GREAT pic!! I'm sad there won't be any P&P parties when I'm there (the MVMCPs will have started - mid-Nov  )

Sorry about the rough run. Work your magic and listen to that body, girl. You'll be back to having GREAT runs in no time!! :thumbsup2

Look at it this way....ONE down....:woohoo: (and I bet today's run was better ;) )

Hey Amy--Sorry to hear you had a tough run the other day, I know you will bounce back from it! Take care of the aches and pains--you don't want them to get worse.

BTW--love the picture from the Pirate and Princess party....love the outfits!!

Keep up the good work!

OK...Monthly Update time :)

August Totals:

Run Goal: 65 Miles Run Actual: 66 Miles :cool1:

XT Goal: 20 Hours XT Actual: 20 hrs, 45 min. :thumbsup2

I'm very happy that I exceeded both goals heading into :Goofy: training!

------------------------------------------

I'll update my weekly totals tomorrow, but I wanted to report on my successful WALK today! This was the first Saturday walk/run at half the distance of my Sunday long run!!! So I set out to do 3 miles (tomorrow I'm running 7). It was VERY interesting! Here is the breakdown:

Mile 1 ALL WALK: 13:45 mpm
Mile 2 Run 1 min/Walk 4 min: 12:20 mpm
Mile 3 Primarily Walk w/ a few short runs: 12:22 mpm

Total Run Time: 38:40, average MPM 12:49, average HR 145

-------------------------------------------

Oh yeah...had a super tempo run on thursday to make up for my stinky tuesday run. Managed to hit a 9:04 mpm pace for the 3 miles of the tempo portion. It is secretly really fun to run fast every now and then :).

Thanks for stopping by . I'll update my week tomorrow after doing my 7 Miler.

Man girl. You always continue to amaze me.

Those month-end numbers are AWESOME. And I'm glad your Thursday run went well, as well as today's walk.

There's really nothing you can't do. :cheer2:

Amy you are amazing. Congratulations on exceeding your goals for August. You are so ready for the goofy training.:woohoo: .

Have a great weekend,\Beth

Weekly Update :thumbsup2

I've had a very good and solid week of training. With the stinky Tuesday run aside everything went very well in this, my first week of :goofy: training.

Today I did a 7 mile LR....pace was very consistent around 10 mpm....finished in 70:56. I'm very pleased with that:thumbsup2 . The biggest deal about this run is that I did not walk...not for a single second :cloud9: . I think the nice cool temps and just really hitting some new mental place with the running, really gave me the ability to have a wonderful long run. I just hope it continues!

Weekly Results:
Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 5 Mile Run, 60 min Pilates
Wednesday: 70 min Pilates, 30 min Ski Machine
Thursday: 4 Mile Tempo Run
Friday: 60 min Pilates
Saturday: 3 Mile Walk
Sunday: 7 Mile Run, *scheduled 60 min Pilates

Totals:
Ran: 16 miles
Walk: 3 miles
Cardio XT: 30 min
Pilates: 250 min

Thanks for stopping by! I appreciate the well wishes and support. I hope everyone has a nice Labor Day! :sunny:

Hi Amy

Wow! Exceeded August goals (with what...18 days away from home?) and then smoked the first week of training!! I'm super proud of you buddy

One of the best things I've heard you say in recent memory is that you've hit a new mental place with the long runs...that's a HUGE accomplishment in my book. Can't believe you knocked out 7 miles without breaking for a walk!! I think the mental battle is 95% of running....I really think that the only thing stopping us sometimes is our own mind....obviously physical ailments are an exception, but hopefully you reached a new level today...and if you can harness that in on every single run (at least the long ones), look out!! Your potential is so limitless!

Thanks for continuing to be such a great inspiration for me. It's so exciting to be taking part in another journey with you :)

Be well my friend - namaste...

Amy,

Great job on surpassing your August goals! :thumbsup2 It's awesome when you think about the fact that you were on vacation during the month as well. You, my friend, are an inspiration!

It also looks like you got a great week of Goofy training under your belt as well. :thumbsup2 Keep up the good work!:cheer2:

Hope you have a great Labor Day!

Hey Amy--WTG on your August goals!!! You are doing so great! And an awesome job on your 7 miler--great pace!! Scott is right about the mental part of it, that is pretty much most of the battle for us!!

Keep up the good work!!!

Are you enjoying your off day??? Something tells me that Mondays will be our favorite days of the week for the next few months ;)

Have a great night!

Hey Amy,

Just checking in to see how your training went this week. I was thinking about you out on the running trail this morning. Hope all is well!

Hi Amy,

I am just checking in to say hi and see how the training has gone this week. How is DD doing with the new school year?

Take care,
Beth

Hi Amy,
Sounds like you continue to do well. I took your advice and started a journal- only 2 days worth now but my days are preset for what I am doing for exercise challenges for myself. I am up to almost 3 miles- sounds weak I know but I think I have progressed pretty good, coming from the couch as of Aug.20th. HA!HA! Keep up the great work you truly are inspiring.Love to read your posts.
Linda

Will we see a post from you tonight?? ;)

My psychic abilities tell me to go ahead and tell you congrats on another successful week of training!! (putting hands on crystal ball) I see that you had to switch up your long run do to an exciting mother/daughter event...I bet it was hot, but you got the miles in anyway...(channeling greater psychic powers) good job, my Goofy running pal....you are set for a great week 3 coming up :)

Have a good night! (something tells me I'll be back here in a while...)

Hello Everyone....

So things are getting busy around here :). Last night I camped with my daughter and her girl scout troop. I'm a troop leader BUT this was a mother-daughter camp over so I really got to spend a lot of quality time with her. We had fun and it was so nice to have all that one-on-one with my "baby".

Since I had to camp last night I figured it would be best to do my 8 Mile LR on Saturday instead of Sunday (amazing psychic abilities Scott!!!)....yeah.....12 girls, 12 adults all crowded together didn't seem to make for the best night's sleep  . LOL. So Saturday it was. The only problem with that is on Friday I attended my first Yoga class in 10 months, accidentally going to an advanced level class...oops  ...and was sore from head toe, and in muscles I never knew existed when awoke on Saturday!!! Heavy tight legs (isn't yoga supposed to loosen you up??) :confused3

The sore muscles...and the heat and humidity which had returned....made for a SLOW run. But it's in the books. I'll try not to notice how fast Speedy ran his 8 miler today. NOT looking. NOT looking. NOT looking. :rolleyes1 .

Aside from that I start teaching my Pilates classes this week. I'm slightly nervous....but Totally EXCITED! :yay: I will be teaching two classes this week then moving to my full schedule the following week. I will be teaching 6 Pilates classes per week :). Wish me luck and send me some PD if you have any to spare LOL!

Here's my weekly update:

Ran: 17 Miles
Walk: :( didn't happen..decided to give my legs 2 days off from cardio
Ski Machine: 30 Minutes
Pilates/Yoga: 240 Minutes

Thanks so much for stopping by!!!! :sunny:

Hi Amy!!

CONGRATS again on the Pilates teaching success!! And here it comes....

wait for it....

wait for it.....

pixiedust: :wizard: GOOD LUCK!!!

I'm so excited for you!!! You are going to do great, I just know it :)

Awesome week of training too! I know that Yoga class kicked your butt (ooohhhmmmmmmmmmm oooohhhmmmmmmmmmm) and you still pulled out a nice and solid 8 mile long run. Great job, and enjoy today and tomorrow off from the running..you deserve it!!

And....um.....say......

*delete*

Have a great evening!! Enjoy the VMA's ;)

First I gotta say - the VMA's? ugh. I watched Britney and Sara Silverman, then turned it off. ugh. :sad2:

Congrats on another great training week! :thumbsup2

And a BIG OL' congrats on your pilates teaching job! :woohoo: I agree with Scott...I know you'll do really well!
