Is the Magical Express drop off near where the regular bus stops are? Where is the Magical Express pick up for when it's time to go back to the airport?

I know that the regular bus areas are not sheltered. Is the ME area under a shelter of some sort? If not, how do you wait for ME with all of your luggage if your pick up time is during a storm?

TIA!

I am really enjoying this thread. I can't wait to stay at Pop! :goodvibes

When you walk out the main lobby door, Remote Airline Checkin, the DME pickup area and Luggage Assistance are to your left; the park bus stops are to your right. I believe yes, that area does have a roof over it.

:cool1: We've requested connecting rooms at Pop and wany King double double, I read somewhere that all Kings were handicapped bathrooms . Is this true?

No, it's not. See page two of THIS thread for a floorplan and an explanation of, well, just go look at page two.

Hi
We stayed at Pop in January for almost 3 weeks, and had a king size bed. It was NOT a handicap room/differently able room or whatever the correct term is. (If it had been one we would have requested to be moved. So, someone who did need it, could have it :) ).
It was a great room for DH and I. There was plenty of room and it had a shower with a tub.
I hope you will find it as enjoyable as we did.
Oh yeah, almost forgot we were in the 50's section. The non-smoking building. It was Lady's building we were in. Ground floor, right across from the pool. Not too far from bus stop, and food places. We did not find it noisey.

Just writing about it makes me wish I could go back right now!!!!

I understand that some rooms in 50's, 60's, and 70's buildings are preferred. At the time I reserved there were no preferred rooms available. I did request to be as close to Classic Hall and busses as possible as I have severe back problems. Do any of you Pop veterans know anything else I can do? I plan to call resort that a.m. to reiterate request. Anything else?

Thanks!

They do have wheelchairs available at the resorts you could request. I know they are limited and on a first come first serve basis.

Since you can take the bus directly to DTD, the trip to Planet Hollywood should be no more than 20-25 minutes once you get on the the bus to the entrance to PH.
For the Contemporary, you will need to take a bus to a park, and then switch to another bus (or other means of transportation) for the Contemporary. I would probably take the bus to MK (at least 15-20 minute ride) and then either walk to the CR (about 10 minutes) or take the resort monorail (I believe CR is first stop from MK). The monorail will be quick, depending on whether you have to wait for it to arrive, then fill up with guests, etc. MK is the farthest park from PC, so the bus ride is longer, but MK is the closest park to CR - and that way you aren't sharing a bus ride with other resorts either - from some parks CR shares the bus with GF and/or Poly and/or WL - so the ride from park to CR could be a long one. So, the time for this one (PC to CR) is harder to determine, but I would allow 45-60 minutes.

We will be staying at POP at the same time the Tampa Bay Bucs are having training camp over at Wide World of Sports. I know I have to go see them at least once during our stay. How hard is it to get from PC to WWoS? I will not have a car, so that's not an option.
Thanks!!!

only 15 more day till we leave!

Just popping up the Pop thread with another question....

Now that some of the 60s, 50s, and 70s rooms are preferred, does anyone know where the standard rooms are in these buildings?

If you stayed at Pop since the preferred rooms have changed, where did you stay? Was it standard or preferred?

Hey Tanya,
Here were some of the other responses I got from this thread http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?p=13519086#post13519086
:)
Using Disney transportation you would have to take a bus to MGM. Then a bus to WWOS. As far as I know this is the only way. My DH did this last year.
:)
Also it's not a real good sign to find the Bus at MGM we used it alot when playing Paintball at WWoS .

Instead of going towards the park you go right back out towards the MAIN parking area and the sign and stop are right there.

Or just ask and they will point you in the right direction. 20 to 30 min. between buses in OCt /Apr. the two dates we were there.
:)
We happened upon the bus stop at the Studios for WWOS last year. We exited the Studios and began our walk back to the Boardwalk. There are benches around the lake and I saw a sign indicating that was the bus stop for WWOS. In the many, many times I have taken that walk I never noticed this before. Just a note to the original poster.....I understand the last bus is around 8pm regardless of what is taking place at WWOS. I would imagine you would go during the day but just thought I should warn you about the 8pm business.
:)
We went to WWoS for the training camp last year (on our honeymoon no less!) b/c DH is a huge Bucs fan. I would have to say that waiting for the bus at WWoS to get back to MGM was the longest we waited for a bus our whole trip. Even though we'll be there again during camp we're not going back (although DH may go by himself).

Also as a side note, although the seating is in a shaded area, it is REALLY hot. It was kind of like sitting in a corrugated tin box. But the merchandise selection was pretty good.
:)
The Bus stop at Disney/Mgm Studios for Wide World of Sports is in the Charter Bus Parking Lot. To find it look for a A-Frame sign that will have the Wide World of Sports on it.
:)
Taking the Bus to Wide World Of Sports is a lot better then taking your car if you will be using one while at WDW. The last 2 years I have been at WDW in August when the Bucs had training camp at Wide World Of Sports, there was a sign along the roads that said parking lot full for Wide World Of Sports, because obviously to many people went to see the Bucs practice.
:)
There are also youth sports tournaments for AAU basketball and USSSA baseball and softball at the same time as the Bucs training camp that may also fill up the parking lot.

:cheer2:
Go Bucs!!!
:cheer2:

I think this has been asked but the search is not working. I am pretty sure pop gives you shampoo and body wash. I think? But do they give you conditioner? And is it the dispenser in the shower or the little bottles? Thanks for the help. :)

The shampoo they give you at POP is in the bottle. It is a small bottle of shampoo/conditioner. It works fine in my son and dh's hair, but my dd and I require more conditioning so I bring seperate shampoo and conditioners from home. There is also a bath bar of soap.

Hope that helps! :)

Here's a random question...because I've stayed at POP, but I can't remember...do you get a shower cap in the room? I ask, because often we like to take afternoon breaks and I like to that a cool shower, but don't want my hair to get wet!

You know, so many hotels do. I honestly can't 100% remember, but I seem to be leaning towards no.

As far as the question about the shampoo, it's definately the little bottles. It is also ok for my DH & DS8's hair. DD14 and I definately need something better to make our hair soft. We bring our own.

No shower caps in the room at POP, bring your own.
