If the only difference in the mug is date or not we are going back again this year do you think I would be okay taking my mugs back with me from last year??? I know this is a touchy subject so please don't flame me:scared: but if the mug looks the same it would give us 40.00 to spend elsewhere!!! :dance3:

I'm going solo so will buy one this time but I wouldn;t flame you . After the rotten deal with DDp that Disney has pulled on us the $40 could go towards tips that was covered on ddp and they gave us a break of $1 less. That would ease my consciouce(Sp.)!!!

I've been reading and reading and I haven't seen this info. I'm sure it's there, but. . . how much space is between the beds? We were thinking of bringing one of the inflatable sleeping bags like suggested in the info at the beginning of this thread. Would this fit between the beds? ASMu or ASMo sound good because of the beds being able to be moved against the wall, however, my kids really want to be back at Pop again. (we've just all grown a bit since last time, plus we've added a 2 year old to our crew!) Just trying to figure out the logistics.
Also, if we chose to drive to a park one day, would we still pay for parking even though we are resort guests? I thought I heard somewhere that you don't, but maybe that's just a perk, you ride the buses, therefore, don't pay for parking.

Thanks!!

I'm not sure if between the beds, but you could do it at the end of the bed, especially if you moved the table a bit. I'm not sure jsut how big an inflateable sleeping bag is, but I twin airmatress won't fit there for sure.

I'm not sure how many kids you have, but you may need to get another toom. They only allow 4 in a room, 5 if one is a crib sized child. (I think it's either under 2 or under 3, but can't remember for sure.)

OK POP vets...any tips to ease my mind? I'll be travelling alone with DS(8) & DD(4) :scared: for a quick trip 3/31-4/4 and I'm nervous about the crowd levels. It's really only 3 days since we arrive around 9 Monday night and leave early Friday morning.

What section do I request since I only booked standard view? I'm not bringing a stroller-DD refuses to sit in one.

Are there any times to avoid SOME of the breakfast rush?

We're only going to MK, are the lines and busses really that bad? We'll be taking frequent breaks. (DS is on the autism spectrum)

Any help is greatly appreciated!

Thanks! I made our reservations today and there was no problem about the 5 of us. We really couldn't afford another room. I dread our next trip because she'll be older and we'll have to do 2 rooms or a moderate. I know we'll be climbing all over each other but we live in a small house and lived in a teeny tiny apartment during seminary with 2 kids, (650 sq. feet). We can do this for a week for Mickey!! (oh, and Ella aka Cinderella, my 2 year old's name is Ella and she calls Cinderella "Ella".) We'll make do!

Michelle - never ask a mug question on these boards! :scared:

From the pix I've seen, the 2008 mugs are identical to the 2007 mugs except the 2008 mug is blank where the 2007 mug has "2007", if that makes any sense.

As far as the smoking problem at POP, I am really reconsidering staying there. If they cannot guarantee a non-smoking/ non smoke filled room, then it is no place for me and all of my allergies. Which is sad, becuase it looks like such a fun resort!

This quote is from another thread where a poster said that smoke (from people smoking in their rooms) goes through the vents into other rooms. :scared:

Please tell me this doesn't happen anymore. I really don't want to change resorts. I know my gf would not stand this, if anyone has any info please post.

I can completely relate as I'm allergic to cigarette smoke as well. No doubt at all this COULD happen. Shoot...I've been able to clearly hear "noises" from the room beside me in when in the bathroom at high-end hotels. :rolleyes1

All Disney resorts are now non-smoking in the rooms. There are also designated locations on the property for smoking, which means smoking on balconies is unacceptable as well. If I smelled or saw ANY violation that would impact me, frankly I would be s squealer, and I'm a person will be put up with a lot when traveling. :)

LoriS - you can fit a twin airmattress in the Pop room in a couple of places but, like a previous poster, I am not sure if it will lie completely flat in between the beds.

You do not pay for parking when driving to a park, if you are a resort guest. When you checkin, they will give you a 'pass' to place in your car window.

The best way to avoid the breakfast rush is to be there early. The food court opens at 6:30 but the "hot food" stations open at 7:00. If you get there early it isn't too crazy. Same thing with the busses. If you get there early (the busses start at 7:00) it isn't too bad.

I think you'll be fine. Who will use the air matress? I've used a toddler size "ready bed" (not in a pop room though) and they are good for a child up to say 6 or 7. They are smaller than a twin so they would fit in the room easily. You could just stand it up against a wall during the day.

We stayed at POR (the only moderate to hold 5) last year and didn't feel too crowded. The rooms really aren't that much bigger than Pop and the bathroom at Pop is actually bigger-makes it easier to bath the kids.

Have a great trip!

Did anyone book Pop for free DDP last year? I was just wondering how hard it was to get in when they first announced it? It seems like Pop is one of the most desired values. Last year we stayed at CBR for free food but our budget is a lot lower this year so we're hoping for Pop. Any observations would be appreciated.

We did the same last year regarding the free dining and CBR. Stayed at Movies in April, CBR in August. We are doing WDW again this April, staying at POP, but already thinking about heading down again if the free dining is offered later this year. Free dining + POP would equal one unbeatable vacation value and something we would do for sure if we like POP as much as we think we will! :goodvibes

I was at Pop last year for free dining. It seemed that the first week of free dining over Labor day was booked solid as well as mid September at the Pop resort as well as ASMovies. I wanted mid September. What I did was book ASmusic since the only values for my time were that and ASSports and then called Disney every few days to see if anything opened and it eventually did so I changed from Music to Pop then. There is hope but just incase have a second choice available.

Here's a question for all of you knowledgable Pop people: I'm sure they accept credit cards in WDW, but could I use credit card for every purchase including small food and drink purchases and such, or do you think it would be better to bring mostly cash? :confused3

I usually charge everything back to the room key. At the values you have a credit line of $500 if you leave a credit card at check in. If you get close to the limit you can just go the front desk and pay it off (with credit card). There are times when the machines break at say the popcorn stands or ice cream carts so it helps to have some cash.

I was nervous about running up a huge bill to see at the end of the trip. I guessed at how much we would need each day, I got the cash, put each day's amounts in an envelope. We kept it in the safe in our room. My husband just got out each day's envelope and took the money. We never used all of the money, and we carried each day's extra money over for souvenirs. It worked great for us. We charged a few things to our room, but it was nice not having a huge bill to surprise us. It works the same way, but it just helped me mentally!

I think some of the small carts only take cash too. We had the dining plan, and anything we bought on top of that was cash for the most part. I did charge at the gift shops a few things, but I was trying to keep to just the cash I brought.
