The fine line between crazy and insane....kickin' asphalt on the way to Goofy '08

Good Morning Amy! During my 35 min walk/run last night, there were times when I thought, "why am I doing this?" "Do I actually think I can do the 5K?" But as I would round the cul-de-sac by my house and think about stopping before my time was up, I would think of you and how you set a goal for yourself and despite last minute opposition you ran down your goal. Just knowing how hard you worked and the fact that YOU DID IT kept me going! Thanks for posting to your journal! I think I may start one of my own. :rolleyes1

Thanks for the inspiration!

Happy Training!!!
Stacie

OMG...too funny!!! Scott you are totally out of yer' mind matey.

Quick update on me....

Amy = :sick:

Didn't run yesterday...just felt so totally out of it from this nasty cold/cough thing. I'm going to go out and try to run now. I'm really not sure what to expect :confused3 . I'll see how it feels and any miles are good miles today.

Thanks everyone. And Scott! I needed that laugh today buddy. THANK YOU!

:rotfl: OMG, Scott. You are a freakin' trip. pirate:

Amy - I hope you feel better soon. You are where I was last week, and I can tell you - it's NO fun! (well, I guess I don't have to tell you). I'm glad you gave it an extra day of rest, and I hope you didn't push it too hard today.

Take care, girlie. :goodvibes

Hi Amy

I hope you are feeling better

Just wanted to say I thought about you tonight during my run....I was feeling a tad tired at the bottom of my big hill, but proceeded to run up it anyway...using pure anger at the hill to will myself up it....upon reaching the summit, I turned around and gave that SOB the finger...stupid hill.

Sometimes talking to it works, but sometimes pavement rage takes over...

Just made me remember our funny convos last year about what you had read. :goodvibes:

Have a good night!

I finally finished reading your journal (the one from last year and this one) and all I can say is WOW - just WOW - you are one inspirational person! Thank you so much for your encouragement and support - you have your hands full with your family and training for the half AND full marathon next year, and yet you still take the time to boost the spirits of others who are just starting out on this getting healthier journey. It makes me feel good to know that I might have helped you get out there this week, but I am sorry you have been sick and I hope you feel better soon. Remember to listen to yourself - if you need extra rest to recuperate, please take it. Then you will be back out running longer and faster than ever before you know it!

I will be keeping up with your progress as you train and I will think of you each time I work out. Keep it up - you're inspiring a whole bunch of us out here!:goodvibes

Hi Amy,
I am running 3.7 miles now and I did it in 42 mins.-is that decent for someone who has only been doing this since the end of Aug.?I feel great! I just hope my time is in there. As someone else said as I am running after reading everyone's journals(esp.yours because it is so awesome)it keeps me going thinking of what has been said.My calves were killing me but I ran through it and kept on plugging!
Linda

Hey there Amy,

I am hoping that you are fully recovered and out right now enjoying this fall weather. How is the training going this weekend?

Take care of yourself,
Beth

Wow!!!!! :cloud9: What lovely posts in my journal! You guys are so awesome...thank you so much Stacie, Linda, Susan, Beth, Kim and Scott :goodvibes . Really...it's so nice to get such wonderful support.

Sorry I've been MIA...was away for the weekend and didn't have computer access....:scared1: . NOT cool ;).

I'm still fighting this cold...wow it really affected my running this week :(.

I taught pilates last week and my full schedule kicks in starting TODAY!!! I'll be teaching 6 classes (two on my rest day lol...hmmm...guess no more rest days!) ;). But I love it...it's great to work with so many people and help them with their goals. I really believe that movement heals and pilates in particular is so therapeautic!

'Nuff about that...here's my training update for last week:

Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: scheduled 5 Mile run...but I had to put it off b/c I felt  . Instead I did 30 minutes ski machine and 60 minutes pilates, plus taught a pilates class.
Wednesday: Ran 3 Miles (all I could muster not feeling well)
Thursday: 60 minute Pilates class, 30 minute elliptical
Friday: 60 minutes Pilates, 5 Mile run
Saturday: Taught 60 minute pilates, Walk/Run 4 Miles
Sunday: 8 Mile LR

Totals:
Ran: 16 miles (short of my 18 miles planned)
Walk/Run: 4 miles (13 mpm today)
Cardio XT: 60 minutes :thumbsup2 . Managed to bump that up!
Pilates/Yoga taken: 180 minutes
Pilates taught: 120 minutes

Let's hope I can get rid of this stinky cold :(. It's really making the workouts extra tough!!! My long run on Sunday was brutal...VERY difficult...managed 11 mpm which is fine...but wow it felt tough.

Thanks for stopping by. Gotta' go catch up on everyones' journals! :sunny:

Hi Amy!

I bet you are out there right now blazing through that 6 miler :goodvibes:

Great week!!! I can't believe you did so much while you were sick...please be careful and don't cause the cold/allergy to become something worse. Hopefully you are feeling better this week :)

Great job again with the Pilates and good luck this week!! Can't believe you are teaching so many classes already! Just take care of yourself and enjoy the teaching....you've done so well and deserve total success :)

Have a great day!
