I'll go ahead & post this.
I'll catch up later.
I'm back around page 670.
My bedroom project is finished.
The bedding arrived today.
Perfect timing.
My :cat: Sunny get sick on my bed today.
Here is a picture of my bed with the new bedding.

By the way this is Sunny.
My baby girl.
mynewbedroom-1.jpg

This picture shows the color much better.
Pretty plain without pictures on the wall.
Trying to get packed.
I'm thinking when I get into an apt.
To keep this color as an accent wall.
My Co. allows 1 accent wall per room.

Honest do the colors match.
I'm part color blind, so I'm really asking.

Now to do Ramiro room this weekend.
Then the inside is done. :woohoo:

I think the colors look great! I love your furniture! It looks really classy and very calming!

To everyone who commented on my professor, thanks. You will never know how much it means to have people who will support you no matter what!

Now, in the clear light of a new day, I can look back on his comments and not have them upset me. I have decided that I'm going to totally WOW him with the rest of my work this semester, and then I'm going to the department chair to show him the emails he sent me, along with all the assignments I've turned in (with his positive comments and grades). I think the department needs to know what kind of a guy this is. A teacher is never supposed to make a student feel stupid for asking for help. I'm hopeful that his attitude was just a once in a semester thing, but who knows.

I posted my question on the CB and got some great ideas for a research topic from some school and public librarians. I told DH that I was turning to the DIS for help, and he totally didn't believe I'd get any help here. I just knew he was wrong. When we got home from dinner, he sat down and started reading all your comments, and the help I got from the CB and told me, "don't ever give up these people. They are true friends." He is so grateful for you all and how you have been able to lift me up and make me feel so good about myself.

Thank you all! I will keep all of you in my prayers today! Theresa, I'm praying for your mom! Keep us informed!

My mom will be going in for her biopsy of the spot on her liver tommorow morning at 10:30 east coast time...8:30 CO time. Please pray for her....and for a quick diagnosis.
Thinking of your Mom right now.

Jo your room looks great!!!

Thanks to all for the monster advice. I'm not sure I could get her to watch Monsters Inc but that would be great because the girls' room doesn't have a closet. Emma's been playing with the Monsters happy meal toys but she's pretty stuborn about what movies she'll watch. For a while it was Where the Wild Things Are every night. Now its Pooh(we got at least 10 different ones...), Bob the Builder and Dinosaur. Dinosaur seems a little scary to me but she loves it. She has a big rubber dino that my sister's boyfriend gave her for Christmas. Maybe I should put him at the foot of her bed to protect her.

I agree 100%!!! You've got to let someone but I would wait until after you've got your grade. I've had some really great profs and a few bad ones. In my first semester at graduate school my marketing profession described market segmentation as cutting up a cake with a naked lady on it and giving people the pieces that most interested them. I complained right away to the dean and she said he was already on a terminal contract-it was his last semester. I was really mad. We had paid so much money for that class and were stuck with him. I'm not sure he ever knew I complained and I'm sure I wasn't the only one.

I hope everything goes well, and saying a prayer for your mom and you.

Glynis, Glad DH took you out last night. Go do an awesome job this semester, follow-up with the Dean or Dept Head, and you show him! Glad the CB board had some good ideas for you as well.

Brendita, love the color of the paint. Room looks great. And the new designs look great.

Lovesdumbo, Glad your mom is making such good progress. And we sprinkle PD (aka glitter) on the floor in our kids room. Monsters can't come in if Tinkerbell has worked her magic!

Babytrees, Your mom is in my prayers for a quick diagnosis and something that is easy to treat and cure! Hugs to you.

Clare, I'd love my ticker to say 32 days too!

Deb, my kids LOVE music and Little Einsteins. The Baby Einstein videos had just come out before they were born. They still watch Mozart, the Animal one, and the Christmas one.

Amy, hope the party is a huge success!~ And you leave for Disney on my b'day. You better celebrate for me!

Kristine, Have a great time in Vegas!

And hi to the rest of the DDA! have a great day! :sunny:

Sorry for the late response, I was at reserve duty yesterday and was NOT:guilty: supposed to be in a “chat” room when I posted. The government doesn’t :sad2: like it when we are on website we shouldn’t be on during government time. (Don’t tell my commander:rolleyes1 ).

Ok, DH is an active duty KC-10 Boom Operator in the Air Force and has been in over 18 years. I am in the Air Force reserve and have been for 15 years and 11 months (I hit 16 yrs 24 April):woohoo: . I have had a few different jobs; I came in as a medic, and then became a flying medic on C-141 aircraft. We DH and I started dating and figured we might stay together it was decided that two flyers is not a good idea when you might have a family, so I went to a desk job where I would keep track of all the flight hours and what a flyer did, such as did they get the flu shot or have they had chemical warfare training this year or did they perform the 12 take offs and landing this quarter they needed.

SSOOOO, then I got pregnant with DD1 and stayed at my full time reserve job for almost a year. At that point we decided I should stay home to raise her…. Funny because Uncle Sam decided I would get activated 1 month after quitting. Because I had not left my unit yet, I was activated and was able to stay at home station while everyone else was sent overseas because I was pregnant with DD2.

Now I work for the Operations Group Commander as a Career Adviser. This is the 1 weekend per month and two weeks per year job and the first time in 15 plus years that I actually only do 1 weekend per month and two weeks per year annual tour.

With all that said, we love the military and all it has done for our friends and us. We love Disney and all it brings us.

I will post some pics of DH and I in uniform sometime later and I will also post pics of his airplane. Basically it’s a DC10 converted to carry gas for in-flight refueling.
If you have any questions about the AF or what we do, please ask.

I'll answer the question about which branch of military Kc10's DH is in....He was upgraded to Senior Master Sargeant(sP?) in the Air Force. My dad tried for almost 15 years to make that rank as soon as he got there he screwed it up. It is a very hard combination of testing and merit points so.....

WOOHOO!!!!

I think I saw that Kc10 is in the guard.....guess we'll have to wait for her to answer that one!!

You are correct!

They get points for their performance reports each year. They get points for their awards and then in DH case their file “career file” meets a board who looks it over and scores it based on what he has or hasn’t done in his career. The “board’ is only for E-7 through E-9 (E-9 is the highest an enlisted member can go) for E-1 through E-6 they take a test on their job. Then everyone tests on Air Force history, costumes and courtesies, Air Force doctrine, etc. So DH did very well to reach E-8. I am so very happy for him.

KC10-Congrats on your husband's promotion! That is so exciting. What branch of the military is he/you in, if you don't mind my asking. We are so proud of the military here in our family. Each evening we start our family prayers with a blessing on the military. Thank you for the sacrifice you all make for us! You probably don't hear it enough, but I really appreciate it!

Thank you, I am crying while reading/posting this.

Well, I've had a bit of a depressing day, today. I've been having problems with one of my classes, and so I asked the professor for some clarification on an assignment. He emailed me today, telling me that perhaps I'm not ready for graduate level classes, and maybe I should consider transferring out. I'm completely perplexed since I've been taking graduate level classes for 2 semesters, and have gotten A's and A-'s. With this particular professor, I've done every assignment and gotten 100% on every assignment. So, this comment of his came out of the blue for me. I was always taught that if you had a question, to ask the teacher for help. Well, I did this, and was completely shut down.

DH is on his way home from work to take me out to dinner to get my mind off the whole thing. What a sweetie!

I sure hope your day is better today. Maybe your professor was having a bad day or didn't now what student he was taking to. Keep your head up!

pixiedust: a little PD for all of you!

Congratulations to Mark!! That's great news. Any chance it means he won't be gone for so long at one time?

Well, he is scheduled for a few TDY's (trips) lasting from a few days to two weeks for the next six plus months. As of now his next LONG deployment is scheduled for Jan 07 for four months.
So if anyone wants to visit me (Napa, San Fransico area) next year... come on over.
Thank you for asking.

OK OK... now I'm off to clean the floor and dishes before getting DD1 from preschool.

Talk with you all later this afternoon.

So I was all set to post on this thread and did once, then my laptop decided to not to cooperate. Now it's finally fixed. So I am saying  again!

There is no way I will have the time to catch up on all that has gone on here, I skimmed through some of the last few pages. Here are :grouphug: and pixiedust: to all who need them. And :cheer2: on all the victories, big or little.

I have spent the morning at the pediatrician with both DD's. My oldest has an ear infection in each ear that are very bad. Apparently leftover from the end of January. Her dr was amazed that she was so happy. Emma woke up this morning and told me that her ear was "copying her". The dr was impressed with this description once I explained Emma was hearing an echo. Molly, we are suspecting allergies. She is congested and just can't kick it.

We are headed to out to dinner tonight to celebrate my neice's 6th birthday with a group of 20. Should be interesting!
