Now I remember. Juan didn't warn them when he was going to put up autopsy photos. I wonder why he didn't. Maybe so the jury would see their raw reaction? :confused3

Juan is on Nancy Grace tonight. Oh, what a combo! I won't be able to watch tonight, but I'll record it. I think he's on another show tomorrow. If I find out, I'll post it.

Can't do Nancy Grace. absolutely CAN.NOT. You can fill us in :)

I got home in time for the majority of Dr Phil's show and didn't learn anything I didn't already know. I was hoping Juan would reveal something we didn't know.

And no, I can't do Nancy Grace, but I'll look for something tomorrow in print.

Awww, nothing new revealed by Juan? Now I am disappointed.

Nancy Grace ran her mouth through the whole interview, didn't let Juan get a word in. I wanted to punch her through the television.
I knew she would aggravate me if I watched.

That is exactly what I can't stand about that woman, my gawd, she never gives it a break. :faint:

She tells him she's going to fire through the emails she received because she received so many, she reads one email to him, then cuts him off mid answer and answers for him......UGH:crazy2: Never reads another email the entire interview.

Nancy Grace was very Nancy Grace-ish. :crazy2:
I wasn't overly impressed with the Dr Phil episode. I thought it was choppy...a few minutes talking to this guest, a few with that guest. Not enough Juan Martinez. Nothing really new to us. That rapper that supports Jodi didn't get much airtime, thankfully. I don't think he'll be selling more songs because of this appearance.

Glad I saw it, but I don't think you're missing too much if you miss it. Dr Phil was very supportive of Juan writing the book.

Oh, this was interesting. Travis's family wasn't 100% supportive of Juan. One thing was that they felt, during jury selection, that Juan should have stricken juror #17 (woman...the retrial), the one holdout. And I think there was one other thing they didn't agree with that he did or didn't do. ?

Apparently there was some backlash for Tanisha because of these comments from the show...people felt that she was ungrateful to Juan. Maybe on Dr Phil's FB page? But on the State vs Jodi Arias page, they put this comment out by her:

"I would like to clear up some misconceptions arising from the Dr. Phil show. I will be forever grateful to Juan Martinez for being our voice and fighting for justice. We will forever be friends and had a good laugh over my comments being misconstrued. Juan has graciously donated signed copies of his book to raise funds for my Ronald McDonald/Loma Linda walk in April. We are doing this together for the children in Travis’ name to carry on my brother’s legacy of helping others. Our family is very blessed to have Juan Martinez in our lives.

~ Tanisha Sorenson"

She then went on throughout the thread replying to people's comments, which were all positive (altho, I have to say, there was a time or two when someone asked "what's going on" and someone responded with what the comments were that Tanisha said on the show and Tanisha replied to the second person by defending herself to that person, who was only passing along the information, not agreeing with it, KWIM?). She said that it was a three hour taping and very edited. That they pushed her to give negatives about Juan, and she said there weren't any, but they pushed and pushed and she finally said those two things, which were taken out of context, and one of them, was only part of a sentence.

There was a time that I really liked Dr Phil. He had a no nonsense attitude that certain people in my family could've used. But as time has gone on, he's gotten all about manipulating his "guests", and the show, and turning shows into infomercials for his, Robin's and his son's products. I also noticed that more and more there would be guests saying "hey, I was told this or that by your producers, and that's not what's happening here" and Phil would parade out his twenty-something yr old producers who'd say "we never said that...". Ugh. No way in hell would I ever trust that man and his staff. Tanisha said a LOT of negative things, very strongly stated , about Phil and his staff and the direction the show took with her edited comments and that rap singer, who really had no place on that show. I think it really sucks that, with all this family went through, Dr Phil basically victimizes them again by taking away all their control and manipulating what Tanisha said, and turning it into what he and his producers think will sell. She saw this as an opportunity to speak out on behalf of her family, and he screwed them.

This is why I don't watch shows like that. They are only in it for the ratings. And for themselves. Sometimes it is worth it to say no to being on things like that.

I read earlier that Jodi got her priverlages taken away. She will never stop.

You are dead on with the Dr. Phil show, Mar. Even when they were playing the tape where she was talking about Juan, you could hear that it was broken up, the tone of her voice changed. KWIM?
There have been a few episode where the guest will tell him outright, he is changing the story, Ugh......he should retire with his millions.

I hate hate hate when he puts Robin on, I can't with her mouth full on DaVinci veneers that don't fit properly and when she talks she lisps and I think they may slip out.

I agree with you about Phil. I used to watch his show all the time. Can't stand it now. I tell people "I" could be Dr. Phil. Just sit up there and interrupt and say "you can change your life". Drives me nuts. I am glad to see Tanisha was able to speak up on the FB page. I feel so horrible for all this family has went through and then to add insult to injury on Dr. Phil, where she thought she would be able to speak on her family's behalf. wow. :badpc:

I agree Lorimay.

I hate it when Robin is on too, but then I rarely see it cause I don't want it anymore.
Reading Juan's book btw. Just started so not much to report.

I have the book too, can't wait to start reading it.

Since Dr. Phil's FB page was mentioned, I had to go look and some folks are pretty upset that Phil didn't really give anyone (Martinez or Tanisha) adequate time to express themselves or tell their stories and gave some time to the rapper who has absolutely nothing to do with this case. And why have Jane Velez Mitchell on there with so much time??

I don't mean this to be offensive to anyone who appears on Dr. Phil's, but he's a carnival barker.

I think Jane Valez Mitchell is a buddy of Dr. Phil's. I also think she's very animated which is what Dr. Phil and his producers think make for a good episode. And I think having that rapper on got people riled up and that's also what they want. It wasn't about the story to be told; it was about attempting to make good TV.

Somewhere along the way Dr. Phil got very caught up in his own fame. And at this point he's running out of topics to cover, and is always trying to top himself. And if he can't top himself with a new and interesting topic, he'll just create more drama around the same old same old. It seems like there's rarely a resolution or plan at the end of some of these topics he covers...that the episode was strictly about creating entertainment. And he is forever doing two-parters, dragging out drama. This episode about Travis and the murder case would have been, IMHO, a perfect topic for two episodes covering Juan (I thought the episode was supposed to be because his new book was coming out???), Tanisha, and other RELEVANT guests. How about Juan and Nurmi together?   J/K!

Years ago there was speculation that Robin and Phil were having marital problems. Not that I believe that just because it makes it into the tabloids that it's true. BUT here's my theory. To work things out, they decided to create importance for her and give her something to do. So "she" wrote a book about menopause, she got her name on skin care products, she's included in episodes about love and marriage and domestic abuse (exactly what are her credentials, besides being his wife?), he makes cutesy remarks about her and the cameras cut to her "animated" plastic-surgeried face, and Phil gushes over her, like they both gushed over their new daughter-in-law triplet who posed with her sisters touching each other in Playboy. "Now tell us what you really think Mare!" LOL
