Don't let the Negatives scare you! We had no trouble on the buses .Only had to stand a couple of times and they really keep them coming at the peak times. Also while Pop is the last stop at all the parksit's not like it's a really long way. Allstars are just before Pop and not sure of order before them!!It is realyy nice to have no other stops unless it's one of the Beaches!

So has anybody visited the bar at the Pop? Are the drinks good?

I had a strawberry daquari and it was nothign special, but htey gave my 2YO one for free. It was expensive though. Dh Had had 2 beers and my drink and it was lover 20 dollars I beleive.

OOps Iwas one smoking but not the ONE I thought I was smoking in allowed areas as there wer ash trays at the tables around the pool and those Smoking pole things there also outside Classic. This was what I did if someone was eating I would sit at a table away from them at the pool I usually sat near Petals Bar. Guilty as charged of smoking on walkway but hardly anyone passed me by and my DGD also has asthma and as long as I smoke in the open it doesn't bother her, it's just in acar or insideNever would smoke in line I'm not going to risk burning someone. At the Parks I smoked in the smoking areas when I could find them and if none around crpt off to a secluded area where I usually was joined by another. I acn't say I saw anyone smoking in line and as a smoker I would have been equally as mad!! That is double jeopardy smoke and burns!!

I don't smoke, but I never care if others are. But I don't think at the hotel there is a designated spot yet. I thought it was jsut outside. I know that is to change, but when I was there in March, I didn't see smoking only sections. My DH does smoke, and he would take a walk every morning while smoking. But I was told before we went that there wasn't designated spots and the pool was where alot of people did smoke.

I am new to the board, and I haven't been to WDW in 15 years.

I am going on a family trip in September and staying at POP. I'm really excited, but I usually start marathon training in September. Is there a place I can get a morning run in around POP?

Also, I am worried about the transportation from POP to the parks. Is it any kind of a problem? How much time does it take to get from POP to the Magic Kingdom? And would it be worth it to go to Epcot and then just take the monorail to the MK?

Thanks everyone!

I think it would take twice as long to get to MK going to EPCOT first then monorailing it. It takes about 15 mintues on the monorail ride itself. The bus ride to MK, once on is only about 15 too.

I haven't managed to read this whole thread so the answer to my question may well be in there somewhere ;)

Basically how do I request a fridge for our room (DD can only drink lactose reduced milk which I buy and keep in the fridge) and how much would it cost?

I'll be booking our room through www.disneyworld.co.uk in the next few days :thumbsup2

Thanks

It normally costs $10 a day, but they will give you a fridge in your room free for medical reasons. Just tell them when you make your reservation that you need it for medical reasons for DD. You can take a note from your doctor along in case you need it, but they didn't ask us for documentation when we were there two weeks ago. (DGD needed it for medicine.) It wasn't in the room when we got there but we mentioned the need when we checked in and it was there within a couple of hours. Have a great trip.

I don't care if adults want to smoke thats their choice but when it jepordizes my childs health thats another story. I am still amazed that adults knowing full well the danger of smoking would do it around children.

I am THRILLED beyond thrilled of the new changes being put in place.

Hi everyone, I am new to the Pop thread although I have been reading it for about a year. My daughter and granddaughters ages 4 and 9 and I are going to be at the Pop Century Sept. 29-Oct. 11 of this year. I have gotten so much information from all of you Disney pros for which I am thankful and was wondering if you could answer a question for me. My 4 yr. old will probably need an afternoon break, My question is do the buses run all day from resort to park and vise-versa? :cheer2:

Your Grandkids will love Pop mine did this April/May.A tip when eating at the food court if you want a sundae you have 1 hour to get it so you can eat first and then go get your sundae! The kids loved getting 3 different scoops of icecream , whipped cream sprinkle and of course a cherry on Top. This is an adult meal I'm talking about but the sundaes are big enough to share and it's also a s.c.!!

Seriously, no worries about the busses. We LOVED our stay at Pop (and we were worried since we had never stayed at a value before!) The busses came very frequently and we didn't stand very often unless it was right after something major like a park closing, parade, or night show. The only LONG lines we encountered were right after Wishes and they were LOOOOOONG. However, they were long for everything, and the Pop busses came more frequently. We actually had to witness a guest verbally bashing a CM because they were waiting at DTD/PI for Caribbean Beach busses which was right beside the Pop stop and 4 Pop busses had come and no CB busses had. We had many more bus issues staying at POFQ! So save your $$$ and stay at Pop :) :)

Here is my link to our Trip report when we stayed there. It was in 2004, so it's been a while, but I did mention the busses quite a bit :)

I recently returned from a great trip to POP. It was my 2nd stay there. Last year I remember thinking the bus ride back from MK being long but this year they have clocks on the bus and it was always a 15 minute ride. I must have been more tired last year.:rotfl:

Our first night we went to MK for EMH and left MK at 11:50pm-it was closing at midnight. I could not believe how long the Pop bus lines were. :scared1: I was really worried but the started loading 2 or 3 buses at a time and we only waited 20 minutes. I didn't think that was too bad. We had great bus service the entire trip.

I called POP's reservation call center two days ago because DD can not have milk/products and I must bring/buy soy. I have a doctor's note as well. I told the person the situation. She informed me that medical refrig. are only small enough to store medication and will never be able to store the soy, in which case I MUST PAY for a regular size refrigerator, even WITH the doctor's note. So unless she is giving me the wrong info., which, if she is can someone please tell me and also tell me what to do (please?), the refrig. for medication sound more like a lunch box size.:confused3

Are any of the frig. swaps avaliable for your time frame? You could get one free that way. :goodvibes

Just call back and tell them you need a refrigerator for medical reasons - no need to go into all of the details of why. The refrigerator is a dorm sized refrigerator which can hold several quarts of milk at a time. I think a gallon sized container of milk would fit in the main section without a rack.

The picture below is the same size/style as the ones we have always gotten at POP. I have gotten the refrigerator the past 3 trips at POP for medical reasons and the size has been the same each and every time.

Hope this helps.

For us $10 a day was worth getting a fridge. We needed it for meds and special food for our son. If I needed to cut cost on vacation this isn't the one I would choose.
