The Everything and Nothing Thread

You not Jane - me not Tarzan.

Seriously, Hi Teri!

Joan (really)

Happy Mermaday to all, love that, it has a nice ring to it...

Janet--your daughters adorable and love that hair...I have stick straight hair, could never understand why the girls with curls wanted to straighten their hair....funny how that works.

Jane-- I am thinking of trying those bi focal contacts...never had to wear glasses until a few years ago for reading (I'm in my fifties...eeeeek) but it's gotten to the point that looking for my readers every time I want to see something is annoying.

Next picture day I am going to know how to post a picture...I always thought I couldn't post any till I reached that 1,000 post thingy..which was definitely not going to happen the way I was going. So this weekend I'm checking out photo bucket.

What is with the 1,000 post thing anyway?

I have since very early spring been watching a Great Horned Owl in my backyard...first it was one, hooting in the night....then while taking pics one day I noticed I had two different looking owls....then "bam" there was a baby and I have been watching and taking pics of them all spring and into the summer...but I thought they left my yard. Tonight the baby surprised me by sitting in my tree again. Never saw an owl in the wild till this year and then I get blessed by watching a baby one grow and learn. Wow.

Ok hope you all have a lovely Friday talk to you soon

Hi luv2sew! You must have been posting at the same time I was writing my confessional. ;)

The bifocal contacts work pretty well for me. It's kind of a balancing act trying to get the right powers for distance and near vision. The stronger the power for distance, the more you lose in near vision, if that makes sense. If we back off a little on the distance power, I get better near vision. But still, if I'm reading the paper or a book, I usually wear reading glasses with about a 2.00 power.

I don't know anything about a 1,000 post stipulation. That's the first I've heard of that. :confused3 I don't think I could ever reach that number!

That is so neat about the owls in your yard! I would love to be able to see that. I am reading a book called "Wesley the Owl" right now, about a barn owl raised by a girl from just a few weeks of age (a true story). I've only been reading it on the weekends we go to our camp, so I haven't finished it yet. But I've learned alot about owls! The owl in my book is so smart, it's like he's a pet dog. I know that she will have him for 19 years, but I don't know what happens to him. I'm kind of afraid of getting to that part of the book. :sad2: I hope when you post pictures, you can share some of the owls! :thumbsup2

Seriously, Hi Teri!

Joan (really)

:rotfl2: Thanks, Joan! I needed that!

Before, when I just posted occasionally, my screen name didn't bother me. But now, I was really beginning to feel like Jane. Seriously, this is a weird feeling not being Jane any more! Maybe I should have named myself Sybil!

Jane-

Wait. I don't know if I can handle you not being a Jane in my head anymore! I'll have to adjust to this Teri thing.

While we're on confessions... Autumn is part of my screen name but my real name is not actually Autumn either (but I think some of you knew that?). My real name is Meg.:goodvibes I kind of chose my screen name randomly as well, not really thinking that I would ever post.:confused3 Here I am with over 2,000 of them!:rotfl:

Pakey I think we all need to band together and send you to a spa for a week. Or a month! I will selflessly volunteer myself to accompany you.:thumbsup2:lmao:

Janet, your daughter's hair is gorgeous! I've always wanted curly hair.

I know I'm missing tons of people but I'm just wading through posts and trying to catch up. I'm way behind on everything. I have to get better at checking in through the day, things have just been crazy here- I've started working at the hospital every day and I have like 10 hour days now and I just get home, eat, work out, check my email and fall into bed. I've been sleeping well though so who can complain!:goodvibes

Okay, off to do some yoga, I'll be back!

I'm a little nervous about what Jo and Pakey are going to have to say about my new identity. I'm afraid it's going to be like one of those celebrity roasts! :rotfl2: It's OK, I'm ready. I've got pretty thick skin and I have it coming! popcorn::

OK. We have Wednesday picture day. Now we have Thursday, confession day.

Alright. My name isn't Focus. It's Sandee. I never thought I'd be posting on an internet site either. Let alone make friends. :goodvibes I lurked on the Dis since the late 90's. Never joined or posted til last year.

Hi Teri! :wave2: Now stop trying to confuse me. I'm old. I confuse easily. :rotfl2:

I do not need a spa day. Reading the Jane in PA story was so dang entertaining that I feel refreshed. I'm jealous I wasn't that clever.

Hi autumn.......I mean Meg! :wave2: Have I opened up a can of worms? The scary thing about this is that I'm having a hard time adjusting to not being Jane. :rotfl2: This only happened since the Ev-No thread started. I may have to go to rehab for identity crisis. :worried:

Did you watch SYTYCD tonight? I wasn't too surprised. The judges all but told Adechike good-bye last night. The only thing that might have saved him is if the public felt so bad for the way the judges dissed him that they voted in huge numbers just to make a statement.

:lmao: See, I knew it was coming! I have a feeling it's not over, either. ;)

I'd say that tonight the thread is more Everything than Nothing!

Wait until the morning shift logs in!

OK, I read about True Confession Thursday and the Jane/Tarzan story from my iphone but decided I had to get on my laptop to read the confessions. I'm loving the Wednesday and Thursday themes.

My real name isn't Pakey either. I already posted that it's Faith. My family nickname is Pakey (my little brother couldn't say Faith, he said Pake, and it became Pakey).

So since I had already told y'all that, my confession for today is that I'm terrified of lobsters. See tag. Yes, even spent a year in therapy for it when I lived on Cape Cod. Most people, if given the chance to change one thing in the world, would pick world peace, end of suffering, etc. I'd pick the end of lobsters.

And I have a picture of me using a blow dryer for the first time (with the big rollers in my hair). The picture was taken with a kodak instamatic that used those flashbulbs that could take 4 pictures, the bulb turned. Highly advanced at the time.

OK, T Bird, are you a pink lady now? :lmao:

The morning group is going to need a lot of caffiene to get through all of tonight's postings.

I'm thinking about making an excel spreadsheet to keep everything straight. I'm old; bad memory. By tomorrow, I'll think the T stands for Tarzan again.

What? Your name isn't Focus? :faint: Hi Sandee! Boy, just when we were all starting to learn who is who, now what?

I like your idea of Thursday Confession day. That could be very entertaining!

Yes, but if we save all the good stuff for Thursday, it will make for a boring week. ;)

I have laughed more tonight than I have in a long time! This is like Night at the Improv!

I have heard of fear of snakes, spiders, lizards, and other forms of wildlife, but Pakey, you are the first person I have met with a lobster phobia. I shouldn't make fun, because we don't choose what we are afraid of! I guess the weirdest thing I am afraid of is strange swimming pools. Especially at night. :scared1: It would take alot of money for me to jump into a strange pool at night. Even a pool I've been in, like at a country club. I could never go in by myself at night.

I remember those Kodak cameras with the turning bulb!! No wonder I can't master the digital camera and posting pics.

OK, I'm having a blonde moment. I don't get the last question about being a pink lady. I would just let it slide, but you may really be waiting for an answer! So please help me out here!

Teri, the pink ladies were the "property" of the T-Birds in both of the Grease movies. I do believe we discussed the Grease movies being on TV last weekend but this thread moves so fast it is almost like it was last year.

Save the World. Get Rid of Lobsters.

I think she means from Grease. Weren't the girls called the Pink Ladies? And the car "Greased Lightning" was a T-Bird?

Or maybe not. My DH is always taalking about cars. So that's what I thought of first.
