Jen's dad calls Derek Medina's contention she was violent a "fantasy." Behind me, Derek's dad muttered "sure buddy ... son of a *quot;

That is truly a tragedy that no child should ever have to endure." #Medina

Watching the OJ thing. 2nd night. Pretty good I think.

REMINDER: Juan Martinez will be on Dr. Phil on Monday, Feb. 15th.
Tanisha and one of the jurors from the second sentencing trial will also be there.
Also, there will be a few Jodi supporters....don't know if they will be on stage or just in the audience.

Yes, I watched the Steven Avery doc, it was very interesting despite it being one sided. The part that is so unjust is the questioning of Brendon Dassey and the circumstances behind his "confession." His attorney should be disbarred and run out of the country along with that investigator/social worker whoever the hell that was that made Dassey fill out the paperwork describing/drawing exactly how it happened when it didn't even happen that way. Scum, they're scum. And honestly, having been privy to seeing this kind of stuff happening in my previous career, um, I just have a bad attitude about the State and rules of evidence along with some of these half wit judges called the justice system.

I agree with you about the OJ series, saw it in real time (every single day for months), however my wife has scheduled it so I guess I'll be watching. :lmao:

And Durst, yes, The Jinx was really good. Durst is a character and he probably did kill his wife and then later his friend, Susan. We know he killed the neighbor. I just wonder if he'll live to go to trial in CA. And yeah, I wouldn't be surprised to see him acquitted, he can afford the best justice money can buy.

Here's my addiction/confession: every morning after I watch the first hour or so of news I switch it to a couple of hours of Andy Griffith, my favorite law enforcement officer. :happytv:
And I also have all the episodes on DVD. :lmao:

Here's the latest on that Michelle Carter case which was in court today (just remembered):
BOSTON (AP) — A lawyer for a Massachusetts teen charged with manslaughter for allegedly encouraging her boyfriend to kill himself has asked a judge to put the case on hold.

Michelle Carter‘s lawyer argued Tuesday in Taunton Juvenile Court that the criminal case shouldn’t move forward until the state’s highest court decides on an appeal of a judge’s refusal to dismiss the manslaughter charge.

The state Supreme Judicial Court is expected to hear Carter’s appeal in May.

Mare, how much longer are you laid up? I hope you've been able to see that granddaughter, you know it won't be long until she's in school full time, better grab this time.
Durst is not looking too well. I hope he makes it to trial and is convicted. Then he can die. I think The Jinx might be on YouTube. I'll have to check again.

I watched a few episodes of Andy Griffith last summer after my DH made pickles and someone told me about the pickle episode. LOL It really is a great show! Now that my cast is off it's a little harder to justify mass quantities of TV watching.

My son saw the Avery documentary and he was outraged about the treatment of Dassey also. At some point maybe I'll watch the rest of it. My mood has been a little off for a few weeks. My daughter's dog, who we absolutely adore, suddenly suffered a traumatic illness. We saw it all play out at our house as he got progressively worse and it's been so sad. (This was two days before this most recent surgery.) He's still alive but needs a tremendous amount of care. It's just heartbreaking. I'm not sure what happens next. :( I just don't always feel like watching something too heavy.

Potentially big news in the Ross Harris Georgia hot car death. His wife filed for divorce. Makes you wonder if she'll be a prosecution witness or defense witness. Is it because of his sexting relationships and/or because she believes or actually knows something about him and the death of their son? And if she does know something I wonder if she'll testify with the promise of immunity? This should be an interesting case.

I'm not up on most of the other cases mentioned in this thread. They do sound interesting tho.

UR, this recovery has been so much better than the last. Much less pain/discomfort. I got the cast off on Monday, in the midst of a snowstorm. My appointment was for the afternoon but they called in the morning to see if I could come in an hour. When I saw their phone number, I thought oh no, they're going to cancel! Thankfully, not. DH did say he would've taken the cast off with the new saw he got for Christmas, although he said he might be a little shaky first time he used it. Funny guy. I've got the boot for three weeks and then I should be walking fairly normally. :)

My granddaughter IS in school all day! I saw her just last weekend when we gathered for my son's birthday. The last several times I've seen her I've been a poopy drag with my butt parked. She loves grandpa and her uncle who do airplane with her and toss her around. :) I'm looking forward to nice weather and two functioning feet so that we can do some fun stuff like the zoo and children's museum. :)

Thanks for the reminder! :thumbsup2 I could've sworn it was the 12th :confused3 but you are correct!

One more thing. :) Did you hear about Casey Anthony starting a photography business? I bet Jodi Arias will be furious! It was HER plan to murder someone, be found not guilty, and become a photographer. ;) Not that Casey Anthony will have much success, I suspect. But you never know, in this day and age. As someone said in this article "Can you imagine hiring a photographer to take your precious baby's photos and she shows up?”

I'm totally hooked! And the actors in this are so good, perfect for their roles.

Damn it, I just told Jen yesterday to schedule a Dr's appointment (one she needs to be accompanied to for driver purposes) for next Monday. Hopefully I can watch it online, thanks for the reminder.

I hope your husband's pickles came out better than Aunt Bea's. :teeth:

Very interesting about the Ross Harris case, I'm gonna bet she'll be a prosecution witness since she won't be able to claim spousal privilege if they divorce regardless of what she thinks or knows.

I'm so glad to hear this surgery/recovery has been better than the last and I'd say you're very lucky to have such a caring husband since he was willing to step up in your time of need, thank goodness the doctor's office came through. :lmao: Best wishes for a continued good recovery, Spring is right around the corner, good time to catch up with that granddaughter! :goodvibes

And I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter's dog. You have to tell yourself you were meant to outlive your animals so you can care for them until the end, but it's still so sad.

Uh, no, absolutely not!

I saw the article about Anthony, Can you believe her gall?
There was a picture of her a couple weeks ago at her new boyfriends garage sale in West Palm Beach, she makes me want to hurl. She is the most hated woman in America and she has no idea. Everyone knows that ugly face.
She will be bankrupt in no time.

I didn't hear about this! I googled it and found this:

Could you imagine your son bringing Casey Anthony home as his girlfriend? And wondering what might come next, like pregnancy and a baby??

BTW UR, The Jinx IS on youTube. The sound isn't great and the picture takes up about two thirds of the screen. There's a cat holding popcorn on the other part. I think I might have to pass. lol

I watched for 50 seconds, mostly in awe that someone posted that. :scared:

So glad I have Netflix.
