Pop and the All stars are in 2 different counties and there has always been a slight price difference between them because of tax, so the $5 might be a tax thing.

No, Pop Century is priced higher than the All Stars for 2012. After this year if I do Value again it'll be ASMo. It will be newly renovated and cheaper.

How do you know the $5 difference isn't tax? I'm not arguing, just wondering how you know that for sure?

Well, there are a couple of travel agency sites that have all the rates listed. I can't give the links though because they are not board sponsors. An easy way to check rates is to go to disneytravelagents.com (you are a travel agent right), pick a random date in 2012 and price Pop Century, then price All Star ___, the base rate for a standard room will come up higher for Pop.

Also it's All Stars that are in the higher tax rate county. So if it were just taxes All Stars would be higher.

Perfect...thanks. I'll so that. I kind of thought of doing that, but I've been busy editing pictures all morning with a brief Dis break here and there. LOL!

The 5.00 won't break the bank. I guess it is just another way disney is wheeling in extra cash this year.

I tried this on the general public site doing room-only bookings. Example rates per night at Pop in April 2012 was $114 Mon-Thu vs. $107 at All Star Sports.

Yup that's what I meant !!!But even some Lakeview are preferred now . When does this change take effect??

Rosie, where did you hear this info? I've been looking everywhere to find if and how the preferred room locations have changed, but no luck. Thanks much!:flower3:

We are going to be doing some updates and corrections to this thread when we start the new thread as we get closer to 250 pages, so it would be great if we can have correct info for our POPers.:thumbsup2

Anyone with confirmed info please do pm or email Kris or I so we can add it to the list of changes/updates. Thank you!:goodvibes For those who have been around here a long time, Kimberly had asked me to take over the thread, but I am useless when it comes to adding info when a code is required, so Kris agreed to co-host, which we cleared with the mods, but only one name can be on the faqs, so I asked Kris because she would get the codes from Kimberly. :thumbsup2

(The travel agent site is not recognizing my iata number today - any other agents having that problem?)

The rack rates are different. Not including tax, a Sept. 2012 standard room weeknight stay at AS Music is $87, a stay at Pop is $92, and a stay at AoA is $97.

I am so sorry if this has been asked, I may have missed it.

Since we are now able to book POP for 2012, I have noticed that they are now offering the options of a standard room, preferred room and preferred pool view.

Is there a new map that shows each of these options?

Not yet. There's only speculation as to where these new categories will be.

EPCOTBill, if you get hold of a new map would you please send it to me? Thanks much!

If I see it first I'll pass it along. I know WillCAD made the map we have now with the yellow lines showing the preferred locations. I'd guess he'll make a new one as soon as we know all the new preferred locations.

That's right - I'd forgotten. Oh sure, I know WillCAD, will check with him once we know what's going on. :thumbsup2

The Petals bar is next to the main Hippy Dippy Pool. It has alcoholic and some non-alcoholic drinks. For snacks you will have to go inside Classic Hall to the food court.

You can have the pizza delivery done poolside though!

We did it back in 2009. Had some pizzas delivered to the bowling pin pool. And we even were able to use our dining plan. :thumbsup2

Does anyone know if they fixed the lighting in the last "P" on the sign?
About halfway through our trip the sign turned into "PO Century". Everyone on the night buses agreed that yes, it sure felt like a poor century to us.
