We used ME and our luggage was in our rooms before us . We did pack extra set of clothes and swimsuits in carryons though!! Going back we ahd to handle our own as we flew SW. But it really wasn't bad!!

I could be wrong but i thought there were towels by the elevators on first floor in 60's building. :confused3 seems like we got towles there for the pool..

just got back yesterday. No towels by the pools. They tell you to call housekeeping and ask for extras. They bring them within minutes.

However, if you need 4 extra towels for swimming, ask for 8 when you call. That way, you don't have to call and ask for 4 more the next day. :cool1:

We flew SW in Oct and used ME. I had everything we would want for heading to the parks in our carry-on bags (it was tough finding sunscreen in a 3 oz. bottle, but I finally did!).

As it turned out, that hadn't been necessary, as our bags arrived in our room before we left (about 2 hours after our arrival).

If you choose to pick up your own luggage at baggage claim instead of having ME do it for you, you should not put the ME tags on your bags. That way the ME people will not pick them up.

I haven't managed to read this whole thread so the answer to my question may well be in there somewhere ;)

Basically how do I request a fridge for our room (DD can only drink lactose reduced milk which I buy and keep in the fridge) and how much would it cost?

I'll be booking our room through www.disneyworld.co.uk in the next few days :thumbsup2

Thanks

You could maybe join a Fridge swap! Many are free, as they have been paid for, others may cost you $10 for your whole stay! The fridges Pop has will cost you $10/ night. There is a sticky at the top of the Budget Board that has all of them listed together and you can see which dates are available. I have LOTS of Fall and Winter dates in mine!

Has anyone used the Magical Express staying at Pop recently? I met someone over the weekend who worked there last year, and she suggested if I do the ME service, to take our luggage with us because it takes about 4 hours to get it otherwise. We're going in Sept & our flight lands around 10:30 am on a Sat.

We did this and kept our luggage with us last year and it really wasn't that difficult on us, but there are two of us and our bags could be wheeled easily. I have heard about the delay so that was the main reason we did it but also just would rather keep them close so we did it the same way on our way back.

My flight lands at 1:14 PM in Orlando and I have dinner reservations at Brown Derby at 5. Will I have enough time to get form the airport to POP to MGM?

Thanks,

Larry

To everyone who has added information thank you. We are going to Disney in September and staying at the POP Century and this forum has been tremendously helpful

JMO, but you might be pushing it a little if you're taking ME. Sometimes you sit on ME and wait a little while and then it takes about 45 minutes to get to your resort, then you have to check in, put your things in your room, go get on the bus, get to MGM, then get to Brown Derby. Let alone if you need to change or use the restroom! You 'might' be ok, but in order to keep you stress free I'd see if I could make the ADR for a little later.

last year our plane arrived at 11:30 we went straight to ME arrived at POP by 1:00, checked in (room wasn't ready yet). Then we checked in the rest of our carry on luggage at the luggage station, got on the next available bus to MK and we arrived at MK by 2:00. MGM is closer than MK, as long as you keep moving you should be able to make it.. It all depends on how well things go for you that day.. we were just lucky enough that it just flowed continously without us really rushing. have fun that the key part!!:thumbsup2

Does anyone know when the other half of Pop is opening?
~Spongeblair

there is several threads on this, but at this point it has been at a standstill since 9/11. There has been some stories saying they are going to start back on it and make it into all suites, but so far NOTHING.

Is anyone staying at Pop from june 25th to July 5th (or part of) and would like a fridge to use? We've had someone thats had to pull out of the swap and we're desperately trying to fill these dates. There is NO charge for this swap. Please come and log on here or PM me if you're interested

Anyone else going to Pop Century 13-19? Was wondering if the parks were very busy since its after the 4th?

OK I have just joined not to long ago. I am going to Pop this Sept. I have a sily question that I have not seen yet (read about 100 posts so far and will try to read them all before I go). I have one of those nifty toasters that will also cook eggs, and sausages. Can I bring that there and use it in the room? Or will they say no toaster allowed? Anyone know?

Thanks!

I think that is a fire hazard. And your neighbors might not appreciate the smell. I would just bring along something easy for the mornings.
