Fall 2026 itineraries

Why do we think DCL is delaying itinerary releases?

I feel like sales must be soft right now. The reduced deposit across the board (not just as a promo) was an odd move. Especially since this is usually the time they drop new itineraries and could’ve easily generated more cash flow that way. Instead, they rolled out a generous policy before releasing anything new, which makes me think they’re trying to boost bookings on current sailings before giving people more options.

My guess is they don’t want to risk cannibalizing their own audience by releasing late fall 2026/winter 2027 while there’s still a lot of unsold inventory in 2025/early 2026. I wonder with the Treasure and then the Adventure and Destiny coming onboard if they have simply expanded too fast for the market especially with the price point and so many short sailings out of FL. (I personally think the Dream is REALLY going to struggle to fill this Jan & Feb doing 3/4 nights out of Ft Lauderdale.)

The Disney Visa onboard credit stacking with restricted GT rates is also a bit of a red flag. It is not Disney+ kids sail free but I would not be shocked if we get something like that for the Dream this winter.

Of course DCL could be holding off because a big announcement is coming but the silence makes it feel more like a strategic delay due to soft bookings than a buildup to something exciting.

Curious what everyone else thinks. Do you feel like this is a sign of slow demand or do you think they’re holding back for a bigger reason?

The current 30% off sale on *most* Australian cruises for 2025/2026 ends July 25th so I wonder if they are waiting til that sale is over to release the next round of itineraries (considering the 2026 and possibly 2027 AUS cruises could be in this next release)?

I think it's a combination of price, itineraries and market saturation. Disney has all these new ships coming in but are offering very little in regards to shaking up itineraries. Sending the Magic to Alaska at the same time as the Wonder, and offering pretty much the same itineraries, is very telling. They have all this extra capacity but don't seem to know what to do with it. There's little being offered in the way of unique itineraries. People don't want to rebook DCL just to do the exact same thing again, at a price that is likely higher compared to last time. The cruises in New Zealand and Australia are a great example of this, people were excited when the first season was announced, but now many people that want to stay loyal to DCL are decrying the fact that there is absolutely no variety to what's being offered.

Fairy Godmother pauses trying to remember how it goes

BOO

The crowd starts singing Bippity Boppity Boo

Ok everyone today has to be the day

I saw on Twitter from couple creditable DCL heavy content accounts that were speculating why no Fall release yet? Apparently Galveston is getting LNP ready in second half of 27. So they were speculating Wish gets sent to TX and new Triton class ship takes Wish place.

Considering the ships take approx 2 years from first build date to sail date, I can’t see that Wish 4 would be delaying the next release for winter 2026. Even if they were trying to make a decision with the Wish for the early part of 2027, why not release everything else except the Wish (like they have done in the past with the Wonder.)

There is also speculation the Wish goes to Europe in 2027, so maybe the WBTA that year would end in Galveston if the Wish does go there.

Wish is set for a dry dock in 2027 so it likely will be heading to Europe in May of 2027 which is not a real reason not to release dates for Fall 2026\Winter 2027. DCL has left the transatlantic off the initial Fall\Winter release before and the rest of Europe would not be out until the next release date.

I could see the Wish in Galveston after her drydock but that would be Oct 2027 for her in Galveston which still falls under "Sailing Year Round STARTING in 2027" but is likely not what most people think when they hear it. October of 2027 would not even be released until this time next year.

Wish #4 is set to come online in 2027 which makes sense with the Wish going to Galveston (depending on the theme of the new ship) but again those dates would be in a later release.

dreamer17555, I think a lot of your hypotheses are right on point. I feel like the anticipation is bubbling over for the Fall 2026 release but I'm also setting my expectations low and not expecting any major announcements or changes with what is released. I'd love to see NYC as a departure port again but in truth, I do not think it is likely to actually happen, at least not for fall 2026.

They sort of pushed me to another line at this point. We are planning an Alaska cruise for August 2026, but were undecided if we would just do a one week roundtrip cruise or a cruise plus a land trip. I was holding out deciding because if there's a Panama Canal cruise in the fall I want to book that and would do a shorter August trip. But at this point I've booked a one way Alaska cruise with Princess and am starting to plan the land trip. I could still cancel and change plans (and might depending when/what they release), but the more invested I am in this Alaska trip, the less likely I am to want to cancel it. I guess Disney probably doesn't care, anyway, because the PC is not a high price per night cruise for them and it will likely sell out regardless. But I'm sure there's other people giving up and making plans with other lines, too.

Thanks, wasnt sure if it would be in the fall releases or if there is a spring release also.

If it's late May, it could end up in the next release drop but I'd expect it in this one.

I think the fall 2025 release last year also included spring 2026 dates. Especially considering the delay this year I hope they do release spring; spring 2027 is likely to work better for me and my family than fall 2026.

But it also looks like spring itinerary releases are most often in October or November, based on the itinerary release dates recorded at the Disney Cruise Line Blog. So I guess we’ll see!

It didn't look like there was a ton of wiggle room in the current port schedule for NY in fall 2026, although some of the bookings might just be placeholders.

Interesting. We love the Transatlantic cruises and have been sailing this itinerary almost every year (alternating with Panama Canal) since the Transatlantic itineraries were announced in 2007. I am not too happy with the layout of the Wish, and it was a big change for me when Dream started to cruise in Europe. I guess we will sail the Wish in Europe if it comes to be, even though it has a very different layout of the Magic or Dream, as we love to go to Europe. Right now just focusing on the Fall 2026.
