There is so much great info here...I'll have to read as much as I can as I go along :)

What are you upgrading too Michele?

Anything close to Classic Hall in a preferred room :) being pregnant adn travelling with my dad, i don't think we're going to want to walk the mile all the time after af ull walking day in the parks! haahah :) i'm hping for pool view :)

Oh good Ithought you were leaving Pop!! I have preferred rooms, didn't want to be dragging an exhausted 5 year old to far at the end of the day. Do you have any tips. Grad nighrt is while we are there. A cm assured me it would not be too loud, butI'm not convinced!! We don't want first floor as 5year old loves pools too much !! I want as close to Classic and buses as poss!! Suggestions I have received are Playdo Bldgand the 70's What's your oppinion??

English Rose, i have never been during a grad night, but have only heard it's crazy :faint:

I wanted to book preferred right away, but they wouldn't let us b/c of the package we are on :( so they told us to try for it when we arrive! :woohoo: good thing we land at 10am!! so i should be checking in by 11!!! :yay:

Englishrose 50's blding Lady or Tramp are close too!!! Nothing is really far! We stayed in the Jukebox and that was pretty much the furthest out of the 50 60 &70's bldings. I want to stay in the 60's in July any of those rooms are pretty close.

Thanks for the tips!! Dgd has her heart set on the playdo bldg 'cos her Latchkey staff stayed there sooo!!Will probably try that first for connecting preferred then Lady I think, but I hear the cm's usually are very helpful!!

Anyone know what the average temp in May is? We're going 5/12-5/19

TIA!!!

HOT!!!!

I was there last year 5/19 to 5/23 and it felt worse to me than August. It wasn't worse but I just wasn't used to the 90+ degrees it was there. The average high for that time of year is 88 to 89 and ave lows 66 to 67.

If I were you I would consider getting one of those fans that you can fill with ice water. They have a trigger like a squirt gun and the fan runs on AA batteries so it sprays a mist on you with the fan on. They sell Mickey ones in the park for about $20 but you can purchase cheap ones at Walmart for under $5 or basically the same thing at CVS for about $8. You may also want to get one of the gel filled bandanas that you soak in cold water and put on your neck.

I went to Disney when I was about 16 weeks pregnant and had a great time.

Hey DMommyMichelle,

We are going down a few weeks after you but I am 15 weeks pregnant now, I am sure that you have checked with your doctor and I am not telling you anything new but here are a few tips mine has given me:

1. Drink Drink Drink..we will be loosing hydration faster than usual, due to the change in climate and temp and even if we are drinking the amount that we normally do, we need to drink more (and they said to stay away from sports drinks, iced t and soda). My doc suggested that I bring water bottles with me and a jug of Pedialyte, she said to drink a mixture of that every day (1/2 water, 1/2 Pedialyte) to replenish lost electrolytes. I was unaware that dehydration can bring on labor.

2. Rest during the hottest point of the day, take the afternoon off and rest, swim, relax.

3. (This I thought was a given but she was adamant) She said to go to the bathroom often (like that is a problem) but she said that holding it in can be bad for your bladder and baby.

4. She also said to elevate your feet at night so that you can avoid swelling.

The previous poster had some great ideas about the fans and bandana's, it can get really hot at WDW, we went in August when Katrina hit and it was so hot by 9am, we were drenched in sweat.

I hope you have a great time, !

Thanks we have one! i bought it when i went 7 months pregnant (so i'm an old pro) in August :) so if it's just like that, then i should be able to handle it! hahah! let's hope :)

Thanks! Yup my Dr. gave me the same list :) i also get motion sickness while pregnant so next month i am seeing him on the day before we leave and he's giving me some more stuff :)

For the bathroom thing, i tend to go as soon as i see one that's visible whether i have to go or not. My Dr. last time told me to just sit there for a bit and 90% of the time i will go! (he was right! wierd!!)

Thanks everyone :) :) :)

Michelle -
check out this website for the temp each day last May. It will give you a good idea of what to expect this coming year. http://www.wunderground.com/weather...LAN3&day=12&year=2006&month=5&graphspan=month

We were at WDW during the beginning of May. It was hot, but not nearly as humid and uncomfortable as the July/August/Octobers we have experienced. I think the hardest part is adjusting to the change in temp, if it is a big difference.

We had a great trip! Hope you do too!
