Good Morning Pop Peeps -
DGD13 wants to get her hair braided right before our 4 day cruise in May. I remember there was someone near the Hippy Dippy pool, but don't know any details or even if it is still available.

Has anyone gotten hair braided at POP? Cost? Appointment needed? TIA

They were doing hair braiding this week. Can't tell you anything about cost. Sorry.

GorshGoofy - Thanx for the reply about the hair-braiding. I'm pretty sure we'll be able to arrange it once we get there.

Dinka - I just wanted to give you another vote of confidence in Disney security. I've made several trips to Pop with just DGD and myself - never a mishap or concern. I feel very safe at the resort. The CMs will know that you are traveling alone with a child and are very helpful too. Pop is so family-oriented - and the families come in all sizes. My suggestion would be just use Disney transportation and relax. Have fun!

Does anyone know what the former smoking buildings/rooms are? I am staying with my DD in September for the first time at Pop and want to make sure we DO NOT get a former smoking room as she is severely asthmatic. Thanks!

The H2O products in the values are NOT the same as the ones in the deluxe resorts. In the values (and moderates) you get a shampoo/conditioner combo product.

I liked the combo stuff, and usually I don't. My hair is dry ends/oily scalp and I used just that stuff with an anti-frizz curling product and it worked better than the shampoo I brought with me!

what kind of items are in the retail store at pop century? can you buy milk and Oj? I'm sending down a lot of food before hand (snacks cereal, coffee etc) but I'm trying to decide if I should make a trip to the store or if the store in pop century will have enough? we will be eating all of our breakfast meals except 1 in the room so I'm just needing to figure out how to get those groceries.

None of that is in the store, but it is in the food court. I'm not sure how big an OJ you can get, but I bleive you can get half gallon milks. Not sure if you can get a gallon or not.

Yes I agree pool side is noisy!! Let's not spread the word too much or that's all we'll be able to get I shipped down snax etc last time. You can buy half gallons of milk for about $3 , also if you have the refillable mugs you can get milk as your drink with a cs.I think people use the microwave in the food court for hot cereal and the toaster too. I didn't but have heard that is done. If you havr a car I'm sure you could do better with a run but if not you can make do with Pop's store!!( in the food court)

When we stayed at the POP in Oct. 2007 there was a hair dryer on the wall near the sink.
Have a great time!! We were on the 4th floor, 60's.
