Hi! We DH, DS 16 DS 2 & Me are returning (yea!) to WDW 9/26-10/5. We have stayed onsite at POP 2x. 1x in bldg 1 facing Classic Hall(it was ok close to parking lot). 2x Bldg 3 4th floor Lakeview(ok but long walk from parking lot). We would like to request to stay in Bldg 1 again either poolside or overlooking the pool 4th floor as we use a rental car & don't want to be too far from the parking lot and not too far from Classic Hall.

How is it on the ground floor, is it noisy? Can you hear noise from the floors above? I will have a little one who we will try to get to take naps midday, but I have heard nightmare stories of people running back and forth, up & loud in the pools until 2 am, & banging & swinging doors of kids running in & out at all hours of the evening and morning. Poolside sounds great... but not sure. Any opinions?

Thanks so much!

I would request mNOT poolside as I know it can be noisy. We were on the 4th floor of 60's Not poolside and it was quiet. But not sure about parking lots as we had no car!!This time I am going solo and requested 1st floor not poolside!!

On the Pop Picture thread, you'll find this post that has great pictures of the safe. One photo has an 8.5" x 11" notepad that will give you a very good perspective. You'll see there's not much more space width-wise. I know my laptop would not fit in that space, but no doubt some would.

My laptop definitely fit in the safe with no problem. I have a macbook and I even had a lot of room to spare for my ipod, big wallet, etc.

My laptop also fit in the safe, but I had to stand it on its side. I would not say there was a lot of room to spare, but our 2 nintendo DS games fit in there also.

We'll be making our yearly trip in March & it'll be our first time staying over Easter. Any chance that Everything Pop will have Easter Baskets for sale? I've promised my 5 year old that the Easter Bunny will still come see him at Disney World.

Hello,
we have just booked the POP for May3 -11 and it will be myself, DH and DS (who will be just under 3 at time of travel.) I am trying to figure out if I should request a certain room or area before we go. We have booked a standard room, but woul like something not too noisey, with an okay view, and that is not too far from the buses. Does such a room or area exist? Please help, any info would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Here is a post I posted on another thread asking about safes and laptops. It has a picture of my laptop on its side in the safe.

My 7 yr old daughter and I are going to Pop Century from Mon. March 31 - Sat. April 5. Does anyone know how busy we can expect it to be? This is not considered peak season.:cool2: and is right after Spring Break. This is my Daughter's first time to Disney and we are very excited! Thanks for your info!!:flower3:

I think it will still be busy. I read somewhere that alot of schools are having spring breaks that week, I beleive. It won't be as bad as Easter time though.

I don't know about other states but a lot of school districts in Michigan have March 31-April 4 off this year. My daughter is off that week instead of the traditional week after Easter. That could turn into a peak time at Disney. I'm sure you'll still be able to have a magical trip. :wizard:

As I mentioned, no doubt that many of your laptops would fit! I'll point out that I have a 17" Dell, and the battery bumps out another 1.25" from the back. Between those two factors, that's why mine would not fit. :upsidedow That darn new type of battery is such a pain as it's ackward and you can't buy a protective neoprine skin for it as they don't fit. :sad2:

I have a tenatively booked room at POP for Aug 11th I asked for Building One and they quoted me preferred rate. THE CM said that all of building one is preferred (The Lady Building) which I know it is not, b/c last year I stayed there in a non-preferred room. We faced the parking lot on the fourth floor which I did not care as we were hardly ever there and it was close to everything.

If I decide to stay in a preferred room in the Lady Building and request a 4th floor room at the front of the building like in the part closest to the Main Hall will it be far enough away from the pool to be quiet? I am thinking the part of the builiding that is in front of the smoking area, so that if I choose to go for a cigarette, my DS can see me from the room. I know it is not guaranteed that I can get this request, but it is worth a try.

Do you th ink that is a good location and worth paying for preferred or just ask them to change it to standard and face the parking lot again?

TIA

Steph

Anyone been to PC recently that can confirm if the toiletries have been changed to the H20 products? Thanks!

Someone told us that you can't get a King bed with 3 people in a room. They are only available if there are 2 people in the room. This would be much easier for us since my DD likes sleeping with someone when we are on vacation. If we have to get 2 beds DH and I will have to take turns I guess.

Yes, we live in metro Atlanta and Spring Break for us is the first two weeks in April. Since it is not Easter, I do hope it is not terribly crowded. My Daughter is so excited!! :yay:

Also, since it will just be the two of us, does anyone know anything about saftey and security both at Pop Century and in the parks? Anyone heard anything about any crimes there?

How old is DD. If she is under 3, you probably can.

They did change to H20 shampoo and a round shaped Mickey soap.

As for crime. Crime happens everywhere just be aware of your surroundings and you will be ok. I go with just DS and I often and feel perfectly safe and have had no problems. Unless a maid taking something from our room if you call that crime. There are lots of single women who go to Disney all the time. They also have a gated entrance at the front of the resorts if that makes you feel better.

Yes, that does make me feel better, thank you!:thumbsup2 I definetly think WDW is a very safe place, this will be our first vacation being just the two of us so I wanted to do a little research first!

Also, does anyone know how crowded the pools are during the day? I know we will be swimming some and wondered if the pool chairs get taken up quickly? I have stayed at other resorts in FL (not Disney) where it was impossible to find a free chair at the pool, anytime of day.

Our schools are close April 7th thru 18th here when is everyone elses closed?Be interesting to see and figure out busy times !!

Could you mail yourself something at the resort?

I am sure the disney florist has something and there are some people who do baskets (for all occasions) but I've never used any of them.
