Hot Hot Hot!!!!! :sunny: I've heard some say its not as bad as mid summer. I've been in September and June, they both felt the same to me:confused3

We were there last Sept. and it was about high 80's into the 90's and sometimes it rained which was cold other than that it is HOT!! Be prepared. Hope this helps.

We are staying at POP this year for the first time. I was wondering is there anyway to get to the food court area without walking through the shop. My dd can not stand to have money and feels an uncontrollable yearning to spend every bit of it when ever she enters a store.

Yes, there is a door all the way to the right of the main entrance to Classic Hall. It leads directly into the food court. This is the door we usually took just because it was somewhat of a pain to walk through the store all the time.

Willow - You saved me from more meltdowns with my kids then you'll ever know! Thank you thank you thank you!

Willow- I agree with these guys! You are a lifesaver, as my kids can't walk through a shop without wanting everything they see either...! Of course they never get it, but why fight if you can help it right? :thumbsup2

Glad I could help everyone!! I never really thought about that angle - my kids are older and had their own money to spend (relatives gave them money for the trip). My daughter did go to the store almost every day to buy a charm for her bracelet but she did this on her own.

A random question. We are staying at POP in August/September and although I have seen a few pics of POP at night I can't judge the lighting. So my question is: What is the lighting like around paths, carparks, pools etc at night?

I have a few of POP at night. Not so much the walks, but you can get a generalized idea I think, it's fairly bright, so you shouldn't have a problem! I have no idea what the parking lots are like though.:goodvibes

So has anybody visited the bar at the Pop? Are the drinks good?

The drinks are okay....nothing great. Expensive though! I paid like $6.00 for a Pina Colada that didn't seem like it even had any alcohol in it....very watered down. It may have been just how that particular bartender made it. After the first one, I never went back.
On the other hand, DH and I REALLY liked the drinks at Rainforest Cafe in DTD!

The featured specialty drinks at all the pool bars are very weak! If you get a regular drink, like a bloody mary or a bourbon and coke, I think they are fine. I had a hula hoop at the pool bar and it had a good flavor but minimal alcohol.

We just returned from a week at Pop. We really loved it. Unless we win the lottery and can afford Poly, I think we will always stay there, even over the moderates. The rooms were very adequate, the beds were comfy, the air conditioning worked fine and we never had a problem with it shutting off, they were not noisy at all, and it was not a long walk to the main building from anywhere. The pool was nice, the splash pad was great, CM's were nice, the food court was as good as any food court and better than many, and bus service was efficient. :cheer2: As far as noise is concerned, my son's apartment is much noisier - you can hear any time a neighbor takes a bath or runs water in any way. For the sink stopper issue, if you take one of those circles of rubber that are given out as jar openers, they usually work well as a sink stopper and take up almost no space. I took a night light since we had young kids in the room, but the light by the hair dryer was probably an adequate night light for most people. (I hate stumbling around an unfamiliar room in the dark!) There were bunny rabbits and families of ducks wandering around the grounds, which were very attractive and well kept. :yay:

I Ditto PittyPat, Pop rocks. DD tried the Poolbar and said the drink wasn't good, but she got one of those fancy ones too.I loved seeing the ducks in the poolevery morning' My next trip it will be Pop again!!

Just got back on Sunday we LOVED IT!!!!!!!!!!! Only huge complaint was all the people smoking outside, in areas where they arent allowed too. DD has asthma and it was a nightmare. How can adults do this to children? By the goofy jets people were sitting on the bench smoking. I was furious!!! Our floor was no smoking at least the row we were in. A lady brought a pool chair up 2 floors so she could smoke outside her non smoking room. DD had to pass her everytime we left our room. We called the desk and they said she had to be a certain ways away from the building. Not 2 inches from her door. Finally after 3 calls to the desk about her they had to send someone to her room. Not sure what happen but that afternoon she was gone.

There are places clearly ment for smoking, geesh!

We will stay there again next year, hopefully with better luck with the neighbors.

Sadly, this problem isn't limited to the POP. We had problems with people smoking in lines last year! :scared1: Poor DS was wheezing by the time we got thru the hour long wait for Big Thunder Mountain.:sad2:

OOps Iwas one smoking but not the ONE I thought I was smoking in allowed areas as there wer ash trays at the tables around the pool and those Smoking pole things there also outside Classic. This was what I did if someone was eating I would sit at a table away from them at the pool I usually sat near Petals Bar. Guilty as charged of smoking on walkway but hardly anyone passed me by and my DGD also has asthma and as long as I smoke in the open it doesn't bother her, it's just in acar or insideNever would smoke in line I'm not going to risk burning someone. At the Parks I smoked in the smoking areas when I could find them and if none around crpt off to a secluded area where I usually was joined by another. I acn't say I saw anyone smoking in line and as a smoker I would have been equally as mad!! That is double jeopardy smoke and burns!!
