I was just looking at disneyworld.com, pricing dates for June of 2012 at Pop. Yes, they do list a standard room, a preferred room and a preferred pool view room.

The Petals bar is next to the main Hippy Dippy Pool. It has alcoholic and some non-alcoholic drinks. For snacks you will have to go inside Classic Hall to the food court.
Thanks so much! I wasn't sure if they sold any kind of alcholic beverages at a Value Resort.

WOW, I can't believe they have next years rates out already. I have been guessing for our 2012 trip, thanks for the heads up.

I was able to price a July vacation for 2012 and it showed standard, preferred, and preferred pool view. Price for the same we got this year went up about $100.

Wow, that was fast! I just looked early this morning, but nothing was out for 2012 yet, tried again later, but site was down. thanks so much! We will update the first page soon.:thumbsup2

tina.tina ~ thanks for mentioning this today!:goodvibes

Add us to the list of Pop! converts. We had stayed at moderates before and one trip at Wilderness Lodge. We spent a weekend at All Star Movies and we really disliked it. But we loved Pop!

My Brother in law picked Pop for our big family trip and we all really loved it. We stayed in the 70's section Room 6223. The rest of the family was right there with us. We had 5 rooms in a row. Grandma was in the room connecting with us but we didn't use that door. We found it very easy to get to the Hippy Dippy Pool and the Food Court. We ate breakfast there every morning and the kids and I ate a late after swimming dinner there one night. The Chicken Mediterranean Flatbread was so good. The kids shared an order of the Adult Chicken Nuggets and Tie Dye Cheesecake. Every morning I had a cheese danish! So good. Dh drank coffee every morning, says it tastes like the coffee at all the Disney places.

Bus service was pretty good most days. Our last day we went to Animal Kingdom and had some difficulties. We walked up to the bus stop and they were loading two buses. Grandma was in a Scooter so we waited for the next bus. Most of the rest of the family got on a bus standing room only. Bus pulls away at 9:30. Next bus that comes was a big yellow Mears Bus. No accessibility. Then a Disney Cruise Line Bus comes and loads and pulls away. My Brother in Law had to find a CM and ask about a bus that has accessibility. By this time it is 9:55 and the rest of the family is already at the Animal Kingdom. CM quickly changes his bus routing and we are loading up on a Disney bus with only about 10 people.

I walked through the resort and took some pictures of all the icons on the last morning. It is really neat to see the construction of the new resort on the other side of Hourglass Lake.

The Goofy Jets didn't work while we were there. My two year old niece really liked the Goofy with the surfboard. She called him "Cutie Pie Goofy" :goodvibes:goodvibes

There is also beer and wine available in the refrigerators inside the Everything Pop! food court. There used to be a bar inside Classic Hall as well, but it was removed. (I never saw it, but I read about it.)

Welcome back, Nancy! So glad you had a great trip and enjoyed POP!:goodvibes

Are you going to post some pics for us? :thumbsup2

I love your room location - pretty much perfect!

Thanks so much for taking the time to post! :flower3:

I have a days worth of posts to catch up on, but thought I would post this in case no one else saw....

The rates for 2012 our now out. Pop has gone up in price again, BUT the kicker is no they have 2 catagories..standard, preferred, and preferred Pool view. It is $28 more to get a pool view.
I am thinking this now makes standard rooms in the 80/90's and 50's in front of the pool now a premium price? If I paid that price and got put at one of those far out pools, I would NOT be happy.

I'm wondering the same thing. I would never pay for it beacuse we hate being near the pool. I prefer being on the back side facing the lake.

But I did price out a vacation for next year as the same dates and everything as this year and got a price increase of 200.00 for 9 nights. We have the QSDP for free this year we prefer it . I'm still hoping for free dining next year. But I think our days staying at moderates are done. Lucky we love POP. I also priced out AOA and there suites are alot more then the ASMU suites. Lots of prices going up including the dining plan.

My daughter likes a pool view but I prefer the Lake view soooooo much quieter !! I have a feeling they may find their POOL View preferred are not filled , as more and more are saying tooooo noisy

This is not on the Disney booking website...perhaps you are thinking of another resort or have you heard something about 2012 rates? It would be difficult at POP to have a preferred pool view rate b/c there are not many rooms in the preferred category anyway. Lots of guests do not want a pool view.

Please let us know your source - as a co-host of this thread and we want to keep the first page updated with correct info.:thumbsup2

It's on the travel agent site

I just booked our trip for May 2012! :cool1: Havent been to Pop since 2007 and I am so excited!

That's crazy! Pref. pool view would be last on my list. I like the standard rooms, esp. facing the lake.

Ha! I would pay $28 more NOT to get a Pool View Room!

Me too!!

But we only have so much we can put away for vacation and with the cost going up we will be staying value from now on. Dh has been without a raise for 2 years and took a big pay cut when the ecomomy tanked so we are on a tighter budget.

I'm really happy they have the values:cheer2: beacuse if they didn't we would probably not be going every year.

Agreed - love the values, esp. POP. And surprisedly I really did enjoy the QSDP when I tried it last November.

I just got back from Pop Century and I had a great trip but the worst time at Pop Century! We ended up being able to see the pool from our balcony. It was sooo loud at night until at least 1! I could not sleep at all because it was so loud. We had a connecting room with my mom but my mom left after 4 nights and after that the family that had the connecting room was so loud and I could hear everything that went on in their room.

Needless to say next time I will be requesting a room far away as possible from a pool!!

I love Pop Century but this was just way too loud and when youre at Disney you need a great night sleep! I didn't get good sleep at all.
