Hope your dad feels better soon! Good luck on getting that list completed. Eric still has his and it's nowhere near being done. He did tell me that he plans to have it done by Thanksgiving. Lucy's christening is that Sunday so everyone will be here after for brunch. I don't think I'll hold my breath.

thanks Robyn,
I hope he is feeling better by Sat. My parents neighbor hood association is putting on a Halloween carnival so we will be going over their. I know he wants to see Virginia and hold her.

Tom has 2 more of his creations up for bidding!!!

Ah ha! I will have to go put them on watch!

Tom - I will have to figure out how to add you to my favorite sellers! That group is pretty darn small these days.

Hey guys--question for you--well a favor to ask

My school is doing a program to "send smiles around the world"--basically, we are trying to get as many postcards as we can from around the world--Would anyone be willing to send a postcard? You could send them to my house and i can b riing them into work, sinice most of you have the address. you could address it to "The Goddard School" in care of me, at my address

In the postcard, can you just mentino where you are from, if theres any interesting facts from your area or anything like that?

thanks so much if you can do this..

Keep reminding me! I don't have a postcard and I will keep forgetting unless you keep posting it!

Elizabeth,

I called for the Beach Club & was told I could get 30% off the BC standard room but the 40% was only on deluxe villas. I spoke to several CM's & on hold for 30 minutes & thats what they all came back with. So according to what i was told no 40% on regular deluxe. I guess I shouldn't complain as 30% isn't too shabby.

Huh. The girl who posted it said they got 40% off WL. I don't think she meant VWL, but who knows? So did you book for 30% off?
For a standard at AKL 30% would be just a hair under the AP discount, but at Beach Club 30% might be better than AP because AP is usually a flat rate, not a %. The last AP rate during value season was $70 off per night, but if BC is $330 for a standard then 30% off would be $99 off. I e-mailed Mary at MouseSavers because it is driving me nuts that this isn't posted anywhere!

I swear DS is on a mission to drive me insane.:headache: He has this project where he is supposed to display photos and momentos from 3 or 4 "benchmark" times in his life and do a presentation for the class! He said she assigned it yesterday, but the paper says students will start presenting on Wednesday! That's TODAY! So he threw together a hodge podge of stuff that isn't really a good representation of anything, and it made him 35 minutes late for bed. WHY can he not keep up?! I see he got a 70 for another assignment in language arts and he has NO CLUE why it was only a 70. He is just so ditzy!:sad2:

I see it was answered, yep thats where it is. (by the suit of armour.)

Hope he feels better soon.

 I am po'd!!!! I would have booked that for August! Does anyone know more about this? Would they let someone book after the fact that they are home now?? Grrrrr.

I called tonight to find out about the program and was told that you may only book the bounceback if you are a checked in Resort Guest. If you have checked out and are still standing in the lobby you do not qualify. No exceptions. I explained that there was no info given at check in nor was any info in our room. She said that if I had called CRO while there and inquired they would have been able to book it. She said that some people were still on Disney property and were handed a brochure, but they had already checked out so they could not book it. I asked for a supervisor and got same story. She did tell me the dates were from Jan- Apr 12 with many of the Feb, Mar and April dates blacked out and also Aug 10 - Sept 27. I checked the dates when the boys were off from school and all of the dates were blacked out which means that we couldn't use it anyway, but it would have been nice to have the option.

It is a darn good thing my mouth is empty or I would have choked for sure!:scared1: You have NEVER seen my movie?!

And Theresa, you aren't a fan of Tim Burton?! I Loooove Tim Burton! But he is dark and twisty inside like I am.;)

We've never seen it either.

Yes and right now the Rockies are trailing 4 to 1 in the bottom of the 3rd. :sad2:

Make that 1 to 6 in the 5th :cool1: My DB is at the game. He is sitting in the FIRST row about 7 seats to the right of the Rockies dugout. He is wearing a white hat and a drab olive green coat. The lady sitting next to him has on a blue coat with a bright green stripe and there is a photographer standing in front of him with a blue umbrella. (He called with the info, I have not spotted him yet)

I couldn't get them to let me use the code, it sounds like the CM you got was much more helpful. :upsidedow

So in Jan. I weighed 177lbs In Feb. I got pregnant. So with being pregnant I was supposed to gain weight, well the first 4 months I lost due to morning sickness got down to 170lbs. months 5-7 I gained got up to 187lbs. Became a Gestational Diabetic at the end of my 7th month. Started losing weight again on 10/18 I had Drs. appt. I weighed 180lbs. Had the baby on 10/21 she weighed 7lbs 4oz when I weighed myself Tues. morning I was 169 lbs that is less then what I weighed before I got pregnant

Congrats, Jennifer! :thumbsup2

Likely us, too!

This is what the lady posted on the Codes & Rates board. It is code CDR. I don't know what would happen if you called and tried to get them to give you the deal since you have checked out, but it's worth the price of a phone call!

I may have to call in the a.m. Mousekeeping didn't clean my room on Saturday, because the time they got around to my room it was close to 5 p.m., and I was getting ready for the night. She gave me a bag of towels, but definitely no fliers. And of course, I was out of there by 8 a.m. on 10/21!

Does anyone know how long the booking period is? It seems like that was clear the last time.

Elizabeth - I didn't follow the promo closely last time. I'm assuming these are packages (not just room only). A 40% discount would be great!!

Theresa I hear from a friend at work that North Texas University is an excellent school for Music. Her son is a Junior in band and is a drum major. he is thinking of going to north Texas and majoring in music.

She would have a lot of DDA aunties in the vicinity if she went that route! :thumbsup2 I can get to Denton lickety-split! ;) :rotfl:

aha!! I knew there had to be another person who didn't "get" Burton.

I also don't get it. We watched Corpse Bride a couple of months ago and I didn't get that. I decided to give Nightmare before Christmas a try because Elizabeth likes Jack. I still don't get it. :confused3

Deb - Sorry the Bounce Back didn't work out better for you.:guilty: IF they are still offering it in December I will book Aug. 10-17 at AKL and then watch for AP rates to see if those are better. I'll book Aug. 1-9 somewhere with a AAA rate - depends on DH's schedule. If DH gets vacation staring Aug. 10 I might wait until Aug. 3 to fly out with DS because rates at Pop drop on 8/3.

Good night, Jen & Tammi!

Remember that you are charged whatever the rate is per night instead of for lenght of stay now so even if you pay more for the first 2 nights you would get the lower rate for the other nights.

Obviously the rest of you are simply not dark and twisty enough!;)

Lindsay - I am not sure if you have to buy at least a one day ticket or not.:confused3 This doesn't seem to involve DDP, it is a room discount instead. It starts the same date in August as UK free dining. Last year it was if you were onsite 11/8 - 12/31 you could book for 8/5 - 9/?? and have free dining. The dates were better than what they offered to general public later on. So it was free DDP, rack rate room, minimum 1 days passes for each person. We ddin't save money that way, but I was going to do the deluxe DDP if they offered it at a discount like they did for Sept. '08 Bounce Back. Looks like maybe the offers going forward won't involve food!:rotfl:

Elizabeth have you ever worried about Hurricanes and going in Aug. Jeff is worried about going in Aug. and hurricanes. He thinks we should go in Nov. I am just worried that if we decide not to home school then Olivia would have to miss a week of school.

They sold through all of the Snow White pins pretty quickly, but they got re-shipped. Hopefully they will have some when my coupon starts on 11/1.

I saw some of these sets at the Stonebriar store last week, Elizabeth. If you don't end up getting some, let me know, and I can check to see if it's worth you driving north!

Just got home again!

Not sure if i told you guys--but when we got my painting for my parents anniversary, there was a black line across my teeth--we have been goinig back and forth trying to get it resolved and they finally gave us three choices--a) send it to hong kong to get fixed b) get 50% of price back c) pay 50 dollars and keep the one we have, and get a new one

Mom chose choice C---we are going to g ive the one we have to my grandparenst and keep the new one!

Sounds like a good choice, Jen!

Elizabeth- I had no idea that Dallas was getting an American Girl store. I sure hope that we can make it work out to visit.

There is one opening - it's not quite as big as the ones in Chicago, New York, etc., but still a pretty big deal. It opens next weekend (11/3 I believe is the date). My nieces can't wait to come visit me now! ;)

You guys will definitely have to make it to Dallas!

Email update from Denise, 7:30 p.m.

Rees just got back from the Endoscopy and biopsies at 7pm. He did so well! The GI doctors came by to talk. They took 6 biopsies of his esophagus, stomach, small intestine, and jejunum. His lower esophagus and stomach were fairly inflamed and indicated chronic gastritis. The bowel was dilated and had thickened walls. They tested specifically for lactose intolerance and h-pylori. They suspect that he has something causing malabsorption and a possible partial blockage where the bowel is distended. They are keeping him until Friday or later and having the surgeon look at the results too. If it is a partial blockage, he will need surgery. The biopsy results probably won't be back until Friday.

Thanks for the prayers. It was another long day for Rees as he didn't get to eat from 10pm yesterday until 7:30pm tonight. He is so brave and such a trooper!. John's parents came over to help. I will send out another update when we hear something.

Thanks for the update, Amy. I hope they all get some good rest tonight. :wizard: :wizard:

thanks for the reminder. So when do they have all of the christmas decorations up at Disney.

Right. When I pulled up the rates/dates it showed $110ish for the first 2 nights, then it dropped to $82ish. It would work out better for my bosses if I worked 8/1, but there is a chance that DH might be off 8/1 and that would be the start of our vacation. So for now I am off starting 8/1. I am not dead set on leaving 8/1 if I would be going without DH, though. Not that paying the higher rate at Pop those 2 nights is a horrible thing, I just haven't quite decided what I am doing.:)

Nah. I lived in FL from 1980-1989 so I don't really worry about hurricanes. We actually barely missed being hit by a hurricane in Oct. 2005! We flew home the day before Wilma hit. It wasn't as bad as some of the previous ones - I think the parks were closed half a day. We had crummy weather when we went in Jan & Feb so we aren't going back in early '08. (That's why I need to go for 16 nights in Aug. '08.):rotfl2: We have been very lucky with our 2 long August trips. It has been hot (REALLY REALLY HOT) but overall it has been good.
