The fine line between crazy and insane....kickin' asphalt on the way to Goofy '08

:) thanks guys!

So here is the latest from my world. Still down in Florida...just got back today from the cruise. I'm EXHAUSTED....so much for relaxing on vacation  .

Today was my first rest day since a week ago Monday. I managed to stay on plan during the cruise. On Sunday I worked out at the FC ab BWV (15/15 elliptical and bike) plus 20 minutes pilates. Monday on the ship I ran 4 miles (just couldn't pull out the 5) with a pace of around 10:20...it was TOUGH but I got it done...finished up with pilates and stretching. Tuesday on the ship I managed to do 30 minutes of "hills plus" on the lifecycle...even got my HR up a bit ;). After that I did pilates for 20 minutes again along with more stretching. Wednesday was my temp run (ugh!) of 4 miles. It was brutally tough run...between the sun/heat and too much food and just not sleeping well along with a cold starting to get a hold of me...it was tough. But I did manage to run my tempo pace at approximately a 9:40 mpm. After the run I did pilates and some free weights as I feel my arms have been ignored a bit this past week.

Today was FINALLY a rest day :cool1: . It felt good to relax a bit. We did go to AK for the afternoon but it was nice to not have to get up and run or xt. Tomorrow I'll be back at it at a fitness center and I have a 7 mile run scheduled :( for Saturday. Should be FUN! ;).

I'll try to post a pic when I get chance. Thanks for stopping by everyone :sunny:.

Hi Amy,

This is a vacation right? Wow woman, you work your butt off even on vacation.:worship: I am so impressed with your discipline. Have a great time on that 7 miler.

Take care,
\Beth

Hey girlie. Thanks SO much for posting the pic! It's a GREAT picture of you guys. :thumbsup2

I'm glad you're able to get in your exercise while on vacation, as I know you and SuperScott start training VERY soon for that crazy weekend in January. :goofy:

Don't you DARE stress about not posting on our journals while you're away on vacation! We'd much rather you go out and have FUN!!

Um...

(searching for the little smiley that is drooling)

Nice pic! :thumbsup2

Hope you have a safe flight home tomorrow...and that the nasty storms didn't mess you up too much.

Almost forgot...

You gonna be doing any running on that plane flight back home?? How many times from the back lavatory to the cockpit constitue a mile? You seem to be working out everywhere else these days...nothing would surprise me!!

Great job with the vacation workouts!! Now it's time to get serious!!

YOU READY??? wooooohoooooo!!! Let's do this!!!

Hi Amy,

You and your DDs are gorgeous. That is a great picture. They must be proud of how had Mom is working.

Have a safe trip home.
Beth

:goodvibes Thanks everyone for stopping by!!!

Back from :sunny: Florida. Good to be back though...need to get into a normal routine, eat healthy, and start serious training!!!!

Weekly Update (not so good this week):
Monday: Ran 4 miles (ship treadmill), 15 pilates
Tuesday: 30 minute Lifcycle, 15 pilates
Wednesday: Ran 4 miles (ship treadmill), 15 pilates
Thursday: Rest Day
Friday: 30 minutes pilates
Saturday: Ran 6 miles (around POR)

Totals:
Ran: 14 miles :(
Pilates: 75 minutes :(
Cardio XT: 30 minutes :(

Sooo...it was something...but not really that impressive. The heat in Florida really took a toll...and the vacation wore me down a bit. But at least I got something done I guess *shrug*

Thanks for stopping by!!

Don't you DARE get down on yourself about the week you just had. You STILL put in miles and did XT and did pilates. Actually, without actually seeing the training plan you'll be following (starting today, I believe), this is probably EXACTLY what you need before you jump in for the next several months. That's my opinion, and I'm stickin' to it. :thumbsup2

I'd love to hear more about your trip. Are you gonna put together a trip report? I really, really, really want to do the Disney Cruise, but the DVC converstion just isn't good enough. :guilty: (I know, poor me)

I'm glad to have you back, and I really look forward to hearing all about the training over the next few months.

I'm your BIGGEST fan and I'm here for you ALL THE WAY! :cheer2:

Welcome back!!

GREAT JOB! You did that on top of non-stop park and cruise ship touring...quite an accomplishment there partner!!

Hope your night goes well and here's to that well deserved total rest day tomorrow!!

Hi Amy,

I have to agree with Scott and Kim. You did an amazing job while in Florida. You are kicking the training into high gear, so a slow week is just what your body needed to prepare for the toll you will be putting on it in the coming months. Your slow week still kicked my great week in the rear.

I am glad that you are safely at home. I am sending:wizard: for a smooth transition back into the real world.

Have a great Monday,
Beth

 Amy,

You did a great job with your training while on vacation! :goodvibes I think it was a good idea to take it a little bit easier this past week since you're starting the major portion of your training for the Goofy today. :goodvibes

Hope you have a wonderful week!

Hey Amy--WOW!!! You did so great on your training while on vacation! I wish I was that good!! You are doing so great with your training!!!! As we both start training for the races in January, I am sure we will see each other on the old running trail!!

BTW--I love the picture of you and your DDs!!!

Keep up the good work!

...was just thinking of you when I looked over my September calendar and noticed September 19th...."Talk Like A Pirate Day"!!!

I have a feeling this year's TLAPD is gonna be the best yet...just didn't want you to forget this important event on the horizon :)

Hope the 5 miler went well today!!

Hi There,

I am just checking in to see how bad the post vacation blues are. Actually, I hope you have settled into your routine and training without a hitch.

Take care,
Beth

...was just thinking of you when I looked over my September calendar and noticed September 19th...."Talk Like A Pirate Day"!!!!

Has it been a year already? :confused3

LOVED it last year...I may just have to brush up on me pirate-ness.pirate:

Amy - hope the Goofy training is going well so far, and I hope you're recovering from your very LAID BACK vacation. ;)

Yeah for "Talk Like A Pirate Day" ..... :cool1: . I guess I need to post my piratey picture from Pirate & Princess Party? What do you guys think?

WOW! First day of :goofy: training!!!! Can you say...... EEEEEEEKKKK :scared1: !!!!

Unfortunately this was NOT a stellar run. :sad2: Go figure...first day of :goofy: training and my run STUNK!!! It was supposed to be a nice easy, comfy recovery run. My pace was right where it should be give or take a few seconds....10:55 mpm......but unfortunately it felt AWFUL! :scared: I was fine for the first two miles, felt great! But then I really struggled. I was VERY thirsty...I know that I haven't been drinking enough water the past few days (or while in florida for that matter) and I think I was dehydrated. I just felt very weak and out of sorts during the run. Hopefully Thursday's run will be much better.

I thought I'd feel better tonight after Pilates but my legs are just aching...the old hip is acting up tonight and my new found butt pain is really bugging me. I have a pain in the butt. Noooooo.....I'm NOT talking about Scott. *tsk tsk* how dare you people think that LOL! :rolleyes1 Besides, he's really really NOT a pain in the butt. He's a perfect  :rotfl: . Anyway....Noooo...it's an actual pain in the butt muscle. And it hurts tonight. Ugh!

So that's it...a lousy 5 mile run and an hour of pilates. Tomorrow is a new day ;).

Thanks for checking in everyone! Only 8 days until the kids go back to school. Oh my...did I say that outloud? :rolleyes1

OK ok......here's the pirate picture from the pirate and princess party. WHICH by the way was soooo much fun. The only problem we had was that it POURED for hours so we had a very soggy party. We did manage to see the parade...which was really cute...and the fireworks...which were excellent!!! :)
