The DDA Trouble Free Zone Part 3

Okay I had to leave work early today. My mom called and said that Olivia had not eaten or drank anything yet today. this was at 11am. When I took her to Grandmas this morn, she was weazing. she has had a cough and runny nose off and on since christmas. we have had one diganosis of sinus infection.
fast forward to after the Dr appointment. we think she has a virus but it seems to have triggered an astma episode. The Dr. had me give her a breathing treatment. it seemed to help her some. They did a chest xray and it was negative for pneumonia. so they gave me a script to get a nebuliazer. well my insurance won't cover it from places like walgreens. I have to go to a medical supply store which is not open on Sun. she still has hardly drank or ate anything. she will tell me she wonts something like icecream or chicken and fries I offer it to her and she then says no thank you!
all she has done all afternoon is they on my lap. she sleeps for a little and then she wakes up. I think it might be a long night.

We have gone through this with Nicholas when he's gotten the croup, nebulizer and all. Watch her throughout the night, as her breathing will probably be impaired. Sometimes I would let Nicholas sleep with us, so if he really started wheezing I would hear him. If she gets up in the middle of the night having trouble breathing, I suggest taking her outside where the cool air opens the lungs. I can remember sitting on our porch in the middle of winter all wrapped in blankets trying to open his airways.

I also went into Hecht's for the first time EVER! They had nothing for girls on sale. They had lots of that disney stuff for girls. You know the Raven or unfabulous clothes. I am not too thrilled with it and the prices are too much. We had just left abercrombie where Ihad paid 19 and 24 for super thin tshirts for Megan and then the Raven t was 36!!!!! abercrombie didn't look quite so bad anymore!

and to top that, Grace had tried that exact Rave t on in TJ Maxx last week and we had passed on it andit was only 7.50!

Sorry Nancy. I guess your girls are a little older than my Alyssa and more worried about being fashion divas. Alyssa is happy with anything pink/flowery/or twirly (as in dresses and skorts).

I don't like that Raven stuff. Too funky for my taste. But I do find a lot that I like in the Friends line. And I still get to buy what I like. Give it a few years and it will be what she likes!

Sorry Nancy. I guess your girls are a little older than my Alyssa and more worried about being fashion divas. Alyssa is happy with anything pink/flowery/or twirly (as in dresses and skorts).

I don't like that Raven stuff. Too funky for my taste. But I do find a lot that I like in the Friends line. And I still get to buy what I like. Give it a few years and it will be what she likes!

Megan (10) would like to be Paris Hilton! We did Club Libby Lu at the Mall and she chose the Paris Hilton updo with Sunglasses!! Every morning she does her hair and her clothes must match perfectly! If I would allow it she would wear makeup and you can bet her jewelry matches! Her lipgloss (all I will allow is always the right shade! ) ANd there is always a hint of perfume, because more would cause WW3 in the house!!!

Now if you met me, you would find this all quite amusing! I am clean neat and tidy and that is all. Most days you will find me dressed quite conservatively in a pair of Khaki's and a solid colored crew neck T or sweater. I might have on a pair of diamond (okay, they are CZ) stud earrings, if I can find them.

I hope I can survive the teenage years!!!

Paris Hilton! Such roll models we have for our girls nowadays.

My almost 4 Alyssa is pretty close to your Megan. Everyday when she sees me in the bathroom doing my hair and makeup she comes in and does hers too (pretend of course) using my brushes and such. Then she paints her nails. And I have this awful bright red lipstick that I probably wore once and discovered that it looked hideous that she loves to put on (only allowed to wear it in the house for dress up). She especially likes it along with her Snow White dress because it gives her "lips like Snow White." She is going to be high maintenance when she is older.

Katrina told me when she was 7 and we went shopping that the clothes I showed her "aren't my style". I told her "You are seven. You are too young to have a style". It only got worse as the years went on. Becky was fine until she turned 16 and then her sisters influence rubbed off.

I am like you - I am clean and neat - don't ask for anything more from me.

Thanks to everyone who chimed in regarding my whining this morning. Obviously I don't feel too fat, because I stopped at McDonalds for a "snack" while I was out running errands. No self control!

That's ok, my DD's have started consulting with my hair dresser scheduling appointments and making plans for what they want done!!! They also keep trying to take me shopping and want to throw out most of my clothes. I told them they could do so when I lost all the weight I need to. 6 more pounds for sure - but I'm shooting for 16. I'm very happy with the 24 that I've lost since October.
