Glynis - I hope your teacher was having a bad day! Maybe he got you confused with another person! It sounds like you do great with your scores and that comment from him definately came out of the blue!

Kristine - I hope you have fun in Vegas! I was there a few years ago at the end of March and it was too cold to sit by the pool, but the weather was still great! I would have loved to have seen the Blue Man Group, but we skipped the shows. It should definately be warmer when your going! We spent an extra few days and drove out to Death Valley. I'm not much into desert scenery and it was amazing to see some of the sights and the canyons. Titus Canyon is a great drive if you ever get the chance to go out to that area.

My first trip a few years ago...we saw blue man group. I liked it alot! I would love to see Death Valley again (went as a kid) but Bill is not too into that. Maybe some day...

Denise - I am glad you had a great day!!

Glynis - I can't imagine a profesor would say something to you when you have all As in every class and his - I think you should chalk it up to him having a bad day and if he gives you any more trouble - tell him the queen would like to have a word with him!!

Well, I've had a bit of a depressing day, today. I've been having problems with one of my classes, and so I asked the professor for some clarification on an assignment. He emailed me today, telling me that perhaps I'm not ready for graduate level classes, and maybe I should consider transferring out. I'm completely perplexed since I've been taking graduate level classes for 2 semesters, and have gotten A's and A-'s. With this particular professor, I've done every assignment and gotten 100% on every assignment. So, this comment of his came out of the blue for me. I was always taught that if you had a question, to ask the teacher for help. Well, I did this, and was completely shut down.

DH is on his way home from work to take me out to dinner to get my mind off the whole thing. What a sweetie!

:grouphug: Glynis. That seems like a rather strange comment considering your class scores. From what I've heard you talk about it sounds like you are going great in graduate school. I hope that your professor was just having an off moment or was confusing you with some one else. Keep up the great work and don't worry about him! Is there another student in the class that you know well enough to discuss the assignment with?

Congratulations to Mark!!!!!

Denise-glad to hear of your good day. Will be thinking of Rees this Friday.

Glynis-do you think perhaps this professor just doesn't want to do his job?

Thanks to everyone for offering me renewed hope for my Mom. It was really heartbreaking a few weeks ago when she didn't recognize me. She knew who I was when I arrived but didn't remember that I had 3 children. Then she thought I was one of my sisters and when I told her I wasn't she responded with "then who the hell are you?" and showed no recognition of me or my name. I'm the youngest of 6 and we lost our dad when I was 6 so my Mom's been through a lot. When I saw her this weekend after just 1 week on the new meds I couldn't believe the change. Now thanks to all of you I have even more hope for my Mom's recovery.

Tonight was night 2 of going to bed awake. Tonight was met with more tears and more pleas to save her from the monsters but she did settle down relatively quickly. It would be so great to have her going to bed awake before my May adult trip where I leave DH home alone with all 3 kids.

okay -

I have loved Ace but did anyone else think that was one of the worst AI performances EVER?!?!

We are staying at Harrahs this time...it's not my favorite...but the location is great, plus they offered a fantastic rate. We saw KA last time...it wasn't my favorite. Bill wants to see Mystique...I think I am one of the few people in the world that don't love the whole Cirque De Soleil (sp?) thing. He said he wants to do a Karaokee duet :rotfl: I'm not sure there's enough liquor in vegas for me to do that!! :rotfl2:

We stayed at the Monte Carlo but spent so little time in the room and at the hotel that it really doesn't matter as long as the place is clean etc.
I agree on the Karaokee, they have come out with a new cirque de Soleil show for adults only, more erotic which they said was good. I loved NY NY and could do with another trip out there.
Enjoy, Enjoy, Enjoy!!!

We thought that he was really bad tonight. We really like Taylor and Elliott. I thought that Bucky did well tonight too.

Glynis -- so sorry your professor was crabby. Hope he lightens up some!

kc10family -- congrats on the promotion -- fabulous news!

Denise -- glad to hear you and the triplets had a good day. That is amazing that BK has had such great progress. I hope the thing for school goes well for Rees, and hope your DH feels better very soon.

I have never been to the Monte Carlo...my favorite is the Mirage. Although the rooms at the Palms were extremely nice...but the atmosphere was way too young for me. ALthough I think Bill enjoyed "Topless Tuesday" :rotfl:

I hated his performance...but then I don't care for guys singing in high voices...too corny for me.

Glynis...

Don't take it too hard. Who knows what kind of day this guy had. I've run into the same thing with my broker...some days I feel like I am working for Sybil!!!

Thanks. I needed to hear that. I just stress out so much over things like this. I really want to do well, because DH is paying so much money for my education. I guess I'm a bit of a perfectionist. I'm feeling a lot better about things. I've talked to other students in the class and got the answer to the question that the prof. never answered for me. Now I can start my research!

My DD had quite a bout with "monsters" when we started putting her to bed awake, as well. My mom offered this advice: get a small spray bottle and fill it with water and a little bit of your perfume, something that she recognizes as smelling like you. At bedtime, bring it out, call it "monster spray" and show her how to spray under the bed, in the closet, anywhere the monsters are. Make sure you also lightly spray her pillow.

We did this for about a week, and it was amazing how quickly she would go to bed. She only asked for the monster spray for about 2 weeks, and then she was fine. Good luck! It does get easier!

My oldest had the hardest time with "monsters". We tried monster powder sprinkled over his bed (baby powder). We then tried monster spray (his was vanilla scented airfreshener). We tried everything that I had ever read about and nothing worked. Then one day I was making a baby mobile for my expecting SIL. I made the entire nursery set and the pattern was pastel stars. The mobile was made up of stuffed stars suspended above the crib. Well Nick really liked the stars so I made him one. It was about 9 inches tall and his favorite color blue. I made up a story about how it was just like the stars in the sky watching over him and it would take all of the monsters and bad dreams away. I told him that we would know that it was working because over time it would get dirty. If it was dirty then he knew that it was getting full. All we had to do was wash the sleep star and all the bad stuff would go down the drain. I can not tell you how well this worked. He used it for years before he finally outgrew it. You are welcome to try it. My family all said that I should sell them as they worked so well. I have made them for family and friends and they worked well for other too.

one viewing of monsters inc cured all troubles with monsters in our house!!! Now they know that Monsters come to make kids laugh not scream!! :sulley:

they also have a big sulley that when they seem to forget or worry that the monsters might forget - sleeps with them - so all the other monsters know he is their monster!

Sounds like a sweetie of a hubby!! The professor sounds like he was having one of those days!! I think you are doing great!! You make the whole DDA think with your questions!

I'll answer the question about which branch of military Kc10's DH is in....He was upgraded to Senior Master Sargeant(sP?) in the Air Force. My dad tried for almost 15 years to make that rank as soon as he got there he screwed it up. It is a very hard combination of testing and merit points so.....

WOOHOO!!!!

I think I saw that Kc10 is in the guard.....guess we'll have to wait for her to answer that one!!

I'll go ahead & post this.
I'll catch up later.
I'm back around page 670.
My bedroom project is finished.
The bedding arrived today.
Perfect timing.
My :cat: Sunny get sick on my bed today.
Here is a picture of my bed with the new bedding.
mynewbedroom-2.jpg

By the way this is Sunny.
My baby girl.
mynewbedroom-1.jpg

This picture shows the color much better.
Pretty plain without pictures on the wall.
Trying to get packed.
I'm thinking when I get into an apt.
To keep this color as an accent wall.
My Co. allows 1 accent wall per room.

Honest do the colors match.
I'm part color blind, so I'm really asking.

Now to do Ramiro room this weekend.
Then the inside is done. :woohoo:
