The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 4

After all the Airwalk/Croc talk yesterday, I had to go to Payless and try some out. I bought the black ones for work and the multicolor ones for fun. They were surprising comfortable and the arches were a welcomed relief for my feet. I went to several stores and tried on various styles of the Crocs brand, but I actually found the Payless version more comfortable. My oldest DS as got a pair of black ones. Middle DS said they were too ugly for him to be seen wearing them :groom: I think he's starting to care how he looks.

The T-shirts that I made yesterday got lots of compliments at the bowling tournament today. They are in the was now so we can wear them again tomorrow. :lmao:

Well, I'm open for any cute, easy, and original ideas!

One time my kids were each a different colored crayon...and I was the crayon box! It was really cute.

Deb, how did the guys do in the tournament?

They did ok. They bowled a bit below their averages on the first games, but came back strong for there 2nd and 3rd games. We are back at it at 11 am tomorrow. We won't actually hear any results until next October or November when the league starts up again. Last year they each won a metal and several plaques. They were very excited. I'm not as hopeful this year as they are both changing their styles and learning how to add a hook to the ball. I'm calling this a building year.

I can't keep my eyes open any longer so I'm off to bed. I hope to catch up in the morning.

 Hi Lindsay! I'm working on my DVC comparison & benefits information right now. The spreadsheet you sent has been very helpful.

I was teasing my DH earlier and told him the Dec. flight was only $218 a piece. He was shocked it was so low. I asked him if I could purchase it now. He kind of laughed and then said "Get the bills paid and ..." He never finished his sentence. I know that just means I just have to show him we can afford it and I know that we can. I sooooo want DVC. I love Disney and want to return. I know that we can afford it and it only makes sense as much as I'd like to go a couple of times a year. I want to do the MVMCP this year and the MNSSHP next year after listening to all of you talk about it. I also want to do the Wine & Food festival, the half marathon and maybe the full marathon if I can get in shape. So many things to do and see at Disney. By the time, I've done & seen it all once, they'll make additions and changes and we'll have to start all over.

I find myself stopping to consider everytime I want to buy something new or eat out. I am always thinking "Could this money be better spent on my DVC membership?" Most of the time, the answer has been yes.

My DH really wants to do some of the extra things - like the Richard Petty experience you guys were talking about earlier, a fishing excursion, a horse carriage ride, etc. It is so cool that we can do this all from one place.

For those of you that have been before, about how much is it for tickets for MVMCP and MNSSHP? The prices out on the site yet. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Hey everyone!!

I just got home about 15 minutes ago -

the birthday bash was a blast!!

It should come as no surprise that Amy and Kevin went all out - they had pictures of Alyssa and JoJo and Goliath blown up and all over the room - adorable games - fabulous prized and treat bags - although I never found my AP ;)

The food was great - but the deserts were amazing - plenty of Amy's famous cookies - I was going to snag a few but the clean up process started before I could my hands on them (sorry Marti!!) cupcakes and the most adorable cake -

Amy baked 3 round cakes and iced them and then had JoJo's circus set up on them as a 3 ring circus - it was adorable and delicious!!

Alyssa was adorable and seemed to have a great time - all the kids had a great time - and there were a lot of them!!

I think I would be too embarrassed to invite Amy to my kids birthday party now!! ;) They are lucky if their cake is the same theme as the napkins and plates!! :lmao:

It sounded like they were going all out. Just to have 60 people would require lots of planning. After seeing her cookies for Christmas, I figured that the birthday would be amazing. That's one lucky little girl.

Kevin & Amy, we want to see pictures when you recover from the party!

So I broached the topic with DH this morning - and as suspected he is only against it b/c he is out of vacation time -

I was talking about the cost and he said - this has nothing to do with money - I just don't have the vacation time - and I really can't argue with that

so I said - what if just the kids and I go :teeth: and he said - you are already going once without me this year - you can't go twice - again - how can I argue with that!!

I really can't harass him when we already own DVC!!
Brian is actually considering it :faint: . He brought it up to me this morning.

I finally got to meet Julie tonight -

Carli and Julia became fast friends - as a matter of fact - Julia begged all the way home to see Carli again tomorrow! and if Carli had her way Julia would be at their house tonight!!

Kyle is the sweetest little boy you would ever want to meet and very entertaining - he sang and danced and played piano for us - he wants to do a Kyle live performance to make money to go to WDW and I am telling you all - if you need entertainment for a party - I would seriously consider hiring him!!!! On top of that - he won my heart over when he could list the location of every WD theme park around the world!! Nothing better than a man who knows his Disney!!!

Julie and Dave were a lot of fun and as a matter of fact - when the party was over we all decided to go watch the basketball game together - please don't ask me who won - oh wait - I do remember b/c I knew that Dawn would be disappointed but who did LSU play? How sad that I now reference my life by who in the DDA would be affected by the event I am watching!!!

We had a great time and Julie is a perfect DDA fit!! In fact, I spent a good portion of the evening trying to help her convince Dave that she should go on the DDA trip. Julie, I think you might be able to "charm" him into it!!!

We missed you Amy and are looking forward to a night when we can all hang out -

and Amy and I never came up with a plausible way that we met - :rotfl:

I am exhausted and realized on the way home the we have to spring forward tonight and I have to work the nursery in the morning - I hope everyone forgets to change their clocks and there are no kids in the nursery!! :teeth:

One year we were camping for DS's birthday, and I had planned to buy a cake. Well I couldn't even find cupcakes, so I ended up stacking donuts in a pyramid and sticking birthday candles in them. Oh well, the kids had fun and I never heard any complaints.

:rotfl: That's cute! I bet they really liked that! My kids have always wanted me to get a krispy kreme donut cake for them...

I've done it and it is soooo fun! They start stopped, floor it, then take you around the track for three laps. It was definitely worth the money.
Maybe I'll get to do it in February!
