She may or may not. She has complained all year that he doesn't include enough details, but I think he must have this time. :goodvibes

Now he needs to come up with a project to accompany the report. Hopefully he comes up with something simple. He now has one week to write the final draft, make a project and prepare an oral report which cannot be read. That is always tough for him. He will need to practice many times at home for that.

Ok, I'm really going to bed now.

deb

How about for a project the playground or a collage of all the places Fudge acted up?? That would include dad's work, the playground and I think the shoe store (that might be in Super Fudge).

Tell Hunter that Super Fudge is a great book....I think we have that one here in my house if he would like to read it. Not many more (or any that I can think of) of Blume's books are good for both genders....she really writes toward pre teen girls.

Elizabeth - Congrats to your DS for his grades! You should be proud.

I am also crowing tonight, as Kristin's second semester grades were posted and she has another set of A's. That makes the 4th semester in a row that she has gotten straight A's and her GPA is 3.79 right now. I am delighted with her, to say the least! :)

Congrats to Kristin! How wonderful!!:thumbsup2

Elizabeth that is wonderful! Congratulations to your ds :cheer2:

Thank you! We really are so very happy for him!

Jen your job will come, you are just having the Disney blues

Remember last week (or no, I guess you don't, since you were at Disney!) I had nothing in the way of job offers. Then I set interviews for Thursday, Friday, and Saturday. By Monday I had 3 offers on the table. I chose my new family on Monday, and by Tuesday afternoon I had 3 more families asking for interviews! Hang in there! It will happen!:)

My version of mindless entertainment. Trying to find Donkey glasses at McDonald's. Drove around :drive: for 3 hours.

So, who is going to see POC3 tomorrow??? pirate: pirate:

147 days people 147 days!!!

Stephanie, you always make me smile.:cloud9: I will see if I run across a Donkey glass in my travels. I don't think we'll make it to POTC3 tomorrow, but maybe over the weekend. DH is nearly dead form working so many days. And he doesn't have a day off until June 3!:scared1: I may take the kids to Shrek tomorrow. Sister has dress rehearsal for dance, so we might skip Taekwondo.

Congrats to all the DDA smarties :thumbsup2
Hunter has a rough draft of a book report due tomorrow. He's known about it for weeks and had told us that he was working on it at school. Of course he didn't bring any of it home until last night and he showed it to me after the concert. I knew then that he was going to have trouble getting it done. He is such a slow writer. So he came home at 3 today and started in. I had typed what he had written prior to today into my laptop last night. He had missed including the setting in his opening paragraph which was a requirement. That meant that he needed to rewrite the whole thing  I figured that if I type it and print it out it would be easier for him to rewrite it from type rather than his handwriting. Well he had no time to work on it at school today. I ended up taking him and the laptop to work tonight. I worked with him for an hour then Chris picked him up. I told Chris to work with him, but apparently he thought the lawn was more important and that Hunter could work independently. I got home at 9:30 and Hunter had managed to write a whopping 12 sentences in 3 hours  Chris had stopped him from finishing and started him on rewriting. The last couple of paragraphs were so much less informative then the rest of the paper. I ended up having him retell the important stuff to me and I finished typing it. by then it was 10:30 and I was not having him rewrite it. She will have to accept the typed format for the rough draft. I think 7 hours on a 3rd grade rough draft book report is more than enough. We will see what the teacher has to say tomorrow. It is all Hunter's words, just not in his handwriting. He even typed some of it himself which explained why it took him 3 hours to write 12 sentences. So needless to say I'm one frustrated mom tonight.

I hope it all turns out OK. DS's teacher loved the million $ project - she had to have known he had help because it took literally days to gather all the info. Hopefully Hunter's teacher will be understanding and grade him on content as opposed to other criteria!

Hi Vicki! :wave2: I hope life settles down for you soon. It sounds like the party is really going to be special for Becky. She deserves it!

Congrats to Becky!

I worked late tonight. My bosses came in at 10 PM, but I stayed and chatted with Momboss until 11:30. I know - we have an odd relationship. We talked a little bit about what sort of person she should be looking for to replace me. What scares me is that I am SO reliable. And I have been reliable for my entire life, so even in my first nanny job I was dependable. My bosses never have to worry about the kids because they know I can handle anything that comes up, and they are probably a little spoiled by that. I have heard several horror stories of girls who leave kids at school because they just forget to pick them up!:scared: I don't want anyone to ever forget Brother & Sister! Momboss said they have had a couple of people not show up for interviews. That can't be good. Obviously those girls are not being considered for the job. I have no problem hiring somebody young, as long as she has a proven track record for being reliable and having common sense. Hopefully they will find someone soon and she can start overlapping with me on hours so I can make sure she will care for my small friends properly.

So I spent the afternoon converting all of my WDW video to DVD, edited out some of the goofs, put in titles, etc. It came out to about 35 minutes in length. Most of it is the kids with characters, Chef Mickey's napking twirling, CRT, BBB, the talking trash can, FOTLK, and so on. I showed it to Bob tonight. Seems I have my work cut out converting him to a WDW fan. His response to the character stuff...."why spend all that time waiting in line when you could be riding???"

What program did you end up using? And, I know I am in the minority here, but I understand Bob's puzzlement. I think it really depends on the people involved in the trip. We only spent one of our 50+ trips looking for characters and standing in line for autographs. After that the kids showed absolutely no interest in them at all. So, unless Bob's DD has a desire to interact with characters I can identify with his wanting to ride rides instead of character visitations. :rotfl:

Goodnight. I'm going to bed too. It's back to work tomorrow, and I'm dreading the drive home that I will have, with all the getaway traffic for the holiday weekend.

Nite Tammi--hope the traffic isnt too bad!

Tammi - I hope you find a little traffic angel to sit on your shoulder tonight. I do NOT envy you the drive down 95. Friday nights are bad enough on a normal weekend, but tonight's drive promises to be brutal. Be safe!

Deb - I hope Hunter's rough draft is a huge hit with his teacher. It would be nice for him to finish out the year with her on a good note, I think.

Becky - I don't remember who it was who said this in my reading this morning, but I will echo the fact that you are wise beyond your years. :)

Jen - The summer after college I waited on tenterhooks for job offers and nothing was forthcoming until July. I was still getting offers AFTER school had started and I was already teaching. Hang in there.

Vicki - Congratulations to Becky. Sounds like the celebration is about to begin!

Good morning, DDA! :sunny:

I have an easy day ahead of me. I can't believe it! Kristin went to James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, to visit friends for the weekend and I don't have any classes or private lessons today. Bob is headed to work in a minute or two. Button and I will have the house to ourselves! Also, I have another school-wide recital tonight, but I don't have to be at the Liberry until 3:30 or so. I plan to work on our California Trip and on my little flower garden (which is starting to sprout!) and soak up some sunshine and maybe read.

Good Morning DDA!

My first week back to work after vacation and they throw in a mandatory overtime day! (Busy time of year in the bun business!) Ugh! More money for Disney, I guess!:goodvibes

I have enjoyed everyone's pictures that have been posted over the last few days!

Congrats to all the DDA students on their great accomplishments!

Jen, thank you so much for the postcard, it brightened my day!:goodvibes

Tammi reminded me of something.
I made a DVD of last year's Disney vacation on our new computer.
I am quite proud of how it came out. I added captions and of course Disney music that related to each set of pictures that I had. It ended up being almost 40 minutes long!
I gave a copy to each of my family members and they have enjoyed it. It has become one of Leighanna's favorite DVD's. I just love to hear her singing Disney songs! My Mom shows it to EVERYONE that she knows! She can't wait for the next one to come out!:) I visited her on Wed. and took her to her doctors appointment, and afterwards, she wanted to show it to me. I told her that I spent a week making it, and that I have seen it probably 40 times already. She just didn't understand me not wanting to see it again!;)

Have a great day all!

Time to get some sleep and start my work day (night) all over again!

125 DAYS PEOPLE! 125 MORE DAYS!

Deb, good luck with Hunters book report :wizard:

Tammi I hope the traffic is not to horrible for you tonight!

Elin enjoy your time alone today!

I was suppose to have today off, but my manager has family coming in town for her dgd's graduation. So I am going to work for her. I did not realize till yesterday that Riley has no school today! I keep forgetting that the private school does some things a little different. So I am going to get to work early & hope to be home around noon. I can finish up tomorrow what I do not get done today. I told Riley we could go out to lunch together & maybe go shopping.

The boys only have a few more days of school left :cool1: I' not sure who is more excited lol A couple of months of not having to get them up early makes me a happy camper :thumbsup2

Hi Tom! Vacations just go to quickly, hope you enjoyed your time off!

Me too! I'm looking forward to relaxing over the weekend! Going to try to see if Bob might want to go to the zoo - If not, I might try to get a girlfriend to go with me!

I was just asking the boys yesterday if they would like to go to the zoo! We haven't been in a long time.

Hi Elin :)

Tia did you just add a new ticker or have I missed something?

Looks like you are going to Disney for MNSSHP :cool1:

I did, but I don't know if we're going. I am trying to go to MNSSHP, but who knows if it will actually happen. We have a reservation for free dining (because I'm not going to miss that opportunity). Currently, we may only do MNSSHP and one other park day, but we'll see. I guess I have until mid-Aug to make it work. Going to Disney World is all Terra has been talking about for weeks now and about a quarter of the time it is about Halloween at Disney World since we checked out a Disneyland Halloween Sing-a-Long at the library a couple of months ago.

Do any of you do digital scrapbooking? I'm thinking of trying this out, since I haven't touched my regulary scrapbooking stuff in about a year. I thought maybe the digital would be less time consuming. I was reading over on the scrapbooking thread, but I'm really clueless about it all.

I have in my head, does that help? I really want to get into digital scrapbooking and have done a lot of reading on it over the last year or so. I just hadn't had a program, memory space, or time to get started. Now the program and space part are taken care of and I am hoping to get started with some old family pictures that I have been asked to scan and save.

My best advice is to look for all of the freebies out there! There are a lot of sites with a few or even many free elements and coordinated kits that you can download to use while you are starting out.

I don't remember which site it is now, but one site has a pretty good digital scrapbooking "101" article that you can read. It seemed to capture a lot of the info I was looking for.

Alot of it is just finding the elements, having a design program to use them in and then moving things around the page until you know what you want.

If you try any, post a link to the pages as I'd love to see them!
