Ronald Duck, thanks again for another fantastic map! :thumbsup2

As promised, I've been adding them as links in Post #1. The links go to your actual posts, not just the picture. That way if you had any commentary to go with the picture/map, like "preferred rooms are yellow", it won't get lost. :) With that in mind, if you have a chance to update the post for the 50's map to reflect a new picture with the building numbers (or room numbers as you see in the 60's picture, which tells us which building), it will make it that much more helpful!

Here's the post I'm suggesting get updated with a new picture:

Just wanted to say "WOW" at the great info at the beginning of the thread. We are staying here in June and there is alot of info I didn't know. It helps to be informed. :)

I'm glad you're finding it helpful and informative! I figure the more we are informed, the better our planning, thus vacation, will be!

OK, so here's my second overhead-room map...this one is for the 60's. The yellow areas are Preferred rooms:

Can you do the 70's section. We always stay there and would love a view like this of the rooms.

DH and I will be heading down to POP in June. We are meeting up w/DH's dad and bro from Cali. We are really excited to spend some time with them but also to visit our first WDW resort we ever stayed onsite in :goodvibes

Expect to see us walking around from June 6-11th! :cloud9:

I believe that you call the head chef if you want it at your resort for your room or the food court etc.... If your are going to a disney restaraunt you should be able to call that restaraunt and order the cake and they will bring it out when you are ready for dessert! I did this at Chef Mickey's!

I also believe I read somewhere that POP does have some little ones ready to go at their food court! Just wanted to add that! Good luck!:)

Tonight, we are booking POP for Dec 15th-20th. I cannot wait. Does anyone know of a good room close to the bus stop that doesn't face any of the bright, lively areas. We have a two year old coming, and he'll never be able to sleep with all the sensory stimulation. We wanted a sort of quiet room away from everything.

Well, if you want a standard room in the 60s (close to food and busses) that's quiet, the "backs" of Buildings 4 and 5 are good choice (see map just above). Some good rooms would be Rooms 5X20 through 5X30, or 4X45 though 4X55 (where X is the floor munber...1, 2, 3, or 4)

At 11:00 pm EDT today, I had DVR'd "What You Get for the Money: Walt Disney World". I'm just starting to watch it now.

They showcased three families and how they spent $1600. One family of 3 boys and their mom stayed at Pop Century. So if you're looking for a new WDW featured show, check out the remaining air times that FLN has posted.

AIR TIMES:

• April 13, 2008 3:00 AM EDT
• April 17, 2008 5:00 PM EDT
• April 20, 2008 11:00 PM EDT
• April 21, 2008 3:00 AM EDT

Thanks for the info. SOunds like a good show to watch. I've set the DVR for Thursday at 5. Did you see the new one with Samantha Brown last Friday? There will be another new one with her this Friday, too.

Saw both of them. They are great. But that what you get for the money I don't think was totally correct. The family that stayed at pop didn't have dining included, (I beleive) so really they forked out more money OOP. But the otehr two had some sort of dining plan. I think thats a big difference.
I already got next fridays set to record!

I have a picture of me by the room number I was thinking it was 4875 maybe it was 4415. We were on the 2nd FLOOR! NOT 4TH! and we were on the back side 2nd room to the end oppsite of the elevators!

I have a question about shipping food/diapers ect... We will be arriving Friday April 25th, is it too soon to ship our stuff, or when should I do it. We plan on using Costco or target or some store. Any recommendations on stores would be great too!!! (No costco's in our area, so not sure what they are like.) Thanks for the help!

I did see it! I have the remaining Season of Disney by Samantha scheduled on my DVR, too.

The resort will hold delivered packages for 2 weeks, so you can plan accordingly. Check out Post #1 for a couple of nearby store options.

I beleive you have to have a membership at Coscos to use them.

Like someone else already said the resort will hold a package for you for 2 weeks. Be sure to put the name your reservation is under and your arrival date on the shipping label.

I have had good luck ordering from www.gardengrocer.com for water, snacks, fruit and even sunscreen so I don't have to worry about it in the suitcase. You set up a delivery date with them.

I also like www.minimus.biz for travel size items. They ship for free with a $20 order. I order toiletries and snacks from them. They have a great selection of individual bowls of cereal. They are in the west coast so I would order before Wednesday if you decide to get something from them.
