I agree about Paris -

I told my DH that I think a 17 year old trying to act 35 sexy and sultry is HIGHLY inappropriate and she needs to start acting her age or she is going to be gone soon -

he really likes Katherine but there is a disconnect there with me -

I have not voted yet b/c no one seems to make me want to vote for them

Ace is just not doing it for my anymore - Taylor sang horribly this week -

Chris is the only one that I have liked every week but I think his sound is going to get old - it really bothered me that Bo never really went out of his comfort zone and that Carrie legitimately tried the other genres -

I don't know why they tell Chris - good for you for not compromising - yet tell all the others they need to take risks and step outside of their comfort zones - I think you need to have mass appeal to win and right now Chris doesn't seem to have it
I like Katherine too, but I think she needs to get more of a personality or something.

I am tired of Ace flattening his hair down with his hands. It looks like crap.

I also like Kellie. If she continues to improve she has a legitimate shot.

Mandisa has a great voice.

These are just my opinions.

I think what they meant when they said that to Chris is that he takes a song and puts his own arrangement to it...that southern rock-ish type quality. The others just sing the song with the same style that it was originally recorded with. Does that make sense?

Are we going to hit another milestone today?

Cute!!! That is what Abi has decided to do for her birthday...Build a Bear but we are doing it at home....found a sale and coupon on do it yourself kits and then we are going to paint tshirts for the bears.

Build-a-bear was a big thing in our house. We never did it for birthdays because the closest one is 2 hours away. The girls and I go school shopping there and for a couple of years that was one of the required stops. Becky has 4 or 5 of them. Katrina & I each have one.

I can't quit crying. I just talked to my brother and all he kept saying was "I really need you here, Nisi". My heart is broken for him and Keyla. This is just too horrible. I am so, so sad.
prayers for your brother and his wife.

I would love to know what kit you are using and where you got it. Alyssa would be thrilled with this for her birthday next month.

The kits are on sale for $8.99 (instead of 17.99 :cool1: ) at U.S. Toy Company and I have a coupon for $5 off a $35 purchase.....I am going this weekend to look at them and will report back the quality if you would like. I know they have an online store...not sure if it has the sale on it though.

When I buy a package of butter, there are 4 sticks in the package. I melt one of those. It's the equivalent of 1/2 cup. I have to say, you really need to use real butter. I've tried margarine, and it's just not as good. I usually have to cook my pie a bit longer than the time the recipe says. Otherwise, the center is not completely set up. By the way, it was a huge hit last night. DBIL took half the pie home for his breakfast this morning. That is so flattering. I love to bake, and up till a while ago, my body showed it. Now, I bake for others.

Right now I've got bread in the oven for my neighbor who is pregnant. She gets so ill during all 9 months of her pregnancy. She can't stand to have cooking smells in her home. So, a couple of us in the neighborhood are taking turns making dinners and just dropping them by around 3:00 in the afternoon. Holly would normally never let us do this, but she just can't stand to cook, and so she lets us take care of her. I told her, it really helps me, as I love to cook and bake, but can't really eat much of what I love to cook, so it helps me more than it helps her. Sorry, I started rambling there! The smell of fresh bread makes me a bit nostalgic.

I checked with Amy on whether she uses real butter or margarine in her cookies when I heard so many people had problems with them. I've found that some recipes are better with margarine (even though they say butter) while others are better with real butter. I have both in my house for this reason.

That is a great idea Glynis! I used to bake all the time when I was younger. If I asked my dad if I could go somewhere (dance, party, whatever), his standard yes reply was "Are there any cookies in the cookie jar?" This was always my clue that if there were cookies, I could go. ;) The joy went out somewhere along the line (I think it was the extra weight on my body). Now that I'm finding myself again, I've rediscovered the joy. I've enjoyed making lots of things I haven't in many, many years. I've also been trying new things. I love the smell of something delicious cooking. I've not done everything I'd like because of all the extra food but I can start giving it away as well.

Good morning DDA! I hope everyone has sun, and I hope your snow is melting because ours isn't and it's still cold. :rolleyes2

I'm off to take my nursing finals! I'm sooooo not prepared, but I should still pass the classes, which is all I care about at this point. I'm so ready to be done! I didn't study except for like an hour though last night because there's some garbage to sort through with my in-law's and this house purchase. I would think the details aren't really any of their business, but what do I know :confused3 (ooh, THIS is where this guy :rolleyes2 belongs!) So naturally, that's taking a toll on Kyle and I as well, as.... well, you know how men can be with their moms. We've discussed it enough, so I KNOW you know.

Oh, well. Everyone have a great day, please! :goodvibes
I hope all went well.

Visitation is tomorrow night. John and I are leaving in the am after we drop the kids at school and driving to Philadelphia, MS. The funeral is sometime on Saturday. We will spend the night on Sat at my brother and SIL's house and drive back early on Sunday.

Please keep Ben and Keyla and her mom, Gloria, in your prayers. My in-laws are coming tonight to watch the kids.

Denise

Have a safe trip and they and you will be in my prayers.

Our closest Build A Bear is about 5 minutes away!! With it so close it is so hard not going in all of the time....we went last weekend because if you go into BAB until April 2nd you can sign up to win a trip to New York for a Radio Disney concert.

My girls always plan their parties months in advance...always have....all Abi wanted to do was Build a Bear which even if we just had one friend come with us would get more pricey than I want. So when the coupon came in the mail last week I was thrilled!! I said because of the sale and coupon if you choose this way we can do the bears and have everybody paint tshirts for their bears....that clinched it for her!!

When one life enters, another exits.

This is not my style, but you all should know why I'm not on for the rest of the week. Family friends (daughter is in Matt's class) Rusty died last night. He was working on the treadmill and had a massive heart attack. 47. In their home. Leaves a wife and three small children - all home, all witnessed their father's death. Pray for the survivors. They need it.
prayers for this famliy.

Yes, if you could let me know I would appreciate it. I looked online but couldn't find the kits.

What fantastic neighbors! That sounds like a really great thing to do for her! :goodvibes

My sister and I both make them a lot. The birthday party is a lot of fun. Cassi had one for her 10th birthday, and they did a fantastic job with the kids!

Denise -- you all will be in my prayers this weekend, specifically for the funeral events. I know your brother and SIL will appreciate your being there, and I'm glad John could go with you to support you as well. :grouphug:

That's one of the great things about living in a small town (like 1500 people), we all know each other. I like that my kids are growing up in a place where they have an entire town looking out for them. It really takes a lot of the worry out of raising kids. I feel like I have a great support system!

I was watching Heist last night....bad show but there was nothing else on the tube..and Zac Efron was in the show.....they blew him up!!! It was so hard on me :rotfl2: that today all I could see in my head when We're all in this together was that dumb image. So glad the show was on later so it didn't traumatize my girls.

BTW, High School Musical is on tv again tonight for anyone who hasn't taped it yet.
