but I have worn glasses since I was 8 - they are pretty easy to adjust too and she will be very happy to be able to see again

was this the first time you ever had her checked? if it has deteriorated slowly she may not have realized it wasn't normal - I have acid reflux disease and was not diagnosed until right before I got pregnant with nick - when i was in the test - the reflux happened - I thought nothing of it and the doctor said to me - did you feel that and I said yep - he said that is acid reflux - it had been happening to me my whole life - why would I have thought it wasn't normal

My BIL is an opthamologist - maybe nancy will pop on later and you can ask her some questions - I don't know why being married to an eye doctor makes her an expert but I do tend to call her when eye things happen - she usually knows the answer or will ask her DH

I was the same way with migaines. I was officially diagnosed when I was 22yo when they got so bad that I was knocked on my *** for several hours everyday for a few weeks. The doctor asked how long I had had these headaches and my answer was since at least 8yo and probably before, but I can't remember. I just thought people got headaches regularly. My mom, sister and I did so it seemed normal.

Yep! He is coming home, guess I should be a little more productive now!!!

What more could he want? The kids are finished with homework, fed, noone needs a bath (well, noone who can't handle it on thier own) and well there is that little matter of half put away Christmas decorations and the neverending pile of ...here we go all together now...LAUNDRY!

Wish I could and it would disappear!

Well, that's better than zero put away Christmas decorations. I am wondering how long I can leave ours up before Phil says something.

Hey, I've got my own posting party I guess! It took me so long to catch up and post that everyone is gone now. You never realize how much you depend on the backspace key until it's gone. I think I am making more typos just from the stress of knowing that it will take a few extra buttons to fix a mistype. Then, I have our IT guy look at it today for that, another broken key, a down CD-ROM and end up with the news my laptop will be sent in tomorrow for repair and be gone for a week. He can "maybe" build me a replacement computer today if he had time, but it won't be a laptop. So exactly how am I supposed to work from home half of the day without a laptop. Oh well, guess I'll have an easy week next week.

Although I'm not a regular poster, I've been following this thread for a couple of months now. This place is great and I'm glad you're going to keep it up. Thanks, Kate! Ours will probably come down this weekend too, but then Terra also keeps talking about going to Chuck E Cheese and to see Clifford (Boston Children's Museum) so who knows what will really happen. I'm just afraid that Clifford won't be there anymore since I've gotten two postcards this week about new exhibits coming in.

Hey if I could look like her, we'd be good to go!! Terra actually said that was me in the pictures with her yesterday. I'm not sure if I was Auora or Jasmine, but I'll take either one.

Of course I'll be able to DIS. I can definitely work that out! Actually, I have a laptop at home too, but can't log in to work through it. I can however DIS with it so maybe I'll actually be able to keep up with you guys next week.

KELLI - Great picture of your girls. Were those the anti-stain sweatshirts from Wal-Mart? That is what I used for the bus drivers Christmas present, and I hope the transfer holds up and doesn't peel off. Good luck on deciding about the DVC. We love it. I just wish I could get DH to go more often. SW airlines had a deal for $108/ r/t last week and DH wouldn't go. Darn him.

What?!? I got a milestone and I wasn't even expecting it! I never thought I'd get a milestone. Oh my goodness, this is almost as exciting as the day I was tagged by the TF.

She's in 1st grade now...passed the kdg eye exam last year...but failed it this year. So yes, this is her first professional check up. Doc was talking about "lazy eye" and near sightedness and a couple of other issues. He is not a pediatric opthamologist...so this will be my next stop when I find one.

One of my kids might have lazy eye. We're having to wait a month to get in to the opthamologist we were referred to. Not sure if it's a pediatric one? All I know is the nurse said it would be too late to fix it (if it were lazy eye). At 6? I'm hoping the nurse is mistaken.

Do any of your little ones wear glasses? My youngest failed the eye school exam..took her today for follow up...she has terrible vision in her right eye. She couldn't see the biggest letter on the eye chart..have to see a specialist and sorta freaking out.

Nothing to freak out about. My DD got glasses when she was 5. They look darling on her, but she's terrible about taking them off at school and leaving them there. I threaten to staple them to her head, but she knows it's an empty threat. DS is probably going to need them, as well. With the twins, I just don't know yet, but with the genes they inherited, probably.

I just found out my daughter got diagnosed with some new problem. Something called Dystonia, which I get to learn about now. Not quite sure what it's all about.
