Hi gang. Trying to plan a trip for Dec '08. We're on a budget so Pop it is (or POSSIBLY ASmu). Anyway, which buildings are close to the busstop/food court but NOT considered preferred? I don't want to pay extra, and don't mind a little walk. We've done CBR before so we KNOW how long a walk can really be!

The 50's section or 70's would be the next closest. We really liked the 50's because its close to the pool and laundry room. Even the farthest rooms at Pop aren't extremely far from the food court, etc.

No, that's not true. There are doors on the bathrooms.

I second that! Definitely doors on the bathrooms! I'm no teenager but I definitely need a door on my bathroom!

Oh, my! Must have been a typo - definitely a door on the bathroom!

Sink is outside the bathroom, but shower and commode definitely behind that door!

I bet you read how there isn't a door or curtain between the sink area and the bedroom. some of the bigger resorts have that, and people like that so they can get dressed there while others are stil sleeping.

We're staying at POP for 1 night before moving over the Poly. I'm so excited to get to stay at both of these resorts.

Would you bother with a request for one night? What would it be? Should I book preferred or standard? We'll not be doing any parks during our stay at POP, so the bus stop will be a non-issue. Preferred will cost a total of $11.

We are staying at Pop for one night too. I wouldn't bother with reserving a preferred room. We requested 50's section, pool view. We stayed in that section a couple of years ago and loved it so I hope we get it again but for only one night we'll take whatever is available. Have fun!

Have I read that people bring tension rod and rig a curtain here??

I wonder what the distance would be for a tension rod?

If you don't want to bother with the tension rod, just pack two command adhesive(removable)hooks. You can just hook the shower curtain across by hooking it thru the holes. We tried it and while it works, keep in mind it does add a bit of a ghetto touch to your themed room.

Ok, I got one for ya!!!! How many drawers are in the dresser at POP?? I'm just thinking ahead of what I can fit in those!!!! Thanks!!

There are 3 small and 3 larger ones. The small ones are on the left and the larger ones are on the left. There are also 3 cubby holes above the smaller drawers. The top cubby has the tissues in it. Then there is the 1 drawer in the night stand and the cubby below that drawer.

I thought of another question..... Does anyone know how much laundry soap costs??? Apparently you can't take laundry soap in any form in your checked baggage anymore. Something in it can be flamable??!! Go figure

The safes look small when you first open them but you'd be surprised at how much then can fit. I was able to fit an older, larger Dell laptop in the safe with enough room for two wallets. The laptop was a little longer and a little thicker than a 5 subject notebook.

Thanks Jenn - yes, I have an older laptop that seems longer, wider, thicker and heavier than the "standard" ones sold now.
I guess we'll take a chance on bringing it to upload photos - I can always pop in POC and drool @ Jack all the way to FL!
