Yes there are mug washing sinks at the Foodcourt!!!:thumbsup2
I was gonna say people wash them in the :lmao:pool:rotfl2: But that would have beeen mean!!!:) The sink in the room is a standard bathroom type sink so the foodcourt ones are much better !!

I've heard about these cloths that come pre-soaked with dish detergent. Has anyone had any experience with these...or have any idea what I'm talking about? :confused3

We love them! We get them all the time when we travel to wash the kid's sippy cups and bottles. They come in a plastic box and I think we usually get them at CVS. We have not gotten them recently since we have been doing the rental house thing, but they are great! (also, I have not seen them in Canada)

Thanks for the replies about washing the mugs, and I am very happy not to have to wash them in the pool! :lmao:

I haven never heard of the wipes with detergent, I'll have to get some of those!

Although I have never done this, I have read/heard some people doing the following:

Take a sponge or 2 (depending on how many people and days) and cut into squares. Put a few drops of liquid dishwashing soap on each of the sponge pieces and let it soak in. Put into a resealable plastic baggie. When you're ready to wash your mugs, take a sponge piece out, clean your mugs and disgard.

You are welcome and sooo glad you didn.t take offence at my sense of humor .. sometimes I can't help myself  I see you are new to the Dis I expect that before long you will be a VETERAN!!! This is addicting !!:cool1:

Good luck on getting the room you want and have a great time!

I was going to say, why not wash the mug out in the tub? Well, using that faucet at least? I know we've rinsed out coolers there. You'd have a stronger flow and more room (I'm not sure the mug would fit under the sink faucet, although I think the mug designs are different these days).

I see we check in the same day!! :woohoo:Is this your first pop stay? Did you request a specific section?

Yep, first time at Pop, but we did the All Stars 3 times back many years ago, until my youngest had the audacity to turn 3 and then we no longer fit! This time it's just DS16 and me going, so I think we should be good on space.

I requested top floor, quiet area, lake view if possible. My big concern is top floor and we'll go from there! How about you? We'll be the ones with the lime green on all the time (or the DIS shirts - we have both grey and lime green ones - think two sets for each of us!). If you see us (a mom and a tall, gangly 16 year old boy!), feel free to say hi! We'll also have lime green Mickey heads on our fanny packs (although his says DS15 - I'm too lazy to make new ones this trip so he gets his brother's leftover from 2 years ago!). :rotfl:

I have been reading the Pop threads for a while now. They are really great, and everyone's enthusiasm is contagious. I arrive at Pop in just 31 days. I have never stayed there, but I am really looking forward to it. Actually this is my first time at a value resort. We went value this time, because now that my grandson is 16, we need 2 rooms. There are 3 of us, and this way, we all get our own bed. With my AAA discount, I got a really good rate.

Back to reading this great thread.

First time at Pop - how important are preferred rooms over standard? We will be using the busses - no car this trip. It will just be me and my DD-10. Will I regret it if I go with a standard room?

I don't think preferred is worth it. Pop is a really small resort. I don't think anywhere is more than a 5 minute walk to the buses.

There is a map around somewhere that someone has how many feet from the bus stops each building is. I can't find it! Hopefully someone will see this and know what I am talking about :confused3

I think I saw that post, but it was a little confusing.

For instance, I think it gave a distance of between 900 and 1000 from one of the buildings to the bus stop, and said that was less than a football field.

A football field is 300 feet long, so that's over 3 football fields! Big difference!

if you're looking for a location closest to the bus stops, I would suggest the 80's section. We were in the 80's once (the building with the walkman on it)and it was very close to the bus stops; we just cut through the parking area to get there; from our room it only took a couple of minutes.

The info you are looking for is found on this thread on page 1. Here is the link for the map that shows feet from the different sections.

You can also check out this map, also found on page 1, and just request a section in a building with a room right next to a preferred room without the cost.

Hope this helps :thumbsup2

Has anyone had any problems shipping water from Costco to POP? I am helping someone else do it and they are getting an error message saying they cannot locate the address for POP Century and we are using the same address as in post #1 of this thread.

:surfweb:I've read the first post but could'nt find the answer...

Do they provide glasses (or cup) for drinking in the room ? If so, how many (including the one in the bathroom) ?

I know it's a strange question:rolleyes: but I need to know what to pack,

Thanks

I think there are about 4 plastic/disposable cups left at the sink in your room by mousekeeping. I am sure if you ask they could provide you with a few more.

Here's a tip use a sharpie or stickers and lable a cup for each person, you can rinse and reuse them and then dispose of them each night and mousekeeping will leave new ones in the morning.

HTH

We just got back from a 14 day stay at Pop Century (June 30 - July 14). I "inspected" the room when we arrived and it was perfect. We had no problems with mousekeeping except they forgot to take their tip a few times. The pools were never closed for an unscheduled cleaning, but were closed a few times because of lightening. We didn't have any problems with buses and rode a few non-Disney busses during busy times. The food court was great and never busy when we used it. There were times that it was packed: 8 am and 9 pm (silly people). I did NOT hear any slamming doors, flushing toilets of kids running down the sidewalk. We stayed in room 1033 bldg 10 in the 70's and received a free upgrade. I was disappointed that there is no laundry room in the 70's area. I used the the laundry by the computer pool and it wasn't very busy. The Purex 3-1 laundry soap clothes worked great. The coin exchange machine didn't work all of the time, but I came prepared with 2 rolls of quarters. Bring your own quarters - it's a long walk to the front desk.

This is close to what I did. I used one sponge, got it damp and soapy (like I was going to wash the table after ice cream:lmao:), then left it standing up on the side of the sink until it dried. I was glad I started early, because it took forever to dry, like 6 days I think. Could be because it was hot, humid NY summer weather when I did it.

Then when it was dry, I cut it into squares and dropped them into a little baggie. Worked GREAT to wash sippy cups and resort mugs out in our room. I looked all over for the wipes with soap, but could not find them here.

I didn't have any problem last September when I ordered water from COSTCO and had it shipped to Pop. :thumbsup2
I am planning on doing it again next month so I'd be interested in anyone's recent experience :surfweb:
