She is a type one diabetic and they have receintly released a drug called Symalin which helps her cut back on her insulin intake, thus caleries. It also curbs her appetite and she doesn't eat as much. It's a wonderfull drug for those that are fighting bad blood sugars as it helps regulate, but has many added bonus's, like the weight loss.

She tried to get me in a "Fat" Study, but I failed. They said I was too healthy and just needed to work out. Yea Whatever!

Sorry to hear she is a diabetic but yeah for the weight loss. Tell her congradulations. Now if only I could do as well.

So funny, and sooooo true! :rotfl: :rotfl:

Fed Ex has just delivered my DVC promo package. I'm heading up to watch the DVD so I can get my Disney fix. :sunny: Then I'll review the booklet that came with it. Woo hoo!    I'm a step closer to being a DVC member. My husband has also been talking about it and once that happens, it is only a matter of time. Maybe if I promise to buy him a snowmobile, it'll happen faster! :-)

Beth -

I just went over to check this out -

some idiot with 4 posts made up a lie about seeing the billboard unwrapped

and that it made this annoucment

but someone who lives there and is a regulaar poster - just confirmed that the billboard is still wrapped

stupid trolls!

Sorry for the misinformation. I have never visited the DVC board before, and I didn't read the whole thread.

Let us know what it is when you find out! (My curiosity is piqued even though I know that I'll never own DVC).

How about them Texas Longhorns? What a GAME!

It looks like it was a good game! I made the mistake of calling my sister during it (oops!) and didn't even get a hello. Instead it was "I can't talk to you know. My team is playing in the national championship so I'll have to call you tomorrow. Hope it's not an emergency." (And no, that wasn't the answering machine - it was actually her :rotfl: )

Kristine, My DH is an Ophthalmologist. He would recommend with children that you see and Ophthalmologist with peds speciality. My youngest DD has lots of shall we say "issues". Anyway I take her to a Pediatric Ophthalmogist each year fo an exam. It should be covered by your health insurance.
Good Luck! Don't wait, many things can be taken care of but the longer you wait the more difficult it can become. :wizard:

well J & N are too little for this

but I have worn glasses since I was 8 - they are pretty easy to adjust too and she will be very happy to be able to see again

was this the first time you ever had her checked? if it has deteriorated slowly she may not have realized it wasn't normal - I have acid reflux disease and was not diagnosed until right before I got pregnant with nick - when i was in the test - the reflux happened - I thought nothing of it and the doctor said to me - did you feel that and I said yep - he said that is acid reflux - it had been happening to me my whole life - why would I have thought it wasn't normal

My BIL is an opthamologist - maybe nancy will pop on later and you can ask her some questions - I don't know why being married to an eye doctor makes her an expert :rotfl: but I do tend to call her when eye things happen - she usually knows the answer or will ask her DH

She's in 1st grade now...passed the kdg eye exam last year...but failed it this year. So yes, this is her first professional check up. Doc was talking about "lazy eye" and near sightedness and a couple of other issues. He is not a pediatric opthamologist...so this will be my next stop when I find one.

Here are some Christmas sweatshirts I made for myself, my DSis and my DMom

I used the dark transfer paper from Ebay on sweatshirts I got from AC Moore.

I could have probably used light transfer paper, but had the dark left so I went ahead and used it.

The shirts have washed nicely.

WOW! Those look great!! Can I ask who designed it? I haven't been around in some time so I don't recognize the design.

KristineN....Erich has worn glasses for a couple years now,he's 12.They caught it in an eye exam at school.I use to yell at him all the time about sitting too close to the TV but the eye doc told me he couldn't see any further than the end of his arm!!! I felt soooo bad.:guilty: I asked the teachers if they ever noticed him having a hard time reading the board, but they said no,they let the kids come up to the board if the need to read and copy things anyway. :confused3 Anyway the first year he broke a pair but he's much better keeping his glasses safe and like someone said he's so happy to be able to see far away now!!! :flower:

Mac...it's nice to see you back on the boards and actually "see" you and your family.Great picture.

ellenbenny...love your sweatshirts...they look GREAT!

PSA to ALL...make sure you clean out your PM boxes every now and then!!!

Yes, I wish I would have taken her to a pediatric opthamologist up front. I guess I wasn't thinking and just assumed a regular opthomoligist could handle it. He felt treatment may include patching and or drops in the eye but that a pediatric doc needs to handle it.

GO to this thread, In the top left corner is says "find an Eye M.D." Click on that. I found 15 in "CHicago". My recommendation is to ask around though. Start with your pediatrician and friends. If you need help, pm me. Dh did residency with a guy from Chicago. I can make some calls to him for recommendations. Good Luck. Those do not sound like terrible issues. The eye is so resilient!

Thought y'all might get a kick out of this...

Goooooooooooooooood Morning DDA

Its a great BIG BEAUTIFUL tommorrow...
come on everyone sing along

Shining at the end of everyday....

And that's what it is approaching by the time that I make it back. I just had to add in since that is one of Terra's favorite songs. We have to watch the DVD about once a week and she can be heard singing it from time to time. She was even "playing" it for me on her keyboard the other day.

My PM box never needs a cleaning. Wish I could say the same about my house. :rotfl:
