Any chance you are flying Southwest?? If so we are too from Philly so maybe we'll see you on the flight. It is myself, dh, and dd 3...our first trip to Disney. I am so excited!!!!!!

It looks as if we'll be on the same flight!!! I'll keep my eye out for you and your family. How exciting...it's your first trip. This will be our youngest son's first trip as well but we are all just as excited. I'm sure you are going to love it! :dance3:

What a small world...just look for the little girl with the pink minnie rolling suitcase and you'll find us. Hopefully the weather cooperates for us...leaving cold PA and hitting warm FL. :thumbsup2

I would take a bus to MK followed by a boat the Ft. Wilderness. I believe you will have to take an internal bus to get to HDDR. So I'd plan for 90 minutes.

You'll probably be in your room by 3:15 or 3:30. So you're cutting it close. In that case, I'd take a cab. It shouldn't cost more than $15 plus tip.

You are right up to the point of a internal bus. You don't need one. When you get off the boat you just walk straight up and the hall is right there. No need for buses for Hoop Dee Doo from the boat dock.
I would however aloow at least 1 1/2 hours to get there. You are supposed to be there early to check in as well. Sometimes you may miss a bus, or whatever, and then just miss a boat, so it could take awhile to get there.

I was talking to our TA the other day and she said that if I have room requests to send them on to her and she'll make the call.

So since I've never made a room request before, which is easier and/or more productive? To let the TA handle it or just fax in the request myself? :confused3

And also...what do I request?!?:laughing: It's DH, myself and our four small princesses. We have a regular room and I'm not sure which buildings are more desirable than others.

Any help would be appreciated! We are looking at our final schedule for the week and are getting sooooo very excited!:banana:

Are you in two rooms? I'd have your TA make the request and make sure that the two rooms are connecting. Adjoining just means that they're next to each other. I'd look for something on first floor. Easier carrying sleeping kids.

Never mind. Room requests don't work anymore. See this thread:

Talked with a CM today. One of the new enhancements is that the rooms are now being assigned by computer. The computer doesn't see any room requests that are noted. The CM at check in will see the notes then and can try for any requests.

It will not make a difference if you fax in your requests because the computer will not see it.

Also if you have more than one room you need to have them do a "travel with" on each reservation so that the computer will assign rooms close to the other. If you don't do this your rooms could be scattered around the resort.

Bolded by me.

I don't like that feature at all. I think it will make check in longer since so many people want to be in certain areas, and will change if they don't get it.

My 2 youngest and I just came back from a stay at Pop from December 11-17. We had an awesome time despite the cold! :)

When we first arrived, I discovered that our requests had not been honored. We had requested connecting rooms with my parents and had linked our reservations as well so that it would be easier to see that we were traveling together. My mom has some mobility issues so we wanted to be connecting just in case she needed help. In fact, when we first got there we were even in different buildings! :scared1: However, CM Kathy fixed the problem with a smile on her face. I have to say that Kathy was really just an awesome CM. She took what could have been a bad situation and just turned it right around like it was no big deal. Our rooms were even ready. :goodvibes This was our only major glitch of the entire trip.

We loved the food in the food court. The greek salad was amazing!! I really try to eat healthfully and it was wonderful to have a salad choice other than chicken caesar. My youngest was really happy that there was such a variety of kids' choices for him here on the dining plan. We liked the food court so much, that we deliberately tried to eat here as opposed to eating counter service in the parks! I will agree with previous posters that the food court can get crowded at times, but we never had any major problems finding a place to sit.

My kids loved the grounds. My youngest has ADHD and really needs to burn off energy so the loop around the resort and the lake gave him some running time. You would think that after walking the parks all day he would be tired, but not him. He needs to RUN! So he just loved getting some running time in areas where he didn't need to worry about bumping into a bunch of people.

All in all, our visit was really wonderful! :goodvibes:santa:

Yeah, I'm not liking it much either since we've already had one experience with CRO failing to note "travel with" on our reservations. I can just see us ending up in entirely different buildings when we're booking two rooms! :scared1:

I do love POP have stayed 4 times. 3 times in the 50's and once in the 60's.

This time I let my DS17 pick and he wats to stay in the 80's by Roger Rabbit. It does not look that far from Classic Hall and the bus's.

I would like to people's thoughts that have stayed in either the 80's or 90's section good or bad.

Thanks

Brooke:goodvibes

P.S. I have booked a trip for the last day for Free Dining Sept 29th.

those there this week - please tell us what the purchase$ with purchase$ items are in the EVERYTHING POP gift shop.

thanx

I stayed in the 90's on my first visit to Pop. I did not like the location. The walk to Classic Hall felt very long, although two things affected my opinion: 1. I was on the third floor; I now like ground floor rooms and 2. it was in November and the mornings were very cold that week, so the walk felt extra long.

Going to the buses from the 90's section was pretty good, but you're basically cutting across the parking lot. Looping around the lot was okay, cutting across the lot was a little dicey I thought.

Just got back from POP late last night. We had requested connected or adjoining rooms since we were traveling with my mom and sister. At first, we were in different buildings but the CM got on the phone and got us connecting rooms in the 90's building. The rooms were really nice and I loved the new beds. It was a walk to Classic Hall but not too bad if you crossed through the parking lot.
We ate at the food court several times and thought the food was good. It was way too cold to swim most of the week so no pool time for us.
The CMs were wonderful. We did have a few problems, like the refrigerator I requested did show up and we had to call 3 times. Finally, my husband went to the front desk and the refrigerator was there in 5 minutes and they didn't charge us for it. Keys stopped working the second day but it only took 5 minutes to fix.

I'm coming in from Philly on the same day too, just a few hours earlier. I'm hoping for some warm weather too. I really don't want to bring winter clothes with me.

Totally agree with this!! We were overlooking the computer pool our first trip, and I really hated that walk. Esp with a sleeping 4 yr old. It seemed FOREVER!!! There was one time I went to grab lunch for us to eat around the pool, and by the time I got back, my arms were trembling from carrying the heavy tray that far (and I really wasn't all that out of shape at the time)! I've paid for preferred ever since!

Hi - Just back from POP and had a great time! Yes, it was cold for 4 days but we brought coats (Land's End thinsulate - warm but not bulky), hats and gloves. We also had 3 days of shorts weather, and we all swam in the pool.

I had requested connecting rooms (that was our ONLY request, we didn't request a particular building) through our TA a couple months prior to the trip. Then I faxed the request to POP 4 or 5 days before the trip. We got three rooms all next to each other and two were connecting. First floor in the 50's building. It was perfect, and we didn't need to make any changes at check in! I'm sure if we needed to make changes, they would've been willing and able to do it. All front desk people were very courteous and accommodating. Try not to worry if you're headed down soon and want rooms together -- Disney wants you to be happy :)

Hi! Just back today. One of them is a rolling duffel and I think the other one is a throw...can't remember if it's the woven throw or the fleece one. Different offers in different parks and such.
