew turned 18 [April] and graduated [June], middle nephew will be 13 next month. I'm paying for the rooms and tickets, we're all paying for our own food and extras. I want this trip to be amazing, not only because it's a huge birthday present to my family, but because this is really the first time most of them have been to WDW, much less all the parks and staying on-site! I went to MK once last year with friends in Sept 04, and then I brought my youngest nephew to MK, staying over at PC one night in Nov 04, but that's pretty much it! I love Disney, and I want to share that fabulous feeling with my family. :goodvibes

Anyway, I'm not sure how to ask this without sounding greedy, so I'm just gonna spit it out: I've seen posts about people getting 'special' things when they've notified Disney there's a birthday person in the traveling party. So first, if I let PC know the reason for the trip -namely multiple milestone birthdays- do you think they'd do something special for them? Second, if they won't, will I be able to get something special set-up in the rooms before check-in?

Does anyone know where the closest grocery store locations are if by traveling by car? The types of items I'm looking for are things like milk, cereal, fresh fruit, bread, cold cuts and canned soups.
Thank you

When I requested directions to the closest grocery store from the front desk, I was sent to the Publix just past the Gaylord Palms. It is very close to POP and I found the prices to be reasonable.
You make a left out of POP Century resort, turn left at the Light (you will see Wide World of Sports Complex straight ahead), follow this until you see the Gaylord Hotel (you can't miss it) and turn Right. Publix is down a little bit and on the Left, just before a big intersection.

Back2Disney is right. There is no powerade in the drink islands. (No Gatorade anywhere as it is not a Coca Cola product.) The Minute Maid Light was refreshing, but we didn't try the apple juice.

Each of our trips has overlapped with a birthday (typically my ds) and we have never received anything special from our resport. My dd was celebrating her 12th birthday when we were at WDW this June and nothing was done for her. She did decide she wanted to wear the birthday pin, so I picked one up at Guest Services for her. She enjoyed having the CMs wish her Happy Birthday on her day.

Sorry I can't be of more help.

Zandy595, thanks for the picture of the playground, that's exactly what I was looking for!

I would suggest a gift box from a fellow dis'er! http://www.peggyssweetsandmore.com/
I am using her for my upcoming trip and her creations look absolutely beautiful and every report I have ever heard has been wonderful!!! Just do a search and you will see! SHe has some special Birthday themed boxes and baskets!!!

I just had to go check her page out! I can't wait to use her when we arrive at Disney next May. I'll have a 2 graduates, 1 High School and 1 8th Grade as well as an anniversary all in the same trip!

Her prices seem quite reasonable. princess:

I did notice the lime green antenna topper in one of the pictures of her merchandise! Gotta love that DIS lime green! :cheer2:

Hmmmm....I got told from another post about a month ago that she isn't doing it anymore? :confused3 If she does do them....please let me know.

Back to the Grocery store question - When we went down years ago we would just go to Goodings outside of Downtown Disney - they had double coupons, etc. now I find them very expensive. So on one of the last trips I asked one of the CM's -- he told me all the locals go to Publix - they are the most reasonable and I've found out he was right! We've also gone to the Target Greatland on the way from the airport.

Hi, local here! :wave2: Yes, we all shop at Publix. ::yes:: Well... a lot of us, anyway. ;) I live in Lakeland, which is about 45 minutes away from Disney, and Publix' main headquarters happens to be here. There are Publix [Publixes? Publici? I'm not what the plural would be :rotfl: ], which is employee-owned, in Florida, Georgia, South Carolina, Alabama and Tennessee. The ones I've been in are always clean, the employees polite and helpful, and the prices are reasonable.

No, you did help; you answered my question. Thank you. :)

Also, if I could ask - I've gotten our tickets from AAA, and they've sent lanyards and a starter pin with each. I've heard, of course, about the pins, but I didn't know there was a birthday-specific one. The only birthday in our party that is close to October is my mom's, and, of everyone going, I would love for her to get the little extra bit of attention; how does the pin work?

I checked out the site, and you're right, she does some really lovely work ~ it's definitely something I'd consider. I actually was thinking about a cake, decorations, that kind of thing. I guess if they don't have anything, I could just get there before everyone else and...do it myself!!! :wizard:
