I tried all the "charm" I could possibly think of (short of standing on my head)-let's not go there :rotfl: still no luck. So now my new fantasy is that I hit a decent jackpot on a slot machine during our vegas trip...a girl can hope!!!

I wouldn't mind trying the richard petty thing...bill on the other hand got scared on big thunder railroad!!

I think I would be too embarrassed to invite Amy to my kids birthday party now!! ;) They are lucky if their cake is the same theme as the napkins and plates!! :lmao:
With your attention to detail and creativity, I find this hard to believe :goodvibes

I finally got to meet Julie tonight -

Carli and Julia became fast friends - as a matter of fact - Julia begged all the way home to see Carli again tomorrow! and if Carli had her way Julia would be at their house tonight!!

Kyle is the sweetest little boy you would ever want to meet and very entertaining - he sang and danced and played piano for us - he wants to do a Kyle live performance to make money to go to WDW and I am telling you all - if you need entertainment for a party - I would seriously consider hiring him!!!! On top of that - he won my heart over when he could list the location of every WD theme park around the world!! Nothing better than a man who knows his Disney!!!

Julie and Dave were a lot of fun and as a matter of fact - when the party was over we all decided to go watch the basketball game together - please don't ask me who won - oh wait - I do remember b/c I knew that Dawn would be disappointed but who did LSU play? How sad that I now reference my life by who in the DDA would be affected by the event I am watching!!!

We had a great time and Julie is a perfect DDA fit!! In fact, I spent a good portion of the evening trying to help her convince Dave that she should go on the DDA trip. Julie, I think you might be able to "charm" him into it!!!

We missed you Amy and are looking forward to a night when we can all hang out -

and Amy and I never came up with a plausible way that we met - :rotfl:

I am exhausted and realized on the way home the we have to spring forward tonight and I have to work the nursery in the morning - I hope everyone forgets to change their clocks and there are no kids in the nursery!! :teeth:
UCLA. I don't know what happened to them tonight. It was awful :(

I'm glad you had fun and the party was a success!

One year we were camping for DS's birthday, and I had planned to buy a cake. Well I couldn't even find cupcakes, so I ended up stacking donuts in a pyramid and sticking birthday candles in them. Oh well, the kids had fun and I never heard any complaints.
Every year we get a donut for Christopher to share at school. They bake it in the shape of their age. The kids like it way better than cake.

I spoke with Rees specialist today who is very well known in Atlanta. She said she'd be happy to write a letter "excusing" the kids from school to go on the trip and cite all of Rees' issues, why low crowds are necessary, and treat it like a MAW trip (BTW, which he actually qualifies for but we turned down so a more needy family could go).

So, it looks like we're going in September. concierge is putting all my ADR requests in tomorrow. I'm psyched!
 That's great news- you're all gonna have a blast!

We're gonna have to try a September or December trip one year as I really want to do the parties :goodvibes

Clare - the HP sauce is wonderful and I love the plastic bottle. SO much easier. The bottles in America are still glass. And the Curley Wurleys are GONE! That didn't take long.
:lmao: I didn't think that would take very long :lmao:

Glad you enjoyed them :goodvibes

Well, I'm open for any cute, easy, and original ideas!

There's always Donald Daisy and Huey Duey and Louie... not sure how easy that would be though!

Cinderella, prince charming and three mice?

Didn't Amy and Kevin do 101 dalmations? that was cute...

hmm will go away and think... wouldn't it be great if you got picked for the parade!

I'd definately consider that. I am already think up ideas. I know Tammi was thinking of a Mary Poppins Theme for her family, but I haven't heard how that is working out. Let me Think, Think, Think.

Deb
I've been checking thrift shops but so far, nothing.

I also had considered the Alice theme. Myself and dh as Tweedledee/dum and Alyssa as Alice and Nicholas as Madhatter.

NO! Then I would be the only DDAer in Fredericksburg :confused3

Which Payless stores did you try, Tammi? I have three pair of crocs, but would love to try out the knock-offs! We are headed to Richmond next weekend and I can look there if you have scouted out all the local stores...

ETA: This was my 1200th post!

On the whole baby nursey issue here is what we do at my hospital. Rember I work this area.
If mom has a c-section for the first 24 hours we prefer that somebody else be in the room with mom. i.e. family member. if that is not an option then we take baby in for feeds and then back to the nursey.
for regular deliveries and c-sections that our over 24 hrs. we encourage moms to keep babies in the room with them. with the exception of when mom showers or to see the pedi. but if mom is completely exhausted and asks we take the baby to the nursery. We take care of 4 moms and 4 babies at one time per each nurse. their is somebody assigned to the nursery so if babies need to go in their they can.

That's what our hospitals do (some at least) as well. But just C-sections, otherwise they REALLY push for rooming in!

That would be great! We are getting CM for around 11am on Sat, Sept 30. I'd love to meet you both!

Hmmm.....I will definitely be trying! Hopefully, we can get a flight our late enough on Friday that I can still work at least part of the day and then have Phil meet me at the airport with Terra. Let me know what your final ADR time is and I'll book one too, but only if you really don't mind us being nearby. I don't want to intrude on your last Disney morning!

He didn't go to bed until 5:30 am. I'm so tired, and I totally have his cold. BK had a pottery painting b'day party today which was fun. It is so nice getting to spend time with them one on one.

Lucky for me, Terra usually doesn't last past 1am or 2am. Of course, starting in the near future, I may be getting up for work by 5am myself so that could get worse for me. I hope that last night was better and that you are both feeling better! How fun at the party. Terra and I almost did that yesterday, but ran out of time.

For those that have booked more than one reservation with air, or have said that they were able to cancel the air portion, I got the following from the WDW website regarding cancellation. I really want to go ahead and reserve a package with air for fall using the new code with dining, but I want to make sure I can cancel without paying for the airfare. What does this statement mean.... Is airfare ticketed when you reserve, or not until final payment?? How would I know if I had nonrefundable airfare? Hope this makes sense to someone.

"In addition: If your air travel has been ticketed, there will be an additional cancellation or change fee per ticket equal to the cancellation or change fee assessed by the airline. Please note that (x) cancellation of a nonrefundable airfare results in a charge equal to the entire amount of the airfare and (y) cancellation of a refundable airfare must be made at least 1 business day prior to departure. "

When we made our reservation, it said whether it was non-refundable on each of the available flight itineraries.... hope that helps! :confused3
