Hey guys! I just wanted to share my door signs for the cruise with you all. Kyle's busy right now, and hasn't been on for weeks anyway, so I'll leave this posted temporarily.

Like I posted on the DCL door sign thread, I'm a bit embarrassed at how OCD this first picture is going to come across. I SWEAR I'm not planning all these details for this trip. I am going to just relax and not plan a lot, so it will be a very different trip than the parks. (Like you all will believe that  ) But anyway... I felt like the only way to justify the simplicity is to show how they work together.

:rolleyes1

Who am I kidding, I'm totally OCD and you all know it. I'm serious about my reasoning for posting it though!

ETA: I hope to change the picture for 'graduation' to a picture of us on graduation. Right now that's the Cincinnati Children's Hospital campus, since I don't have one yet :)

Very nice!!! Good work!

So this evening DS came to ask me if he could go to our neighbor and I said okay, then DD came to ask and she went, she came home saying they were not there and where was Adam.
He went to friends down in the cul-de-sac and about 1/2 hour later I sent her to go get him and she went out the door and a couple of minutes later came in saying he had fallen in the river!!
I ran out the garage and there was DH with the friends dad from down the road, they were playing by the river - the Chatahoochee is far down from there house and Adam slipped and fell in. Luckily he was not hurt and they managed to get him out he was just soaked from head to toe and freezing!!
He is so lucky there was a parent there as he knows not to go to the river without a parent or I would kill him!!!! :goodvibes

WOW! I am so glad to hear everything is ok. That kind of stuff freaks me out.

When one life enters, another exits.

This is not my style, but you all should know why I'm not on for the rest of the week. Family friends (daughter is in Matt's class) Rusty died last night. He was working on the treadmill and had a massive heart attack. 47. In their home. Leaves a wife and three small children - all home, all witnessed their father's death. Pray for the survivors. They need it.

Oh Marti. I'm so sorry for your family and what they must be going through right now. :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug: :grouphug:

Um.... they're finished

No, they were all right. The first one was REALLY hard, long, detailed, etc. The second was not bad at all. I won't know my grades for a while, but I had figured out ahead of time what I needed to pass each class. I got at least that many on each, so I'm done with nursing classes! Well, at least for this school and this degree :rotfl:

It was really hard to stay focused this time though.

Thanks for asking, and thanks everyone for cheering me on! It's nice to be finished (at least with class and tests) :teeth:

Now if I could just get my role transition schedule sorted out, which should happen tonight, I'll really be in business! :goodvibes

YAY Jennifer! Great news! :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay: :yay:

So cute...

DH came home tonight from his business trip and he and Julia were hugging goodnight - she told him

Daddy you were gone a long time and I need to hug on you for a bit - she then proceeded to hug him as tight as she could for about 5 minutes -and said I will see you tomorrow night -

then she said - "wait - I need to kiss on you now" and counted out 10 kisses

then she asked if she could wake up early to play with him in the morning - he said he had to leave too early

so then she just kept hugging on him and he said he would play with her all day Saturday -

then he said he was going to bed (after the business trip he went early) and she was very sad - so then I said why don't you go snuggle in bed with Daddy - you would have thought I suggested they go to WDW!!!

DH is a keeper!!! and Julia is definately a Daddy's girl!!!

That was so nice.
I love homecomings.
Glad to hear DH is home.

itdjbw I had a scare today too. My boys (2 & 3) were at my mom's house. She had to "go". She left them at the front door watching some men working in the road out front (they love "Bob Builder" type stuff). So she comes out of the bathroom not 2 minutes later and the front door is WIDE open and the boys are nowhere to be seen. She rushes to the front door and there they are running up and down outside on the sidewalk unsupervised!!!

She said she put them both in time out and they knew they had been bad because they were either sniffing or crying from her scolding them. My DS3 had to be the culprit on that one; DS2 can't figure out how to open an interior door, much less one with a lock on it.

I'm always scared they are going to wake up in the middle of the night and sneak downstairs and out the door.

How is your heart now? Has it slowed down?
WOW! Glad to hear everyone is ok.

Midnite -

about a year ago Nick ran out the garage door when Julia opened it - she tried to stop him but he thought it was a game that she was chasing him - there were 3 of us in the house and took us a minute to realize that none of us had them -

I ran one way around the house - DH ran the other -

they were halfway down the street running on the sidewalk -

I always worry too that they might go out in the middle of the night!!!

Thank you, we love what we do. Yes, the time away stinks, but it's all for good.

OK DDA, I am off. My mother has come over for the night. I am taking her to the airport tomorrow for her trip to Ireland. So Rosejo, she'll be in your neck of the woods for a few hours during her layover. If you happen to be at the airport in London, she'll buy you a cup of coffee.;)

Talk with you all later:thumbsup2

How scary! I'm glad it turned out ok, and I think it's a good start that they knew it was not a good idea! :grouphug:

Our daughter's nursery was full of trains and fire engines and teddy bears. I only changed it to pink and yellow this year!

That's too funny! And if I remember correctly from a picture with the room as a background, you and/or your wife did a beautiful job with that change! :goodvibes

I have some good news to share! Except it's kind of scary, as well :scared1:

I got a phone call today to schedule an interview at Children's hospital! It's set for April 4th, which is awesome. The only thing is, it sounds like it's going to be exhausting!

At 11:00, I meet with the nurse recruiter for 30 minutes. From 11:30-12:30 I interview with the clinical manager and a staff nurse of the unit where I am applying (at the same time). From 12:30-1:30, I interview with a nurse educator and some general HR person at the same time. And then from 1:30-2:30 I interview with some upper level brass type person.

I don't think I've been on an interview that lasted ONE hour, let alone over THREE! Is this what the real world is normally like?! If so, then I don't think I like it. If not, then it's no wonder there's a nursing shortage! :rotfl:

Sounds pretty full on to me! Good luck you'll knock 'em dead :thumbsup2

I'll  as her plane flies over... I'm in Bristol which is a good 150 miles from London and I'm not due there for work for another few weeks yet... hooray! i hate going to London for work :goodvibes

Jennifer - :cool1: Woo Hoo, The finals are over. I know that feeling. Good luck on getting the job you want. I love your door sign. & you are right, you had to show them together, otherwise it would be confusing to just show a shirt that says residency. & even if you are totally OCD, that's a good thing. That's what I tell my DH when he looks at me working on my pin collection and just shakes his head. :rotfl2:

Kate - Glad DH is home again & it is so nice that Julia & her daddy have such a great relationship.

Lynn - congratulations on the birth of your grandson. Hopefully it will help to bring your son & DIL back together.

Marti - Sorry for the loss of a family friend. I am not sure if it's because I am older, or more in tune to it, but it seems to me that death comes all too often these days. :grouphug:

Glynnis - I love Pecan pie & I am convinced it doesn't have calories :lmao:
I will only eat it home made or when we go to the Lancaster area. Your recipe sounds good & don't laugh, cause I am a pretty good cook & baker, what is a block of butter? 1/4 pound? :confused3

Julia - what a relief you must feel about your son. I am glad he got nothing more than a good soaking in a dirty river. I am sure it taught him a valuable lesson.

MidNite - that must have been quite a scare for your mom. Glad it turned out well and maybe it helped teach the children a lesson?

Penny

Marti-I was so sad to read of your friend. It hit really close to home for me as my own Dad died of a heart attack at age 42. I was 6 years old, the youngest of 6. Don't know how my Mom survived but she had to. Your family and your friends will be in my prayers.

I had this same problem with the boys were little. We live in the city limits of a small suburb outside of Dallas, but we do have a tank nearby. Both boys were always very curious, loved the outside and were very busy! They knew not to go outside, but it is hard to reason with a 2 or 3 year old. My DH and I were trying to figure out what to do, then finally remembered that our alarm has a feature on it where you can have the doors make a quick beep each time they are opened. We turned that feature on, and were relieved that we would know whenever one of them opened a door. I think you can buy those types of things, without having an alarm system.

Just a thought -- it sure gave us a warm fluffy feeling knowing we would know when they went outside.
