I wish we would get a sunny day! One of my co-workers gave me a lady bug stepping stone (I have a thing for lady bugs) that is supposed to glow in the dark. However, it has to be charged by the sun first. We haven't had any sun, and I want to see it glow!!

It is. I have to confess,though, I have another reason for wanting to see it glow - I want to see my cats' eyes pop out of their heads when they see it out the window! You know how cats' eyes get when they see something strange.

You know, that anti-fanny pack "lady" is really getting to me. No self-esteem???? I'd like to tell her that when my husband died way before his time he left very little life insurance, and we had a lot of bills, including a mortgage that I couldn't pay on my own. I had to go bankrupt and start from scratch. I now own my own home - it's a mobile home, so I suppose she'd call me "trailer trash." However, it's got three bedrooms, two full baths, was brand new when I bought it 3-1/2 years go, and it is PAID FOR. I didn't work until my son was 16. I started out as a temp and worked my way up to legal secretary. I took the civil service test and came out number 1 in my county. I ended up as secretary to two different New York State Supreme Court Justices until their respective retirements. I am now a legal assistant in the commercial litigation department of one of the oldest and largest and most respected law firms in the Hudson Valley. I have two wonderful children and three grandchildren. I pay my bills, travel and enjoy my life. Do you think I lack self-esteem because I wear a fanny pack at Disney World? I have never heard anything so absurd. I think perhaps it's the other way around - SHE lacks self esteem and needs material things to make her feel good about herself. I really felt like posting all of this on that thread, but I think it's better to let that one die away. Thanks for letting me vent here.

I shop @ the Goodwill & garage sales.
My high class clothes are Target & K-Mart (not on-sale).
Designer stuff I don't understand.
I wear my fanny pack with pride.
A H*** of a lot better than leaving a bag somewhere.
Some people are just into themselves & material things.

You know, Jennifer, I never thought about it having anything to do with red hair, but I woke up at the end of one of my surgeries (they were down to bandaging) and told them I didn't want to be awake, so please put me back to sleep. Could be the red hair/anesthesia thing. This was way back in 1966, so I doubt that any connections had been made then, so they wouldn't have given me "extra". It could also have something to with the fact that I've always felt that my skin is extra delicate - my mother used to call me "miss touch me not" - but honestly, it really hurts just have my blood pressure taken. Curious, huh?

UGH!!! I am so frustrated. I have tried for an hour to make cookies for Emma's class tomorrow and they will not work! I am using Amy's recipe and I think that it is just too humid. Made them 2 months ago and had no problem. No matter what I try they aren't working! Her class is having a teddy bear picnic and I wanted to make teddy bears, hearts and little boys and girls. She is going to be so disappointed!

I just noticed that Marti posted on that fanny pack thread on Sunday (before the Coach bag lady). She hasn't posted here in ages. What's up with that? I don't remember seeing anything on here that would offend her, or did I miss something?

Robyn, that's a shame! Did you keep the dough very chilled and only do small batches at a time? Did you try adding a bit more flour and then rolling with confectioner's sugar instead of flour? I know these suggestions are probably too late.

Robyn when I tried to make them I couldnt get the dough out of the bag it was so sticky and it had been in the fridge for about 25 hrs.
I tried mine at christmas time.

I noticed she has posted on other threads on the creative design board. she has not posted here since right before she left on the may 18th trip.

As far as I know no one offended her.

Thank you all for the wishes for tomorrow! My knee is currently KILLING me so I am so ready for surgery!! I am worried about how it will hold out at the festival this weekend!

I can't get the song "Strang things are happening to me" out of my head - why?!? Because this week I have watched the exact scene from toy story playing out in my house - remember how Buzz slowly replaced all the woody stuff in Andy's room - it is very ironic that Cars is slowly replacing Buzz!! It hit me like a ton of bricks tonight when I replaced his Buzz sheets with Cars sheets! When I brought them home Steve's exact comment to me was - "this is just like what happened to woody!!!"
