After many years of begging I finally talked my DH into a Disney vacation!!! Actually I think my DD5princess: was the one to seal the deal! He can't say no to her. I've been trying to get him to go since our DS16 was about 5, but I kept having little ones and he didn't want to take toddlers to the parks.
So, he's finally said Yes, but that's all he's said. I've been doing extensive research:surfweb: on this board, and read an official and unofficial book. He thinks that I'm going overboard. Can someone please tell him that you don't just show up at Disney the 1st week of April with no ADR's, game plan, or anything. He thinks that we can call one week before we leave, make RESORT reservations, and go and be happy! He may be happy, but he'll also be hungry!!!:sad2: So, I went ahead and put down the deposit on our package, made ADR's, and planned which days to go where. I still have lots to do, but atleast we have a place to stay and places to eat!:thumbsup2
I know that Spring Break isn't the optimal time to go, but with a Junior in High School we can't afford to miss that much school. We'll be there for 8 days, so we will make the best of it, as far as the crowds go. I'm a little concerned that my DS16 will be a little bored with the whole Disney experience. He much more into fishing than theme parks. I am going to suprise;) him with a chartered fishing trip one morning. It's the least I can do after asking him the sit thru the Princess Lunch for our DD5princess: .
Our other 2 DS's 9 & 11 are pretty excited. DS9 can't wait to fly for the 1st time, while DS11 is only interested in getting a limo from MCO to FW. I know that they are going to have a blast when they get there with all the cool rides.
If anyone has any other suggestions to keep my DS16 happy I'd love to hear them. I'd thought about bringing a friend, but we are staying in the FW cabins and have 6 in our family.
Thanks for all of the wonderful post/advise on this messageboard. It's way more helpful that the books!!!:cloud9:

My dad is the same way, he likes to plan things RIGHT before the trip but that just doesn't work at WDW!

What resort are you staying at? Also, I think the chartered fishing trip is such a great surprise for your DS! I still think he will enjoy the magic of Disney though. :)

We are staying at Fort Wilderness in the cabins. I'm going to try to schedule BB boutique for the DD5princess: while the guys go fishing. I'm so excited!!!:woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

cool:thumbsup2 glad he said yes!!! gotta keep us updated
