I'd like to do the ride along so I can go faaaaaassssssstttttt! That guy was flying the day Brian drove.

I've done it and it is soooo fun! They start stopped, floor it, then take you around the track for three laps. It was definitely worth the money.

Yes, I think that's what the plan has become.

I've never heard of this. It sounds interesting and I'd love the recipe if anyone has it. Of course, I don't think I would make quite that many.:teeth:

Will get it from my mom tomorrow. There is no way that, say in 20 years, I will be making 300 for anyone. My grandmother would make them so big you would have to cut each egg in about 6 or so pieces and eat a little here and there. Ours now are much smaller, maybe that is why we get so many more.

Well DH does it all the time and he's still here!!

It is actually very dangerous to put gas in a car while it is running or to talk on a cell phone. My dad is an Exxon distributor and owns stations and it has happened several times to customers. When you consider how many people do these things and it only happens a few times, it does seem very remote....but I wouldn't want to be that person that is the statistic.........

I know it's late in the day, but I've been out of the house since 7:45 and am just now on-line....

party: party: Happy Anniversary Denise and John!!! party: party:

Amy -- hope Alyssa's party went well. Get some well deserved rest! :sunny: :sunny:

I agree - better safe than sorry.

Congrats on the trip, and I hope the letter helps in getting the school to excuse their absence.

I'm not a parent, but DH and I did the 2nd night of the MNSSHP last year for the first time. IMO, you'd likely want to avoid the parade all-together, or at least some select parts. I'll have to go back through my pictures to refresh my memory, but I would think the Villians float, the skeleton band, and the dancing HM gravediggers would probably scare him, just off hand. There are some sweet parts at the beginning and then again at the end that I wouldn't think would be scary for him. I'll try to post some pics later, or you can pm me your e-mail, and I'll send them that way.

If memory serves, he doesn't like fireworks, right? I would say that those might also be a bit over-the-top for him - the intensity of the fireworks is more, and then there's the scary music to boot.

As far as all of the other stuff goes, I didn't remember anything else "scary", except the CMs at the HM had their faces painted ghoulishly. I don't remember seeing any guests dressed scarily.

HTH - it's a totally different experience than Xmas, but also fun!

My tip would be to make awesome costumes for the whole family and get selected to be in the parade. It was a once in a lifetime experience and there was nothing scary about riding in it :teeth: . We watched it from in front of the barber shop and we didn't find it too scary. There were people walking around the park in scarier costumes.

So, Deb, are you volunteering to come up with a theme and then make the costumes since I don't sew at all? :thumbsup2

How about Alice in Wonderland?

BK can be Alice... Davis & Rees could be Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
You and John could be the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts! :thumbsup2

Me too. I left the house at 7:45 this am and got home at 9:30 pm. I had 10 pages to read before I felt comfortable posting too much. I never know what has been said until I've read all the way through.

Happy Birthday Alyssa.
Happy Anniversary Denise and John.

I hope everyone had a wonderful day.

I'd definately consider that. I am already think up ideas. I know Tammi was thinking of a Mary Poppins Theme for her family, but I haven't heard how that is working out. Let me Think, Think, Think.

Haven't I seen the boys in Peter Pan and Captain Hook costumes? Does BK have a tinkerbell costume? You could go as the Fairy Godmother and John could go as Mr. Smee. I bet Mr. Smee could be done using basic clothes so he might not object as much. What do you think? If you don't have a Peter Pan costume I've made one before using a Kids size large turtle neck with a bunch of well place cuts and some green leggings it pulls together quite easily. I'd be happy to make a fairy godmother costume, but I would suggest we come up with a short sleeved version as it will be hot.

Yes, we own Peter Pan, Captain Hook, Tink, all the Princesses, and 2 Prince Charming Costumes. What about me as Wendy? Wonder if I could fit in Amy's costume that she had for last year?

There were quite a few Peter Pans and Wendy's last year. I think Pirate/Pirates of the Caribbean was the most used though. Wendy would work, Or an indian, or a mermaid. There are so many options.

My favorite way to create costumes is to visit the local Salvation Army and the 2nd hand shops. It is amazing what you can find that can be easily transformed into costumes for very little money. Often I can buy items that are ready made for a lot cheaper than I can make them. :thumbsup2
