Hey everyone! :welcome:

After a few years of being an avid PTR & TR lurker, seldom poster, and free dining stalker I’ve decided I’d try my hand at my very own trip report! I’ll do my best to try and keep it entertaining, but at this point posts will probably be fairly staggered because, well...

In the mean time, let me introduce myself! I’m Tori, disney fanatic, neurotic type A planner, and for this trip, circus wrangler! :joker: The handsome fellow next to me is my husband Jeremy. Thankfully he is also a big WDW fan, so he makes me feel a little less crazy when it comes to my obsession.

See, the last two trips I’ve taken to Disney have been with just my husband, Jeremy. Planning a Disney trip for two adults is a piece of cake. Incorporating the wants and needs of two people on vacation is a very simple task.. Planning a Disney trip for 12 adults and one 2 y/o, not so much. Alas, I’m always up for a challenge! So lets start with our travel partners....
party:
Myself
Jeremy (Husband)
Livi (Sister)
Josh (Sister’s Boyfriend)
John (Brother)
Cortney (Sister-in-Law)
Wayne (Father-in-Law)
Penny (FiL Wife)
Mark (Brother-in-Law)
Amanda (BiL Wife)
Connor (Nephew)
and Amanda’s parents Brian & Cindy.
This is the list for now but it may lose or add some more along the way..
Our family is a little out of the ordinary, rambunctious, loud, amusing, and we definitely know how to have a good time! If you stick around you’ll find out what I’m talking about...:jumping1:
This trip, even with it still being so far away has been changed numerous times already. From when, with who, to where... over and over again. And I’m also pretty sure it’ll change some more before we can actually book it. Lets make another list...

1. 7 nights at a pool home off-property, 2 days at UOR, 5 days at Disney in November.
2. 7 nights at Coronado Springs, 2 days at UOR, 5 days at Disney in mid-November.
3. 2 nights at Cabana Bay, 8 nights at Pop Century, 3 days at UOR w/ Halloween Horror Nights, 7 days at Disney w/ MNSSHP AND MVMCP, last week of October into first week of November.

And finally what we’re settled on (for now)...

4. 10 nights at Caribbean Beach, 3 days at UOR w/ HHN, 7 days at Disney w/ MNSSHP, end of September into the first week of October.

Our most recent decision has been made based on our hopes for being in the best position to get free dining. Although we will go whether we get it or not, it definitely helps out tremendously if we can get it. We were bouncing back and forth between CSR and CBR for a while, and decided that mainly due to location and proximity to most of the parks that CBR would be our best bet. The fact that CBR was just recently refurbished really eased our decision as well.

Our loose plan (I use that term because things will probably change before then) is to fly out of Buffalo, NY early Thursday, September 29th, 2016 and use our first night to visit one of the Disney parks. The next three days we will be heading over to the dark side, and attending one night of HHN. The last 6 days will be split up with park hoppers at the 4 Disney parks, and the 2 Disney waterparks.

Side note, our last two trips my husband has refused to go to the water parks but I told him since were going to be there for longer this time (and its my sisters first trip ever to WDW) he really has no choice, and we will be going to the water parks whether he likes it or not :rotfl2:

Lastly, we will head home on Sunday, October 9th, 2016.

So thats all folks! I’ll check in with updates for our planning when new booking milestones, or changes in plans come about. Thanks for following along!

Ok, moving on...

I've started compiling two lists of restaurants I want to visit on our trip. One list is for places I think would make for a fun family dinner for everyone together, and a second list of places that the hubby and I are intersted in checking out on our own.

For the family:
'Ohana
Hoop Dee Doo Musical Revue
Biergarten
Raglan Road

For just us:
Boma
Chefs de France
Tutto Italia
Coral Reef
Cape May Cafe

We've done 'Ohana, HDDMR, and Coral Reef before, but the rest will be new to us. If ayone has any suggestions you think we should consider let me know! I'd definitely appreciate it. We're more than likely going to stick to dinners for TS credits, QS for lunch, and use snacks or pay OOP for breakfast.

Until next time! :hippie:

We're checking out Biergarten for the first time in June. From what I've heard, they seat 8 to a table. I'm not sure if they can go bigger (it sounds like your group is bigger), but that's something I'd look into, if you haven't already.

Chefs de France ::yes::
Tutto Italia ::yes::

I didn't know that about Biergarten! Thanks for the info. It'd probably defeat the purpose of a big family dinner if we got split up lol

So since I have no significant updates at this point, I'd figure I could post a little about myself and DH...

This is me. My name is Tori and I am 26 years old, and obsessed with all things Disney and Harry Potter. I love to be the center of attention. I tend to be loud and talkative, even if I'm not trying to be. If you knew my mother you'd understand :P We have two dogs, Freddy & Fiona, who I consider my fur children. Disney is my happy place, and I don't think that will ever change. I often get the question "Don't you want to go on vacation anywhere other than Disney?" Maybe... eventually... but right now, NO! :rotfl2: Here are a couple of my favorite things:

Favorite Park: Magic Kigdom, although Animal Kingdom is a close second
Favorite Ride: Haunted Mansion
Favorite Disney Movie: Beauty & the Beast
Favorite Character: Of all time, Belle. Currently, Flynn rider. Because, come on..

Favorite Disney Restaurant: 'Ohana
And since we will be spending some time in Universal on this trip..
Favorite Universal Studios Ride: Forbidden Journey

This is DH, better known as Jeremy! He is also 26 years old, but never lets me forget that he is younger than me. As you can see, he is a goof ball and if you follow along with my trip report you'll realize this behavior is an everyday thing for him :woohoo: I got lucky in the fact that he is pretty much just as in love with Disney and Harry Potter as I am :lovestruc Here are some of his favorites:

Favorite Park: Hollywood Studios, with MK as a close second
Favorite Ride: Toy Story Midway Mania
Favorite Disney Movie: Cool Runnings
Favorite Character: Lightening McQueen.. had to throw this little ditty in for your enjoyment...

Favorite Disney Restaurant: 'Ohana & Rainforest Cafe
Favorite Universal Ride: Forbidden Journey

Hope you enjoyed!! And because I'm curious, please play along! What are some of your favorites??

Favorite Park?
Favorite Ride?
Favorite Disney movie?
Favorite Disney Character?
Favorite Disney Restaurant?

Favorite Park? Magic Kingdom! It's grown on me over the last year.
Favorite Ride? Rock 'n' Rollercoaster. I've been on it 60 times since my 10th birthday, which was 12.5 years ago!
Favorite Disney movie? It literally changes every day, but the contenders in the running are The Little Mermaid, The Lion King, and The Emperor's New Groove
Favorite Disney Character? Mickey Mouse! I cry every time I see him.
Favorite Disney Restaurant? I don't think I have an absolute favorite, but lately I've been enjoying Casey's for the Kielbasa (Polish Sausage) sandwiches!

So excited to find someone who is equally anticipating their vacation! We leave in November of 2016 and already I'm excited and can't wait. Can't wait to read more about your planning.

:welcome: Thanks for reading! I'm guilty of starting my planning for my next vacation before I even leave from the last one lol I can't help it, if I'm not at Disney I'm dreaming of Disney:banana:

I understand completely! I love Disney, I took the kids to Disneyland 2 years ago but now they need to experience Florida. My daughter knows but I'm surprising my son.

I've never been to Disneyland, but its definitely on my list. I told DH I'd love to go and run in the Avengers 1/2 Marathon! Maybe if I ever get my butt in shape we'll take the cross-country trip :)

How exciting! I love seeing all of those videos of kids being suprised with trips to Disney. I'm sure he will be over the moon excited!

Happy Monday whoever is following along!! Hope you all had a wonderful weekend. :flower:

I just thought I’d add a quick update because I’m kind of freaking out about this years Free Dining situation.

I’ve been following along on all of the developments because I’m trying to put our family in the best place possible next year to be able to take advantage of the free dining. It definitely threw me for a loop when they dove right into a general public release instead of the Disney Visa card holder buffer. I went on and looked at dates similar to what ours will be next year and at 6:15am there was nothing but upgraded rooms available at the Mods… :scared1: I’m not against staying at Pop if we need to, I love Pop Century, but I was really looking forward to being able to stay at a Mod next year. I guess ill just have to cross my fingers and be online and ready to go on release day next year and hope for the best!! I guess if FD doesn’t work out for us, at least we can get a room discount of some sort.

So anyway, I recently picked up a second job to help out with finances, and make getting to Disney a little easier on the wallet. With my new job slingin' Froyo, I get tips. I decided that any hard cash I make will be going right into our vacation fund. I’d been keeping it in a big plastic animal cracker container, and this weekend I decided to get a little creative.

I know, I know, I’m definitely not the craftiest person, but its better than the animal cracker label:rotfl2:

Until next time!:cool1:

Love

I'm joining in Tori. Nice to meet you. And that is one BIG group you are planning for. But you are young and I have faith in you.

I have never stayed at Caribbean Beach (although I've stayed at Coronado ten times...and it's only 10 minutes to the MK), but I have a friend who has stayed there more times than I've stayed at Coronado and she loves it.

We have a lot of the same favorites: Magic Kingdom followed by Animal Kingdom (AK does NOT get enough love); Beauty and the Beast is my favorite movie too.

As for restaurants, we've never done HDDR or Tutto Italia. I tried Via Napoli for the first time two weeks ago (spoiler alert: LOVED it). We were not fans of Hana and Biergarten was a huge disappointment the last time for us. We love Raglan Road, Chefs de France and we always have a good meal at Coral Reef. Cape May we only will do breakfast. I would suggest one character meal for the child and would pick early entry into the Magic Kingdom at Crystal Palace...by far my favorite character meal. We also really LOVE Liberty Tree Tavern for lunch, Rose & Crown for lunch or dinner and Kona for breakfast and dinner...Kona is a must do breakfast every trip for us. We also love the Plaza.

Favorite Park? Magic Kingdom
Favorite Ride? Tower of Terror
Favorite Disney movie? Beauty & The Beast
Favorite Disney Character? Tigger
Favorite Disney Restaurant? Breakfast--Character Meal -- Crystal Palace; Breakfast--Non-Character -- Kona; lunch -- Liberty Tree Tavern; dinner -- Yachtsman Steakhouse

Hi Tori! :wave2: I'm Rebecca, and just realized I forgot to say hello.
We're more than likely going to stick to dinners for TS credits, QS for lunch, and use snacks or pay OOP for breakfast.
We do the same. QS for all but maybe 1 lunch and we don't eat a lot for breakfast. We love a TS at night though. :)
As you can see, he is a goof ball and if you follow along with my trip report you'll realize this behavior is an everyday thing for him
That picture was hilarious and he seems to have good spirit.
