Well, if you'll accept a response from someone who hasn't used DME for return-luggage-only but knows...
The Lobby Concierge has absolutely nothing to do with DME. There is a counter outside the front entrance to the right for both Luggage Assistance and Remote Airline Checkin.
Since you're flying home on a participating airline, you can simply check in at the RAC counter at least three but no more than twelve hours before your flight, and check your luggage through to your destination. The counter hours are 5:30 AM to 1:30 PM.
You need to have all members of your party there and all your luggage, and IDs for anyone of an age where an ID would be required at airport checkin. You do NOT need to board a bus back to the airport or, I think, even make arrangements in advance.

Note that if your flight leaves before 8:30 AM, you will not be able to check your luggage in at Pop, since there won't be that three hour window.
What about carry-ons? Can these be left with the desk?

My cat does that too! She also steals the straw out of my mug while I have my head turned looking at the DIS!

LOL!! They're something aren't they? My cat's water dish could be closer to her than my cup but somehow my cup is just that much more enticing. :confused3 I don't know, I have weird cats- one of the others eats green beans and potato soup. LOL!!!

1.Take the Bus to the MK. From there either take a short walk to the Contemp or hop the resort monorail.
2. If you're traveling after the MK closes take the bus to DTD and transfer to a Contemp bus there

Is anyone else booked, at Pop, for Jan.07, if so, what is your nightly rate? I've reserved a standard room for Jan.8-14th, and got a quote of $91. per night (that includes tax, etc..). The reservationist said that the $77. rate is not going to be offered in 2007. Just curious.
Yes, generally all the resort rates increase at the beginning of each year. The Value Season rate for 2006 is $79, not $77; the 2007 rate appears to be $81.

With Luggage Assistance, yes, which is at the same counter as RAC but a separate line - and be SURE to allow extra time at the resort to claim anything left with them; but if someone's driving back to the airport, why not just put the carry on luggage in the trunk?

What is the best way to get from Pop to Contempory and how long does it take?
See the response between your questions (# 2404), and about ten minutes longer than it takes to get from Pop to the Magic Kingdom.

I'll be taking DME.

Okay, I didn't know you weren't the person I answered originally. I'd say allow an extra half hour at least back at Pop in case there's a long line for Luggage Assistance.

About a half hour in travel time traveling to the MK for the transfer

A half hour to 45 minutes with a DTD transfer. Sometimes up to a hour.

Yes. I can not sing the praises of luggage services enough! It saved us lots of time on our last day. We arranged for them to pick up our luggage at 8am and when we returned from the parks for DME at 3, our luggage was waiting for us. It was so easy!

Thank you for your reply. I was hoping that would be the case. I am arriving by car service around 5PM and although I can handle my 2 pieces of luggage without a problem, I am hoping to pick up bottled water and soft drinks along the way which will get heavy.

Thank you again.

Hey Pop Experts

I asked over on the DDP board, but nobody answered... :(

Does anyone know how the Dining Plan credits work for breakfast at Pop? I'd like to only use one credit for breakfast, mainly to get enough protein items that the four of us can share (this will accompany some non-perishible items we will have in the room). I only want to use one credit so we can save the rest of the daily CS credits for lunch.

Will this work? What kinds of things can I get with one credit?

:thanks:

Thanks! I will have to check that out. :thumbsup2 Ok, to get this back on topic, I see you'll be at Pop in August- us too! That free dining is awesome!

Pop is only listed as a snack meal or quick service on the Disney Website. The way I interpet it is a breakfast is a quick service meal at the Pop. Most likely because it's cafeteria sevice.

People have reported that one of the best "bargains" for one snack credit at Pop is an entire box of Entennman's donuts. I plan on buying a box the first day to keep in the room. I wouldn't normally consider a donut breakfast, but I have all of our lunches planned for pretty early, so I guess a donut can hold us over until lunch a couple of days. Don't know about protein, but...

Thanks MrsMud, but I can't give the kids too much sugar without enough sustenance or else they will get like this: :furious: :sad1:  :headache:

I will likely pack some granola bars and dried cereal. I just want some eggs, bacon, sausage, ham, etc to augment what I bring. How much of this stuff can I get with one CS credit?

just another pic - never too many, eh?
POP-Go-GoBootssign.jpg

our room was kitty-korner across from these - and and night we walked the other direction to see the Epcot fireworks.

Have you checked out the diing section at www.allearsnet.com ? They have menus for all the Parks and Resorts? This should give you some idea of what you could use for your counter service credit. princess:

I saw your post on the dining board the other day, but the server was acting up & wouldn't let me post.

You only get an entree & drink for breakfast, you can't get several side items. Several items such as waffles also come with bacon or sausage, but for what you are wanting, the platter would probably be best.
