The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 30

Nah. I lived in FL from 1980-1989 so I don't really worry about hurricanes. We actually barely missed being hit by a hurricane in Oct. 2005! We flew home the day before Wilma hit. It wasn't as bad as some of the previous ones - I think the parks were closed half a day. We had crummy weather when we went in Jan & Feb so we aren't going back in early '08. (That's why I need to go for 16 nights in Aug. '08.):rotfl2: We have been very lucky with our 2 long August trips. It has been hot (REALLY REALLY HOT) but overall it has been good.

Hot we live in Texas can it compare to Texas heat? I would love to do the Christmas again but I think it would have to be a short trip because of schools. If we did Aug. we could do a longer trip and the parks would be open later especially AK as the sun sets later.

I am not good at TR's, so I am not even going to attempt one. I do want to say that this was one of the best trips ever! Everyone I met was wonderful, I felt like I had know them forever. As corny as it may sound, I feel blessed that I was able to share my happy place with others who love it just as much.

Tammi, Bob, Kristine, Bill, Vicki, Chuck, Elin, Anne Marie, Chanon, Lindsay, Terry, Stephanie, Deb, & Chris, from the bottom of my heart thank you for making this a very special & memorable trip :goodvibes

Awww!

Right back at ya, Janet!

They call the whipped version "bettercreme" here. I don't like that stuff. That isn't frosting. It is whipped cream. I have trouble getting the buttercream version. It is the only kind I like. Now, that's real frosting. My favorite is white cake with white frosting - the traditional wedding cake kind.

I'm with you on this, Vicki! The whipped frosting always reminds me of Colgate toothpaste!

Tom has 2 more of his creations up for bidding!!!

Woo hoo! I'm going to have to go check them out!

Hey guys--question for you--well a favor to ask

My school is doing a program to "send smiles around the world"--basically, we are trying to get as many postcards as we can from around the world--Would anyone be willing to send a postcard? You could send them to my house and i can b riing them into work, sinice most of you have the address. you could address it to "The Goddard School" in care of me, at my address

In the postcard, can you just mentino where you are from, if theres any interesting facts from your area or anything like that?

thanks so much if you can do this..

I'd be willing to do it, Jen. Since there are so many of us in Dallas, would you rather me send it from another Texas city (I'll be in several different ones upcoming). When do you need it by?

Elizabeth,

I called for the Beach Club & was told I could get 30% off the BC standard room but the 40% was only on deluxe villas. I spoke to several CM's & on hold for 30 minutes & thats what they all came back with. So according to what i was told no 40% on regular deluxe. I guess I shouldn't complain as 30% isn't too shabby.

Sounds like you got someone helpful, Anne Marie. I wish it extended into early May, but doesn't sound like it. I just don't know that I want to go in April, since there will likely still be spring break going on, grad nights, etc. I'll have to ponder if it's worth the aggravation of a phone call.

Was this a "room only" booking, or did you have to buy a package for everyone?

I e-mailed Mary at MouseSavers because it is driving me nuts that this isn't posted anywhere!

I swear DS is on a mission to drive me insane.:headache: He has this project where he is supposed to display photos and momentos from 3 or 4 "benchmark" times in his life and do a presentation for the class! He said she assigned it yesterday, but the paper says students will start presenting on Wednesday! That's TODAY! So he threw together a hodge podge of stuff that isn't really a good representation of anything, and it made him 35 minutes late for bed. WHY can he not keep up?! I see he got a 70 for another assignment in language arts and he has NO CLUE why it was only a 70. He is just so ditzy!:sad2:

Not to sound like a stalker, but I know that Mary is out of town on a cruise with her husband. I've been reading his entertaining blog that she posted about in the last newsletter, and they're on the boat now.

Yikes - sounds like he just isn't concentrating!

thanks for the reminder. So when do they have all of the christmas decorations up at Disney.

Jennifer, I think it varies from year to year, and it always seems to get earlier. The Osborne Lights will be up and activated by mid-November, the MVMCP's start around that time, too. It's really just Epcot's festivities that don't start until around Thanksgiving.

At home we don't stand out in the heat. And at WDW it is almost 100% humidity when you get up in the AM. You are sticky as soon as you walk out of the hotel. But I'm going back for Round 3 so it obviously isn't fatal!:rotfl2:

AK in the summer is BRUTAL. The air doesn't move and it is sweltering hot. We did one morning at AK and that was it. We rode Everest, DH & DS rode Dinosaur, we had lunch at Tusker House (the last day they were open as CS), and I think that was it! We got there past rope drop because the transportation at WL is, well, "sucky" comes to mind. Since we lost the best 30 minutes of touring time the rest of the day was sort of shot.

That's ok Theresa, I got your back. Especially since I saw one of the players as I was changing channels and ohhh was he cute. :teeth:

I'm going to give this one to the Sox:sad2: My poor Rockies look like a minor league team tonight.

Which player?? My favorite is first baseman Todd Helton....he looks better without that goatee.

Well, he had a good time, and we are still planning on going in December with the kids, but I'm sorry to say that I don't think he "get's it." :( Maybe when he is there with his daughter that will change. I don't know. :confused3

Chuck didn't really get it the first time either. It grew on him and now he is as addicted as I am.

Do you need one from Colorado??

This really has been a one sided game. I must say that I like a closer scoring game though it is nice to be up a game in the series ;)

Lindsay - Thanks for the info about Mary! Somebody is updating the site, but there isn't anything about Bounce Back. Not that it really matters to me NOW since I won't be arriving onsite for another 7 weeks. If the offer ends before then it makes no difference what the details were!:rotfl2:

I am going to bed. DS wears me out.
Good night, DDA!!

If we do aug it will be the first week probably. We will be getting a rental car more then likely.

night Elizabeth

Everyone at work was asking me about my vacation. I told them about all the little dreams that we got and the extra special things, they just don't get it :confused3 I couldn't believe that they hadn't heard about the Dream Squad :lmao: I guess that I speak a foreign language.

I hope to type up a trip report sometime soon. Tomorrow AM I have a follow up doctor's appointment. Hopefully there will be no infection or blood present and I will be able to move on. I also need to sign Colby up for preschool. Last night I made a 4 course dinner and we had family over for cake and ice cream for Hunter's birthday. Today we ate the rest of the cake and at 9:25 PM (his birthtime) We brought in a cupcake and sang to him. He was so happy. His kid party is Saturday and I am planning to have the Giant family party for all 3 boys on the following Saturday. Anyone want to come? I could use the help :thumbsup2

I need to get to bed now as I must get up early for my doctors appointment. I hope you enjoyed the sample pictures.

Great pics, Deb! (I have that shirt, too!) I'm glad to put a face with the name of AR, so I can keep an eye out for her in the future. I'd love to meet her!

Jennifer, in my opinion, it's just as hot, if not worse when you factor in the humidity. (Think Houston, with better air quality!)
