How about Alice in Wonderland?

BK can be Alice... Davis & Rees could be Tweedledum and Tweedledee.
You and John could be the Mad Hatter and the Queen of Hearts! :thumbsup2

That is a REALLY cute idea!

Hey everyone!!

I just got home about 15 minutes ago -

the birthday bash was a blast!!

It should come as no surprise that Amy and Kevin went all out - they had pictures of Alyssa and JoJo and Goliath blown up and all over the room - adorable games - fabulous prized and treat bags - although I never found my AP ;)

The food was great - but the deserts were amazing - plenty of Amy's famous cookies - I was going to snag a few but the clean up process started before I could my hands on them (sorry Marti!!) cupcakes and the most adorable cake -

Amy baked 3 round cakes and iced them and then had JoJo's circus set up on them as a 3 ring circus - it was adorable and delicious!!

Alyssa was adorable and seemed to have a great time - all the kids had a great time - and there were a lot of them!!

I think I would be too embarrassed to invite Amy to my kids birthday party now!! ;) They are lucky if their cake is the same theme as the napkins and plates!! :lmao:

That sounds absolutely adorable! No wonder there was so much planning involved. I can't wait to see pictures! :)

I don't want to lie to the school as it sets a bad example for my kids, and they would NEVER be able to keep quiet. Rees' specialist is writing a letter to have it excused. If they still have a problem, so be it.

As far as heat, that doesn't bother us as we are used to it. We'll drink lots of water, take breaks in the pm, and go swimming. We'll go to the first night of MNSSHP. I think he'll be ok as he is so different now on the anxiety meds. May have to skip the parade, but I think otherwise he'll be fine. I need to read up on MNNSHP and see exactly what we might need to avoid.

Appreciate the support and HONESTY! Real friends tell it like it is and help you evaluate all sides equally.

You may already have looked at them or planned to, but AllEarsNet had pics of the parade: http://www.allearsnet.com/tp/mk/mnsshp.htm

Also, if you have subscribed to TGM again, he has a photo tour under Activities.

Oh and the DISer who has some of her videos online has a MNSSHP one:

Hey DDA! I'm caught up :)

I just did back to back 12 hour shifts, and have to be in again tonight at 7 .... but I have to help my dad at 9 this morning, so I can't sleep until about 10:30

So what did I do on the way home? Made ADRs for a trip that we may or may not be going on.

Keep your fingers crossed that Kyle can get his first vacation request. If he does, then we're going to Disney in September! I originally wanted to do the last week in September and first in October so we could do MNSSHP, but his weeks off have to fit in his month-block schedule, so that was a no go. So as it stands, if we don't buy DVC this summer we will be at POR September 18th-27th. If we do, we'll be at SSR then (or maybe in October, since free dining won't matter), but doing the same ADRs.

But all of this is contingent upon Kyle getting that vacation time.... :rolleyes1

How disappointed do you think I'll be if I have to cancel all of this?! :guilty: But for now, here's dreaming.... all of these are made and confirmed!

Monday: travel, dinner @ Ohana, Spectromagic(?)
Tuesday: MK, dinner @ Crystal Palace, Wishes
Wednesday: MGM, dinner @ 50's Prime Time, Fantasmic
Thursday: relax, DTD< dinner @ Wolfgang Puck
Friday: Epcot, dinner @ coral reef
Saturday: sleep in a bit, Epcot (WS), dinner @ LeCellier, Illuminations
Sunday: AK, dinner @ 1900 Park Fare
Monday: MGM, relax, BW and dinner @ Spoodles
Tuesday: MK, dinner @ Tony's, Wishes
Wednesday: AK or relax, travel :(

My tip would be to make awesome costumes for the whole family and get selected to be in the parade. It was a once in a lifetime experience and there was nothing scary about riding in it :teeth: . We watched it from in front of the barber shop and we didn't find it too scary. There were people walking around the park in scarier costumes.

Deb

Here's hoping! Terra and I were just talking about costumes yesterday. So far her top choice seems to be me as Peter Pan and her as Capt Hook. A new one last night was her as Mickey and me as Goofy. And also her ever recurring idea of me as Cinderella and her as Fairy Godmother. I think we need to hit the fabric store soon and peruse the pattern books... I wonder if I can find them online?

 Hi Lindsay! I'm working on my DVC comparison & benefits information right now. The spreadsheet you sent has been very helpful.

I was teasing my DH earlier and told him the Dec. flight was only $218 a piece. He was shocked it was so low. I asked him if I could purchase it now. He kind of laughed and then said "Get the bills paid and ..." He never finished his sentence. I know that just means I just have to show him we can afford it and I know that we can. I sooooo want DVC. I love Disney and want to return. I know that we can afford it and it only makes sense as much as I'd like to go a couple of times a year. I want to do the MVMCP this year and the MNSSHP next year after listening to all of you talk about it. I also want to do the Wine & Food festival, the half marathon and maybe the full marathon if I can get in shape. So many things to do and see at Disney. By the time, I've done & seen it all once, they'll make additions and changes and we'll have to start all over.

I find myself stopping to consider everytime I want to buy something new or eat out. I am always thinking "Could this money be better spent on my DVC membership?" Most of the time, the answer has been yes.

My DH really wants to do some of the extra things - like the Richard Petty experience you guys were talking about earlier, a fishing excursion, a horse carriage ride, etc. It is so cool that we can do this all from one place.

Can you share that with me? I'm sure that is the way for me to go too. My DH thought he saw it all when we went in 1993 for 3 nights. It wasn't until I went with Joe in Aug and stayed at ASMo that he realized there was more than the Boardwalk area hotels and MK area hotels. He's actually the one who suggested DVC because he knows I love WDW. I'm a bit afraid if we do DVC he won't want to leave the villa. I'm enticed by the discount on AP's and a washer/dryer....

After all the Airwalk/Croc talk yesterday, I had to go to Payless and try some out. I bought the black ones for work and the multicolor ones for fun. They were surprising comfortable and the arches were a welcomed relief for my feet. I went to several stores and tried on various styles of the Crocs brand, but I actually found the Payless version more comfortable. My oldest DS as got a pair of black ones. Middle DS said they were too ugly for him to be seen wearing them :groom: I think he's starting to care how he looks.

The T-shirts that I made yesterday got lots of compliments at the bowling tournament today. They are in the was now so we can wear them again tomorrow. :lmao:

Deb

All this talk of Crocs and Airwalks had me thinking too. I actually tried on a pair Crocs yesterday and was impressed. I think that I may have to detour by Payless today while we're in the city and try them on.

A question on sizing for anyone with experience...I wear a size 10 normally. When I tried on the Large Crocs (W10-11) my toes kept bumping the end. Because slip on shoes bother me, I need the strap back. Was the strap too tight and I should loosen it or should I get the XL? The XL that I tried on looked large, but felt fine...not too big.

Tia -- from personal experience, I would buy what feels right. I have worn one pair of mine for almost a year now and they have not changed size.. have not stretched like many traditional materials do.

Woohoo! Daddy doensn't need my help in SS after all.....

off to bed. I (hopefully) won't be up until I have to leave, so I'll talk to you all tomorrow, assuming I make it out alive! :rotfl:

Hi All!

This is a quick, drive-by posting, so much to do - so little time!

I've tried to skim over the pages that I've missed, sorry if I forget some things!

Clare - the HP sauce is wonderful and I love the plastic bottle. SO much easier. The bottles in America are still glass. And the Curley Wurleys are GONE! That didn't take long.

We had our homemade version of a Dole Whip today - pineapple sherbet in pineapple juice. Let me tell you - I was impressed!!! Now if I could just do this with Chick Fil-A.......

Was it the blue bunny sorbet from wallyworld, DH was leaving there on Friday as his bank is there and called to say he would meet me at my mom for dinner, so I said if he was coming home he could have got it, he parked and went back and got the sorbet and came home............then we went to mom.
It is good, I never made the float but will try that later.

DH and I have been planning many vacations that we are putting together for the next 9 months and we are discussing the Christmas trip a lot. We have had such great luck renting DVC points in the past (and are doing it again for the October trip) that we are kicking around the idea of doing it yet again for Christmas. We also like the option of having Christmas dinner in our room since nothing we have ever done at WDW has ever felt "right" to us.

OKW is a location we have never tried so we started looking at the accommodations there and like the fact that they are bigger than the other DVC resorts and they have a full-sized dining table. Then I looked at the size of a 1BR villa... it is 1016 square feet. The cottage on our honeymoon was #1016, our first apartment was at 1016 William Street, our room number on our trip to Acapulco was 1016 and I am now posting on page 1016 of the DDA thread. doo doo doo doo

Looks like I need to post a request for points on the DVC Rent board in the near future :rolleyes1

Well there was about 15 of us!! As for the eggs themselves, we mix the powdered sugar, cooked potatoes, butter all together, shape them into eggs and the hardened them in the refridgerator. Then dipped them in melted chocolate.
I heard my mom say that they used 36lbs of powdered sugar.

They are so yummy but not quite as good as my grandmother used to make. She is in a nursing home now so we have been doing this the past 3 years to keep the tradition alive. I don't know how she did it all by herself, but I do not think she made anywhere close to amount we have done. My mom and aunt just do not know when to stop! My aunt has over 25 Bundt pans and close to 700 cookbooks, clearly she has a problem!!

Clearly!!!! :goodvibes

I love it too! All of her choices have been "backwards" to what one might normally think age/size wise. She is Pooh and I am Piglet, I'm Aurora and she is a fairy...there have been a few more, but I can't think of them now, but she's always the older/bigger character and I'm the younger/smaller.

Looks like the free dining plan is out for us......the timing is just so off!!
It starts the day before our kids start school
the following week is Tarryn's Batmitzvah with her big party which I am busy organizing and trying to get Dj, caterers, entertainment etc etc booked
The week after Aubrey and I are off to Alaska for 2 weeks and then it is The Jewish New year besides the fact that MIL will be here all that time and I could NOT handle WDW with her, she leaves on the 26th and it ends on the 30th.

:confused3 :sad2: :sad2: :sad2:
