The fine line between crazy and insane....kickin' asphalt on the way to Goofy '08

Hold on...hold on....

did someone actually mention George Michael?? Trying to make me paranoid about using public restrooms today? :scared:

geesh...

ok...where was I....OH YEAH...Amy's place :goodvibes

Hi Aimster!!

What's the word...tha word up? :woohoo:

I just want to say great week and more importantly, I'm so proud of you for building up this base while listening to your body and remaining injury free!! Great job!!

This shoe fiasco stinks, I've heard that Asics is upping the models again this fall...maybe they will right the mistakes made with this last line of crap?? We can only hope...

Have a blast at the conference this week! Do we call you something different now?? Dr. Amy, Amy LPI (licensed pilates instructor), Coach Amy, etc?? Fill me in please so I can properly address you :)

Have a good week....keep up the GREAT work!!

Thanks Scott...I really appreciate your support  . Sometimes the training is challenging...the runs get long....the aches and pains show up daily....and I wonder why I do this :). It helps a ton to get your support as I head into this very daunting journey. Running has never been an easy thing for me primarily due to my leg issues and lingering injuries. Anyway....I think I'm doing the best I can and I'm proud of myself for what I've accomplished this summer in terms of building my base....but it sure helps a lot to read your encouraging words :).

I just really wanted to thank you for being such a great buddy! I really believe we are going to have a great experience in January during BOTH races :goofy:.

Wow...thank you  Very nice words there :goodvibes

When we started this whole thing last spring, you offered me a TON of support and encouragement...heck it was you who convinced me to do the full marathon...you have guided me along with my training ever since then and the least I can do is give a little of that support back to you. Most people don't know what you went through last January...the pure grit and determination of completing 26.2 miles in severe pain...but I do, and I'm amazed that you came right back at it, most people would have quit the race & dropped running from their normal workout routine. You took the time to heal and then came back smarter and stronger than ever, and it's so cool to sit back and watch you build that base for training...you've done a great job this summer...your July was the best month of training I've seen you complete.

I feel like Jan '08 is going to be a HUGE success for you, as well as the training leading up to it....and you can count on me to be there every step of the way :)

Have a great day! Hope the classes are going well :thumbsup2

Quickly popping in to say 'hi'! You are absolutely INCREDIBLE with your training! Pilates is something I keep thinking I should try.....Maybe you'll inspire me~!

Have a wonderful weekend!

Just an update from my world....not that there's much to say. Here's to insomnia :thumbsup2 .

Pilates conference is over, learned a bunch, worked out a bunch, and still stayed on plan for training. I'm just happy that i managed to get my run and an elliptical session in during conference days. They were long 12 hour days involving a lot of working out. That's a good thing right? Trying to remind myself of that now that I can feel many muscles that I never knew existed. How is it possible that every space between my ribs hurts? :confused3

As for the remainder of the work-out week...I need to run tomorrow....hopefully the weather cooperates a bit. I'd love to get a long bike ride in on Saturday if schedule allows but I'm supposed to play basketball in a charity b'ball scramble. That does not sound like fun to me right now....my body is screaming! Sunday is Long Run day so I'll be out pounding the pavement for 7 miles for sure.

Thanks for the nice posts Scott and Julie. Very kind of you both to post. I needed the motivation this week since things are a bit tough right now. I do appreciate the support so much.

Hi Amy!

Just wanted to commend you again on getting these workouts in despite all of the stuff you have going on this summer! You've got to be pretty worn out with all of the Pilates classes on top of the running & elliptical, but you just haven't stopped. You've got such a solid base built up this year, I'm so happy for you!

And congrats again on the whole Pilates deal. Getting certified was a big step for you and now taking classes and continuing your education in that field is quite admirable. Keep up the great work and good luck with everything Pilates related

Have a great weekend!

Hey girl. WELCOME BACK!!

You really are a super woman, you know that? GREAT job keeping on track with all of your training while in the middle of another strenuous batch of workouts. :woohoo:

Continue to listen to your body and get plenty of rest (even if you're not sleeping at night, which seems to be the way you've been going lately).

Love ya girl.

Amy, you are amazing!:cheer2: It sounds like you have been doing some serious working out the past few days at the conference and with your training.:thumbsup2 Please be sure and take a rest day if you need it.

Have a great weekend!:cool1:

Weekly update time :). Another week of training in the books :thumbsup2 .

Monday: Rest Day

Tuesday: 5 Miles (10:55); 150 Minutes Pilates

Wednesday: 90 Minutes Pilates

Thursday: 30 Minutes Elliptical; 90 Minutes Pilates

Friday: 4 Mile Tempo Run in the RAIN! (tempo pace 9:14)

Saturday: 11 Mile Bike Ride

Sunday: 7 Mile Run (10:17), 20 Minutes Pilates

-----------------------------------------

Weekly Totals:

Run: 16 Miles
Bike: 11 Miles (40 Minutes)
Elliptical: 30 Minutes
Pilates: 350 Minutes (includes classes taken at Pilates Style conference)

-----------------------------------------

Thanks for the continued support and well wishes :). I will be leaving for WDW on Wednesday. It will be a major challenge for me to continue training at the level that I've been doing for the past few months. The bottom line, however, is that I do not have an option. Barring illness or injury I will need to get in 5 Runs, 5 XT sessions, and I will need to do at least 6 sessions of Pilates on my own. It will require running in the Florida heat and humidity  ; finding routes to suit my needs and working training around everybody else's vacation schedule. Phew...wish me luck :scared: . I'll try to post while I'm away so I can update my training!

Have a GREAT trip, Amy! We'll miss ya around here, but look forward to hearing all about it when you return!

Oh, and AWESOME week of training, girl. :woohoo:

hi Amy

Yet another great week of workouts in the book for you....those pilates totals are insane! Good job...you are just so prime for Goofy training...such a great, solid base there. Nice work this summer getting yourself ready despite all of the obstacles thrown your way.

Have a great time the next couple of weeks in WDW, Sea World, the cruise and wherever else your travels may take you. I know you are so focused on your workouts, but don't forget to have some fun too. You will certainly be missed.

Hi Amy,

I'm new, but I just wanted to tell you that I think you are amazing. Your exercise schedule makes me exhausted just reading it. Thank you for inspiring me to get off my butt.

Have a great trip.

Safe journey.
Beth

Hi Amy,

Have a great time at WDW!:woohoo: Don't forget to take a couple of rest days if your body needs it. You are doing an absolutely fantastic job with your training, Amy!:cheer2:

Have fun and please tell Mickey that we'll see him real soon!:goodvibes

Hi Amy!

Wonder if you'll be checking in while you are on vacation??

I hope you are having a great time on your trip :goodvibes And knowing that you are going to be in WDW for a time...I think I have a good idea

I was watching a bit of the PGA Championship last weekend and for some reason I was thinking of all of the pre-tournament research that the golfer/caddy combo does before the actual event...you know, walking off yardage, scouting the greens, determining proper club yardage, etc...all in order to make them prime and ready come crunch time. Soooo....I thought we could be prime and ready for Goofy if you were to, um, maybe scout out the marathon course for us in advance...you know, maybe jog it or something and note any trouble areas (hills, bad smells, lack of potties)?? I think it'd definitely help us in our quest to sub-2 the half and sub-4 the full. :rotfl2:

Just let me know....:thumbsup2

Check in if you get the chance...if not, have a great trip!

Hi Everyone :mickey:

Yep...posting this from BWV in da' World ;). Wow...did I mention how challenging it was going to be to get the training in while I was down here? LOL. Woah. It's HOT HOT HOT :sunny:. And humid. And I'm exhausted from park touring  . But here's what I've managed to do this week, aside from losing half my body weight in sweat.

Update time...

Monday: Rest Day
Tuesday: 4 Mile Run, 60 min Pilates
Wednesday: 75 Min. Pilates Class (travel day too)
Thursday: 5 Mile Run on hotel treadmill, 20 Min. Pilates + arms
Friday: 15 min. lifecycle, 15 min elliptical, 20 min pilates
Saturday: 7 mile run around BW/MGM....(2 of which were on the treadmill when the heat started to get to me), 20 min pilates
Sunday: Scheduled to do 30 Min Elliptical, 20 Min Pilates

If all goes well...weekly totals should look something like this (padded the numbers assuming I'll get to the FC tomorrow):

Run: 16 Miles
Pilates: 215 minutes
XT: 60 minutes

We head out to the Disney Wonder tomorrow late morning. On the ship I plan to do two runs totally 9 miles and two xt sessions on the lifecycle and/or elliptical. When I get back here I need to get an xt session in somewhere AND a long run (7 miles) at POR. The heat is brutal. I thought NJ weather was bad. :rotfl:

OK...that's it for now. I'll try to post some pics when/if I get to upload them on the laptop later.

Thank for stopping by.

Ohhh...and Scott.....sure I'll check out the marathon course. No prob...I'll run it later in the week. Gotta be prepared. .

Hope you're having a WONDERFUL time, Amy!

When you get back, can you PM me some Pilates info? My gym has 3 classes a week & I am always leary of walking into one & it being WAY over my head & feeling really STUPID, but I'm very interested & think I'd like to try.

Thanks!

Hey Amy! I'm glad you're having fun, as well as getting in your workouts. PLEASE keep safe in that crazy FL heat!

Hi Amy,

It sounds like you are having a wonderful time. You deserve a medel for getting all those workouts and runs in while on vacation. I'm really impressed.

Have a wonderful time,
Beth
